Tumor growth depends on the tumor microenvironment(TME).Tumor-associated neutrophils(TANs)are important inflammatory cells in TME.TANs are divided intoN1type with anti-tumor effect andN2type of tumor-promoting effect.Therefore,TANs have both beneficial and harmful aspects of the body.A large number of studies have been shown that TANs affect tumor formation,metastasis,angiogenesis and immune response,regulated by the secretion of cytokines and chemokines.This review will summarize the biological characteristics of TANs,and tumor development,prognosis and treatment of tumor as well as research progress of the relationship between TANs and tumor.

Objective To discuss the distribution of coagulation markers in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the correlation of these markers with the prognosis of the patients, the TCM syndrome and the long-term thrombotic events. Method Hospitalized NSCLC patients were selected for retrospective investigation and the coagulation markers data were analyzed with SPSS13.0. Result There were 10 cases (38.5%) and eight cases (30.8%) with one or more abnormal coagulation markers in the non-advanced NSCLC group, while there were 95 cases (71.4%) and 77 cases (57.9%) in the advanced NSCLC group. Objective To investigate the application of PKH26 and molecular light imaging system in cartilage en?gineering. Methods Canine chondrocyte was labeled by fluorescent dye PKH26 and seeded into the porous cartilage acel?lular matrix scaffold. The cells/scaffold constructs were cultured in vitro for 1 week. Then the constructs were implanted into the dorsal pocket of nude mice. We utilized a molecular light imaging system to macroscopically observe cells/scaffold con?structs in vivo with fluorescence at the 4th weeks, and compared with X-rays taken at the same position. The fluorescence im?ages were compared with the immunohistochemical and immunofluorescent results of cartilage-like tissue in vivo. Results Luminescent images were acquired at the 4th weeks, a red color enhanced overlay of the luminescent image over X-ray photo?graphic image demonstrated the location of the implants and the cell viability and cell growth on porous CACM scaffold in vivo were very well. Histological results show that the safranin O, anti-collagenⅡimmunohistochemistry and toluidine blue stain of cartilage-like tissue is positive. Immunofluorescence examination demonstrated chondrocytes in the constructs whitch is showen red fluorescence, and anti-collagenⅡimmunofluorescent staining was showen in green while the overlap?ping image is showen in yellow. Conclusion This study outlines an applicable non-destructive method to evaluate cell growth in tissue engineering constructs in vivo using PKH26 and molecular light imaging system.

Objective To investigate the role of nuclear factor(erythroid?derived 2)?like 2(Nrf2)in load?driven bone metabolism in Nrf2 knock?out(KO)mice. Methods The hybridized mice in the same brood were selected through PCR detection and were divided into two groups,i.e.,the Nrf2 knockout(KO)group and the wild?type(WT)group. Ulna of mice was loaded with 4 000 peak microstrains at 2 Hz for 3 consecutive days (120 cycles/day)as scheduled,the relative mineralizing surface(rMS/BS)and the relative bone formation rate(rBFR/BS)of ulna were measured for the two groups. Results Load?induced bone formation was suppressed in KO mice. Compared to the WT control,the relative bone formation rate was roughly 84%lower in KO mice(P<0.01). Conclusion The loss?of?function mutation of Nrf2 in bone diminishes load?driven bone formation.

Objective To investigate the relationship between serum C-reactive protein(CRP) level ,CRP gene C+1444T poly-morphism and the risk with Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in Chinese Han population in Sunan region .Methods The CRP gene C+1444T polymorphism was genotyped by Polymerase reaction restriction-fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and the serum CRP level was measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) between 227 patients with AMI(AMI group) and 161 control subjects .Results No differences were found in genotype distribution between AMI group and controls (CC 82 .38% ,CT 17 .62% ,TT 0% vs 86 .96% ,13 .04% ,0% )(P>0 .05) .The serum CRP level in AMI group was significantly higher than controls(P< 0 .01) .There was no differences in the serum level between any genotypes of the CRP gene C + 1444T (P<0 .05) .Conclusion The CRP gene C+1444T polymorphism is not associate with increased risk of AMI ,and it have no effect with the serum level in Chinese Han population in Sunan region .

protrusion measured by ultrasound for diagnosing bladder outlet obstruction.Methods A literature search of medline (1966.1-2011.6),embase(1984.1-2011.6),CNKI (1994.1-2011.6) and WEIPU Data (1989.1-2011.6) from 1999 to 2009 was performed by two reviewers independently.QUADAS items was applicated to assess trial quality.Golden standard was BOOI measured by urodynamics (BOOI more than 40 indicates bladder outlet obstruction).Heterogenous studies and meta-analysis were conducted by Meta-Disc 1.4 software.Results Totally 6 studies was included at last,involving 682 subjects.No threshold effect was found,but there was heterogeneity due to other factors.The meta-analysis showed that the sensitivity was 70.8 ％,specificity was 87.6 ％,positive LR was 5.132,negative LR was 0.303,the diagnostic OR was 22.18,the area under SROC curve was 0.8723 and Q index was 0.8028.Conclusions Intravesical prostatic protrusion measured by ultrasound is a good index for diagnosing bladder outlet obstruction in patients with benign prostate hyperplasia when intravesical prostatic protrusion is equal or more than 10mm.

