International Journal of Pediatrics 2011;38(3):235-237
Hypoxic-ischaemic brain injury is a main cause to neonatal death and children neural handicap, and therapeutic efficacy is bad for the completely injured nerve cells. The development research of mesenchymal cells transplantation has a good prospect to treat this disease.

Taizhou Enze Medical Center (Group) made worthwhile attempts in the decentralized and centralized financial management,in an effort to build a centralized mode featuring department setup, information management, funding management, centralized accouting, and cost-performance settlement.Centralized financial management is a trend change in the management of large medical groups, but the changes in the financial management of its complexity and long-term,are associated with the group's overall reform needs, which need to be amended and improved constantly in practice.

Objective To evaluate the labor duration of healthy primiparas in the past 20 years compared with Friedman labor curve. Methods Published observational studies about labor duration in primiparas with singleton vertex presentation were searched in PubMed,EMBase,Cochrane library,CNKI,VIP and Wanfang database. The Cochrane Collaborafion' s RevMan 5.1 software was used for reta-analysis.Results Eleven literatures involving 4534 primiparas were included, which were eligible for the criteria to investigate the labor duration.Meta-analysis showed that the length of active phase was significantly different between what was showed in primiparas in the past 20 years and Friedman labor curve[ P =0.01,weighted mean difference ( WMD ) =1.61,95% CI:0.38 to 2.83 ],and significant differences were also found in the second stage duration (P =0.0006,WMD =-0.20,95% CI:-0.31 to -0.09 ).Conclusions Compared with Friedman labor curve, active phase length of healthy primiparas in the past 20 years was significantly longer and second stage length was shorter.Reassessing labor curve of healthy primiparas is required for more scientific guidance and less unnecessary interventions.

OBJECTIVE:To study the therapeutic effect and safety of domestic tolterodine tartrate in treating patients with urinary bladder overactivity.METHODS:56 cases of bladder overactivity were divided into two groups randomly:tolterodine and control(oxybutynin)group. The course of treatment was 6 weeks.RESULTS:The effect of tolterodine in treatment group was comparable to that of oxybutynin in control group, however, the adverse reactions in oxybutynin group were more common than those in tolterodine group.CONCLUSION:Tolterodine is a suitable drug to treat bladder overactivity.

The ptrpose of this study was to investigate the effects of long-term estradiol and progesterone combined therapy on bone mineral density (BMD) in patients with Turner syndrome.Eight patients with Turner syndrome received estradiol and progesterone combined therapy for six years were observed and BMD was measured for each of them before hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and at an interval of one to two years after HRT and compared with that in normal age-sex matched women.BMD was significantly lower in patients with Turner syndrome than that in normal controls before HRT.All the patients with Turner syndrome had breast enlargement and irregular vaginal bleeding after HRT.BMD increased slightly in the patients with Turner syndrome after six-year HRT ,but still much lower than that in normal controls.Their BMD of the 2nd to 4th lumbar vertebra increased to (0.84±0.22) g/cm2 after HRT from (0.75±0.12)g/cm2 before it,with Z-score increased to -2.2±0.6 from -3.2±0.9,respectively; and overall BMD of the hip increased to (0.81±0.08) g/cm2 after HRT from (0.68±0.07) g/cm2 before it,with Z-score increased to-1.2 ± 0.3 from-2.2 ± 0.5,respectively.Long-term HRT can improve their BMD for patients with Turner syndrome but can not restore it to normal.

The phytase was extracted from solid state leavening of Trichoderma Viride LH374.The crude product was purified by(NH_4)_2SO_4 precipitation, gel filtration and ion exchange chromatography. The purified phyatse was 13.3 times of the raw products, and the extraction ration was 27.1%.The study on the enzymology of phyatse showed that the optimal temperature and pH were 55℃ and 6.0,respectively.The Km value of the phytase was 0.15mmol/L.

The inhibitory effects of diallyl sulfide (DAS) derived from allicin on in vitro and in vivo proliferation of human osteosarcoma MG-63 cells and the action mechanism, and the influence of DAS on invasive capability of MG-63 cells were investigated in order to search for the novel medicines for osteosarcoma. In the in vitro experiment, MG-63 cells were treated with different concentrations of DSA, and the morphological changes of MG-63 cells were observed under an inverted phase microscope. MTT method was used to assay the proliferation of MG-63 cells. Semi-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to detect the VEGF mRNA expression level in MG-63 cells. By using Transwell invasion assay, the influence of DAS on invasive ability of MG-63 cells was tested. In the in vivo experiment, the nude mice MG-63 cells tumor-bearing model was established, and different concentrations of DAS were injected beside the tumor. Twenty-one days after treatment, the mice were killed, the tumor size and tumor inhibition rate were calculated. The microvessel density (MVD) was determined by using immunohistochemistry. In the in vitro experiment, different concentrations of DAS could obviously inhibit proliferation of MG-63 cells in a time- and concentration-dependent manner. RT-PCR revealed that the expression levels of VEGF mRNA in DSA groups (different concentrations) were significant reduced as compared with those in control group (all P<0.05). Transwell invasion assay indicated that in 20 and 40 μg/mL DAS groups, the number of migratory cells was 91.4±8.3 and 81.8±7.4 respectively, which was significantly declined as compared with that in control group (150.4±14.7, both P<0.05). In the in vivo experiment, DAS could significantly suppress the growth of MG-63 tumor-bearing tissue. Immunohistochemistry demonstrated that different concentrations (20 and 40 μg/mL) of DAS could significantly decrease MVD of MG-63 tumor-bearing tissue (all P<0.05). It was suggested that DAS could inhibit the growth of MG-63 cells probably by suppressing the expression of VEGF mRNA.

Objective To investigate the change expression levels of secreted frizzled related protein 5 (SFRP5) mRNA and protein in human adipose, and muscle tissues and the relationship between SFRP5 and insulin resistance in different glucose tolerance subjects. Methods Twelve type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) patients and 12 aged and sex-matched healthy control subjects were enrolled.T2DM patients were diagnosed by1999 WHO criterion.Under the same conditions, the omental adipose and muscle tissues from these patients undergoing elective abdominal surgery were obtained.Expressions of sfrp5 protein and mRNA in adipose and muscle tissues were determined by semi—quantitive RT-PCR and Western blot while body height, weight, waist circumference, hipcircumference, blood pressure, lipodemia, fasting plasma glucose, fasting insulin, glycosylated hemoglobin, fasting serum insulin(FINS),HOMA-β,HOMA-insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR) etc were investigated. Results 1.SBP,TG,FPG,2 h PG,Fins,HOMA-IR,HbA1C were significantly higher in T2DM groups than in the control group.2.The expressions of SFRP5 mRNA and protein in omental adipose tissues were significantly higher inT2DM group than in the control group(P < 0.01).3.The level of SFRP5 mRNA and protein expressions were higher in omental adipose tissue than in the muscle tissues. Conclusions The fact that mRNA and protein expression level of SFRP5 was higher in adipose tissue than in muscle indicates adipose tissue may be the main source of SFRP5.The expressions of SFRP5 mRNA and protein were higher inT2DM group than in the control group indicates sfrp5 may play a role in insulin resistance.
