Objective To investigate the role of epithelial cell apoptosis in the stress-related changes of intestinal mucosa barrier following traumatic brain injury. Methods Sixty-four health male Wistar rats were divided randomly into two groups: (1) traumatic brain injury model group (n =32) ,in which rats suffered from traumatic brain injury by Feeney's method; (2) control group ( n = 32) , rats suffered from sham operation. Each group were divided into four subgroups according 6 h, 12 h,24 h, and 48 h after operation ( n = 8, for each subgroup ). Ileum tissue were taken to observed the damage of the intestinal mucosa under microscope and electronmicroscope. The early apoptosis rate of intestinal mucosal cells were analyzed with Annexin Ⅴ-PI double stained and detected by flow cytometry. Results The intestinal mucosa were damaged and the intercellular space of intestinal mucosal were found increased in traumatic brain injury group. The early apoptosis rate of intestinal mucosal epithelial cells was significant increased in traumatic brain injury group than that in control group [6 h: (13.5 ±3.7)% vs (6.1 ± 1.7)%, P<0.05; 12 h:(66.1±6.0)% vs (5.2±1.1)%, P<0.05; 24 h:(39.8±4.8)% vs (8.4±2.6)%, P<0.05;48 h: (7.5 ±1.3)% vs (6.6 ±0.5)%]. Conclusion The increased early apoptosis rate of intestinal mucosal epithelial cells might contribute to the stress-damage of the intestinal mucosa barrier in early stage of traumatic brain injury.

Objective To investigate influence of ureaplasma urealyticum(UU)infection on low genital tract during the pregnancy. The ureaplasma urealyticum was detected by the polymerase chain reaction(PCR) in women vaginal discharge. The patients were divided into infection group and control group. Results 624(25 68%) in 2430 cases of vaginal discharge had ureaplasma urealyticum infection. Infection rates of ureaplasma urealyticum was 24 53% in second trimester and 28 86% in third trimester respectively.184 cases (32 05%) of the premature rupture of membranes in infected group were significantly higher than 20 cases(22%) in control group. The UU infection incidence in small for gestation(SGA) age was increased in the infection group (45/574 vs 2/100)P

With the increasing incidence and prevalence of male sexual dysfunction, andrologists are more and more in need of accurate and efficient tools to assess therapeutic efficacy and patients' satisfaction and to help patients achieve satisfactory treatment results. This article summarizes some of the most commonly used questionnaires for the diagnosis and assessment of the treatment of male sexual dysfunction, including International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF), Erection Hardness Score (EHS), Quality of Erection Questionnaire (QEQ), Erectile Dysfunction Inventory of Treatment Satisfaction (EDITS), Treatment Satisfaction Scale (TSS), Self-Esteem and Relationship (SEAR), Premature Ejaculation Profile (PEP), Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool (PEDT), Index of Premature Ejaculation (IPE), Arabic Index of Premature Ejaculation (AIPE), Aging Male Symptoms Scale (AMS), Androgen Deficiency in the Aging Male (ADAM), and Symptomatic Inventory for Screening Late-Onset Hypogonadism in Males (SILOH), and presents an overview on their clinical application.

[Objective]To investigate the feasibility of the placement of pedicle screws in the thoracolumbar vertebrae under X-ray fluoroscopy step by step.[Method]Eight human cadaveric thoracolumbar spines(T9~L5) were selected and classified into group A and group B randomly, each having 4 specimens.Pedicle screws in group A were placed under X-ray fluoroscopy step by step.CT scanned the specimens of group A and measured the half pedicle length, full pedicle length and the pedicle screw passage length. The "e" angle and "f" angle of pedicle were measured on CT images. When the guide wire was pricked to the half of pedicle length, the wire tip was located at the middle line of the pedicle projection in the standard posterior-anterior image. When the wire was pricked to the full pedicle length in lumbar vertebrae, its tip was located at 3/4 line of the pedicle projection in the standard posterior-anterior image. When the wire was pricked to the full pedicle length in thoracic vertebrae, its tip was located at between 1/2 line and 3/4 line of the pedicle projection. When the wire was pricked into vertebrae, the depth of the wire and the "e" angle were noted in standard lateral image.Pedicle screws were placed by the track of the guide wire.Pedicle screws in group B were placed by traditional technique. The accuracy and feasibility of the method under X-ray fluoroscopy step by step were evaluated by observation of the position of the pedicle screws in group A and group B.[Result] Four of 72(5.56%) pedicle screws were found to have perforated the pedicle wall in group A,and 19 of 72(26.38%) pedicle screws perforated the pedicle wall in group B.The result of group A was superior to that of group B(P

Objective To investigate the pathophysiological mechanism of proliferation and apoptosis in spermatogenic cell of idiopathic oligospermia. Methods Forty one patients with oligospermia were included in the trial.Testicular tissues, which were obtained with Tru Cut needle biopsy, were observed under light microscope.Expressions of p16 and PCNA,incidence of apoptosis in spermatogenic cells were detected by immunohistochemistry and in situ 3′ DNA end labeling technique. Five testicular samples which were proved to be normal by examination served as controls. Results Proliferation index (21.6?13.1)% in testes of patients was lower than the normal controls (45.4?5.7)%, P

Journal of Medical Research 2006;0(05):-
Objective The present study was conducted to study the oxidation damage effects of DBP on organs of mice and the molecular mechanisms of the effects. Methods The cells of the organs (liver, kidney, testis, lung) were exposed to different concentration of DBP (0?mol/L,5?mol/L,20?mol/L,80?mol/L) for one hour in vitro, and then the superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities of those cells of different organs were measured. Results With statistical significance, the SOD activities in liver, kidney, testis, lung cells were increased gradually with the increase of DBP concentrations. Conclusion The results suggested that DBP could induce the oxidative damage in liver, lung, kidney and testis cells of mice.