BACKGROUND: Cervical spinal cord injury without radiographic abnormality (SCIWORA) is a special type of spinal cord injury. Because of the particularity of children in the period of growth and development on the aspects of anatomy and biomechanics, their injured mechanism and therapeutic method differ from those of adults.OBJECTIVE: To explore clinical feature and therapy of first-episode cervical SCIWORA in children.DESIGN: Retrospective analysis and self pre-and post-control observation.SETTING: Department of Spine Surgery, Second Affiliated Hospital,Harbin Medical University.PARTICIPANTS: Totally 14 patients with cervical SCIWORA, who were treated at the Departmentof Spine Surgery, Second Affiliated Hospital,Harbin Medical University between June 1997 and June 2003. Inclusive criteria: ①patients who had dysfunction of sensation, exercise and sphincter to different degree in clinic, ②patients who had no fracture dislocation after cervical vertebra X-ray plain film and MRI examination. The MRI examination showed the sign of spinal cord injury. T1WI spinal cord became thick. T2WI distributed at strip-shape high-signal region along spinal prosenchyma and spread upward and downward. There were 3 patients with complete spinal cord injury and 11 patients with incomplete spinal cord injury, among the patients with incomplete injury, there were 6 patients with central cord syndrome (CCS), 3 with Brown-Sequard syndrome and 2withfrontal spinal cord injury syndrome.METHODS: Retrospective analysis was performed in 14 children patients with cervical SCIWORA. Thirteen patients were not treated with operation and one patient was treated with cervical posterior atlantoaxial fusion. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ASIA grading before and after treatment in patients.RESULTS: There were 1 dead patient and 13 cases with 3-year follow up averagely. Three patients were with insignificant amelioration, and others had recovery of limb function to different degree. According to ASIA grading standard, before treatment there were 3 cases in A grade, 5 cases in B grade, 5 cases in C grade and 1 case in D grade, and after treatment there were 1 case recovering to B grade, 2 cases to C grade, 5 cases to D grade and 2 cases to E grade.CONCLUSION: Restoration of neurofunction of children with cervical SCIWORA has closely correlation with degree of primary injury of spinal cord. Most of the patients were not treated with operation, and those with obviously instable cervical vertebra can be treated with operation.

BACKGROUND: Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) is a kind of stem cell with potential of self-repair and multi-differentiation. It may differentiate into neuron, adipose cell and osteoblasts.OBJECTIVE: To observe the transforming efficacy of human bone marrow mesencymal stem cells (hMSCs) into neurons in vitro in different generations so as to provide reliable experimental data for the clinical application of MSCs.DESIGN: Single sample was designed.SETTING: Department of Neurology, Sino-Japan Friendship Hospital,Jilin UniversityPARTICIPANTS: Marrow tissue was collected from 9 cases of spinal fusion in Department of Orthopedics of First Hospital affiliated to Jilin University. Of 9 cases, all of them were in known of the experiment.METHODS: The experiment was performed in Sino-Japan Hospital affiliated to Jilin University from September 2002 to February 2003. The primary and generative culture of hMSCs was given. Experimental and the control groups were divided.-mercaptoethanol was taken as inducer. hMSCs of the 2rd, 4th, 6th and 8th generations were selected for induction in vitro for 6 h. Cytochemistry staining and immunohistochemistry staining were used to assay the expressions of neuronal and astrocytic marked proteins.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Growth curve analysis on genera tive culture of hMSCs. ② Nissel staining. ③ Immunohistochemical staining.RESULTS: ① Common characters of generative culture: The latent phase of generative culture was 12-24 hours, exponential phase was 7-10 days and 11-13 days later, cell culture entered the platform phase. ② After induction of the 2nd, 4th and 6th generated hMSCs, deep blue granular Nissl body presented in cytoplasm. In 6 hours on the 8th induction, there was no obvious deep blue Nissl structure presented in cytoplasm.③ Except GFAP, NSE and NF-M were expressed in hMSCs of different generations after induction for 6 hours. There was no significant difference in positive rates of the 2nd, 4th and 6th generations (P ＞ 0.05), but the significant difference presented in comparison between the 8th generation and the 2nd, 4thand 6th generations (P ＜ 0.05). CONCLUSION:-mercaptoethanol can induce hMSCs differentiating into neuronal cells in vitro. The positive rates of the 2nd, 4th and 6th generationsare higher remarkably than the 8th generation.
