Using the field sampling and indoor soil cultivation methods, the dynamic of ginseng rhizosphere soil microbial activity and biomass with three cultivated ages was studied to provide a theory basis for illustrating mechanism of continuous cropping obstacles of ginseng. The results showed that ginseng rhizosphere soil microbial activity and biomass accumulation were inhibited observably by growing time. The soil respiration, soil cellulose decomposition and soil nitrification of ginseng rhizosphere soil microorganism were inhibited significantly (P <0.05), in contrast to the control soil uncultivated ginseng (R0). And the inhibition was gradual augmentation with the number of growing years. The soil microbial activity of 3a ginseng soil (R3) was the lowest, and its activity of soil respiration, soil cellulose decomposition, soil ammonification and soil nitrification was lower than that in R0 with 56.31%, 86.71% and 90. 53% , respectively. The soil ammonification of ginseng rhizosphere soil microbial was significantly promoted compared with R0. The promotion was improved during the early growing time, while the promotion was decreased with the number of growing years. The soil ammonification of R1, R2 and R3 were lower than that in R0 with 32.43%, 80.54% and 66.64% separately. The SMB-C and SMB-N in ginseng rhizosphere soil had a decreased tendency with the number of growing years. The SMB-C difference among 3 cultivated ages was significant, while the SMB-N was not. The SMB of R3 was the lowest. Compared with R0, the SMB-C and the SMB-N were significantly reduced 77.30% and 69.36%. It was considered by integrated analysis that the leading factor of continuous cropping obstacle in ginseng was the changes of the rhizosphere soil microbial species, number and activity as well as the micro-ecological imbalance of rhizosphere soil caused by the accumulation of ginseng rhizosphere secretions.

BACKGROUND: Atlantoaxial posterior approach is currently the main surgical treatment for atlantoaxial instability and/or dislocation, but the shape of rod in normal screw-rod device system is cylindrical. To obtain satisfactory reduction of atlantoaxis, the rod will be pre-bent obviously before fixation; however, the cylindrical rod will be rotated when tighten the nuts. Extra devices will be required to adjust and maintain the direction of the rod, thereafter, the surgical field will be blocked by the device, and spinal injury will occur once the devices are not held tightly. While the novel automatic anti-rotation rod has the function of anti-rotation during nut-tightening process, and also holds all the advantages of normal rod. Further research should be performed for the differences in biomechanical characteristics between two methods.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the biomechanical properties of the novel automatic anti-rotation rod for internal fixation system of atlantoaxial posterior approach based on three-dimensional finite-analysis model of upper cervical spine.METHODS: The three-dimensional finite element model of upper cervical spine with internal rod fixation system was developed. The biomechanical characteristics of the internal fixation system were analyzed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The traditional and novel three-dimensional finite element model with realistic and geometric similarity contained 198330 elements, 964747 nodes and 246788 elements, 996069 nodes, correspondingly. There was no obvious stress concentration in both two systems, stress was concentrated mainly in the screw-bone and screw-rod interfaces. The stress values of the novel system were higher than those of the traditional system, but the maximum Von Misses Stress of two systems was lower than the yield (795-827 MPa ) and ultimate (860-896 MPa) strength of titanium alloys. These results show that the design of the novel automatic anti-rotation rod-screw fixation system has matched the biomechanical requirements for new internal fixation instruments, and is one safe, effective and practical device for atlantoaxial posterior procedure showing promising application prospect.

AIM: To compare the visual acuity and contrast sensitivity of eyes with different corneal spherical aberration implanted with the same aspherical IOL and evaluate the effect of different ocular spherical aberration on visual performance after phacoemulsification.
METHODS:It was a prospective case series study. Forty-six eyes of thirty-nine age-related cataract patients in our department were included. The patients were divided into 3 groups according to the value of preoperative corneal spherical aberration. Eyes with corneal spherical aberration≤0. 2μm were assigned to group A, those with corneal spherical aberration >0. 2μm and ≤0. 3μm to group B, and those with corneal spherical aberration≥ 0. 3μm to group C. All patients underwent phacoemulcification and recieved AcrySof IQ aspheric IOL. Uncorrected visual acuity ( UCVA ) , best-corrected visual acuity( BCVA) , contrast sensitivity, and total ocular higher - order aberrations for a 6. 0mm pupil were recorded 3mo postoperatively. ANOVA were used to analyze the data.
RESULTS: There were no significant differences in UCVA and BCVA between the 3 groups (P=0. 287, 0. 115). Contrast sensitivity was no statistically significant difference between the 3 groups at any spatial frequency under photopic、 mesopic, and mesopic with glare conditions (P>0. 05). With a 6. 0mm pupil diameter, root mean square values for total ocular higher - order aberrations were lower in groups A and B than that in group C (P=0. 000). The difference of total ocular spherical aberration was statistically significant between the 3 groups (P=0. 000). Coma and trefoil were similar between the groups (P=0. 788,0. 590), with no statistically significant differences.CONCLUSION:Implantation of the same aspherical IOL in eyes with different corneal spherical aberration results in similar visual acuity and contrast sensitivity. Small differences of ocular spherical aberration after phacoemulsification have no effect on visual performance.

The antioxidant activity of lycopene is highest among the current carotenoids.Recently the researches on lycopene are focused on ingredient of functional foods in the world. The fermentation production of lycopene by Streptomyces rimosus was reported first time in China. The determination methods, such as spectrophotometric method and HPLC were constructed.Using a stain Fc of Streptomyces rimosus as a original strain,a high-yield lycopene producing mutant strain Fc' was selected after UV mutation. The lycopene yield of the strain is 2.5 times higher than the original strain Fc.The optimal fermentation conditions were determined by flask experiments, and the lycopene yield of strain Fc' reached 230mg/L in flask under the optimal fermentation condition, meanwhile the Streptomyces rimosus strain could produce purer lycopene without adding any blocking agents in its fermentation process. This results lay a good foundation for lycopene commercial production by fermentation using Streptomyces rimosus.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the resistant patterns of ESBLs-producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiella spp isolated from 3 hospitals in Xinjiang and to determine the genotypes of ESBLs. METHODS Using 2-fold agar dilution test to determine MICs of ten antibiotics.Using polymerase chain reaction and DNA sequencing to determine ESBLs genotype;using isoelectric focusing to determine the isoelectric points of ?-lactamases produced by strains in which no ESBLs genes were amplified by PCR. RESULTS Strains had low susceptibility to aztreonam, cefotaxime and ceftazidime. The susceptibility to cefepime,cefoperazone/sulbactam,cefmetazole,piperacillin/tazobactam,and meropenem were relatively high.Fifty five strains mainly carried blaCTX-M-1 subgroup gene and blaCTX-M-9subgroup gene, and blaSHV-12 gene were also detected. CONCLUSIONS blaCTX-M-1 Group gene and blaCTX-M-9 group gene are prevalent in three hospitals of Xinjiang,blaSHV-12 gene also plays a part role in leading to resistance of E.coli and Klebsiella spp to ?-lactams.
