1.Advance in herbal medicine applied to intracanal antisepsis.
West China Journal of Stomatology 2014;32(6):621-624
Intracanal antisepsis acts as one of the fundamental steps in root canal therapy. Intracanal medication is very common among the multitudinous root canal disinfection methods so far. However, as the most frequently-used intracanal medication, calcium hydroxide exists some problems, such as insufficient antimicrobial power and antibiogram. Thus exploring new root canal disinfectant is necessary. Herbal medicine is gaining favor for its wide varieties, broad efficacy and affordable prices. The current researches revealed that many kinds of herbs or compound herbal preparations possess good ability of antimicrobial and other properties that superior to those of traditional root canal disinfectants. However, herbal medicine itself and the studies have shortcomings. This paper will provide a review of various herbal alternatives that are being studied of late years.

2.Effects of HIF - 1α on mitochondrial function of cardiomyocytes stimulated by lipopolysaccharide
Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2012;21(8):836-839
ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of HIF-1α,on mitochondrial function of cardiomyocytes stimulated by lipopolysaccharide (LPS).MethodsCultured neonatal cardiomyocytes were randomly (random number) distributed to four groups (n =5).Control group:the neonatal cardiomyocytes were cultured in normal condition without any treatmeat; LPS group:cardiomyocytes were exposed to 1 μg/ml LPS for 2 h; YC-1 + LPS group:cardiomyocytes were exposed to 4 μmol/L YC-1 for 8 h before LPS treatment; YC-1 group:cardiomyocytes were exposed to 4μmol/L YC-1 for 8 h.As indexes of mitochondrial function,MMP,the content of ATP and the activity of cytochrome oxidase were measured,COX1/2 protein expression was determined by Western blotting. Results Compared with control group,LPS decreased MMP,the content of ATP and the activity of COX obviously ( P <0.05 ),depressed the expression of COX- 1 protein ( P < 0.05 ),induced the expression of COX-2 protein ( P < 0.05 ).Compared with the LPS group,MMP,the content of ATP and the activity of COX were markedly attenuated ( P < 0.01 ),the expression of COX-1 was significantly increased and the expression of COX-2 was decreased in theYC-1 +LPS group (P < 0.01 ).ConclusionsYC-1 attributes to the dysfunction of mitochondrial of myocyte by alterating the expression of COX-1 and 2, HIF-1α may attenuate the mitochondrial dysfunction of cadiomyocytes stimulated by LPS.
3.Diagnosis and emergency treatment of headache in children
Chinese Pediatric Emergency Medicine 2011;18(5):385-387
Headache is a common complaint in children and adolescents. While the majority of headaches are self-limited and benign, headaches occasionally herald a life-threatening illness such as meningitis, intracranial hemorrhage, brain tumor or hydrocephalus. The primary objective of the emergency department pediatrician is to diagnose and manage any acute life-threatening cause of headache. For the non-emergency headache, the goal is to relieve the pain and the associated symptoms.
5.Association of adipocyte fatty acid-binding protein with cholesterol metabolism
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2015;(7):625-628
Adipocyte fatty acid-binding protein ( FABP4 ) is abundantly expressed in adipocytes and macrophages, and the physiologic function of this lipid chaperone is involved in the intracellular trafficking and targeting of fatty acids inside cell. Studies have shown that FABP4 plays a significant role in cholesterol metabolism. FABP4 can affect some key gene expression for cholesterol metabolism, thus regulate the metabolism, storage, and trafficking of cholesterol. As the development of FABP4 inhibitors, drugs targeting FABP4 are possible and can lead to a novel therapeutic strategy to prevent and treat obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and atherosclerosis.
6.Effect of transforming growth factor-beta 1 on stromal cell-derived factor 1 expression in rat renal tubular epithelial cells
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;0(11):-
AIM: It has been proved that transforming growth factor-?1 (TGF-?1) has a close correlation with kidney fibrosis. This study investigated the effects of TGF-?1 on stromal cell-derived factor 1 (SDF-1) in rat renal tubular epithelial cells (NRK52E). METHODS: The experiment was carried out in the Division of Molecular Neurobiology, State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy, Sichuan University from March 2006 to May 2007. ①Rat renal tubular epithelial cells (NRK-52E, Monash Medical Center, Australia) were divided into normal control group, which were not treated with TGF-?1 (Cytola), and experimental group, which were subdivided into time-dependent groups: NRK-52E cells were incubated with TGF-?1 at the same concentration (2 ?g/L) for 6, 12, and 24 hours, and dose-dependent groups: NRK-52E cells were treated with TGF-?1 at different concentrations (2, 5, and 10 ?g/L) for 24 hours. ②The semi-quantitative calculation of SDF-1 protein expression in the cells treated with TGF-?1 at the concentration of 2 ?g/L for different time was accessed by immunocytochemistry to find the best time point. Then the variances of the mRNA and protein expression level in cells treated with TGF-?1 at different concentrations for 24 hours were detected by RT-PCR and Western-Blotting. RESULTS: ①The protein expression level of SDF-1 in NRK-52E cells treated with TGF-?1 for 12 and 24 hours was higher than for 0 hour (P 0.05). This indicated the SDF-1 expression reached a flat stage, and 24 hour was the bets time to study the dose dependence. ②Both the mRNA and protein expression level analyses demonstrated that the expression of SDF-1 in NRK-52E cells treated with 2 ?g/L TGF-?1 for 24 hours was significantly higher than that in normal control group (P
7.Reflections on establishing a medical quality and cost reporting system in the hospital
Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 1996;0(01):-
Through an analysis of the establishment of a medical quality and cost reporting system, the paper argues that quality management in the hospital is an eternal theme and that full awareness and high regard of quality management-related costs together with an effective control of them is an important guarantee for gaining advantages amidst quality competition.
8.Preparation of Nystatin Buccal Adhesive Tablets and Adhesiveness Study
China Pharmacy 2001;0(11):-
OBJECTIVE:To prepare nystatin buccal adhesive tablets and to study their properties of bioadhesion.METHODS:Nystatin buccal adhesive tablets of different formula matching ratio were prepared with carbomer(CP)and hy?droxy-propyl methyl cellulose(HPMC)as adhesive material and slow-release framework, and the adhesive power, duration of adhesion, swelling percentage and surface pH data of which were determined.RESULTS:There were great differences regarding bioadhesive properties among the adhesive tablets that of different formula matching ratio, the adhesive tablets that prepared in a formula matching ratio of1:1between CP to HPMC were of the best adhesiveness outcome.CONCLUSIONS:The buccal adhesive tablets were prepared successfully, and which can be used for the further study both in vivo and in vitro.
