Objective To investigate the effectiveness and safety of angled percutaneous vertebroplasty (PCVP) in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF) based on the meta-analysis method. Methods Randomized controlled trials (RCT) or retrospective cohort studies (RCS) regarding PCVP and percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) for the treatment of OVCF were retrieved from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CNKI, and Wanfang Data from inception to September 13, 2023. The literature was screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, and a meta-analysis was performed. The outcome indicators included postoperative Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score, postoperative Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) score, postoperative Cobb angle, postoperative vertebral height, operative time, intraoperative fluoroscopy times, bone cement injection volume, excellent and good rate of bone cement vertebral body distribution, bone cement leakage rate, and re-fracture rate. Results A total of 20 articles, including 12 RCT articles and 8 RCS articles, were included in this meta-analysis. Compared with the PVP group, the PCVP group had lower postoperative VAS scores (MD=-0.15, 95%CI, -0.18 to -0.11,
4.Research advances in cardiac stem cells
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2011;15(49):9299-9302
BACKGROUND: A large amount of studies have demonstrated that stem cells in the heart of mammal participate in heart self-renewal and endogenous repair.OBJECTIVE: To summarize the source, classification, features of cardiac stem cells and application in heart disease. METHODS: A computer-based online search of PubMed database was performed for articles published between January 2000 and December 2010 related to the source, classification, features of cardiac stem cells and its effects on myocardial regeneration with key words cardiac stem cell. Clinical studies and basic studies were all included. Repetitive studies and Meta analysis were excluded. Finally, 32 articles were included.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Cardiac stem cell is a type of stem cells in the heart, with properties of self-renewal and cloning proliferation. It can differentiate into cardiomyocyte and endothelial cell and plays a role in heart injury repair to improve heart function. Cardiac stem cells have been in vitro isolated, cultured and amplified to transplant into animal heart, which lays a foundation for clinical application. However, some questions remain poorly understood as to the homeostasis and dynamic changes, processes involved in their differentiation into heart functioning cells, as well as influential factors and regulation.
5.Research progress in prorenin and prorenin receptor
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2010;26(2):405-408
The renin-angiotension system (RAS) plays an important role in cardiovascular and renal physiology and diseases. Recent discoveries of prorenin and prorenin receptor add new contents to RAS. Renin and prorenin binding to the prorenin receptor not only target and facilitate angiotensin generation but also lead to activation of prorenin receptor signal transduction pathways, which is distinct from classical RAS signaling. In this paper, the construction, function and signal trasduction of prorenin, prorenin receptor and handle region peptide are reviewed.
6.Evaluation and rational use of Chinese patent medicines for diabetes
China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(10):-
Chinese patent medicines have unique advantages in treatment of diabetes. This article provides a comprehensive review of the classification, analysis and evaluation of the post-marketed Chinese patent medicines for diabetes and proposes that pure TCM preparations and Chinese/western compound preparations should be considered differently in regards to their clinical uses. TCM symptom-complex differentiation is the common guideline for rational use of both pure TCM preparations Chinese/western compound preparations. Moreover, the Chinese/western compound preparations should be used in accordance to the indications of the western medicine contained and strictly under the physician's instruction. Education and training of rational medication usage, basic and clinical study on post-marketed medicines are important measures to control and reduce medication risk.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2009;25(4):567-571
Objective: To investigate mandibular movement characteristics in patients with skeletal class Ⅲ malocclusion during chewing different foods. Methods: 14 skeletal class Ⅲ adult patients with mandibular asymmetry, 10 patients without mandibular asymmetry and 10 normal control cases were chosen to find out the different condylar and incisor movement area ratio based on the aid of ARCUSdigma mandibular moving track analysis system. Results: First, during chewing soft food, the condylar tracing length of skeletal class Ⅲ adult patients with mandibular asymmetry were significant different in sagittal and horizontal plane compared with the other two groups(P<0.05), while the incisor point trajectory difference was not statistically significant. Second, the condylar and incisor movement characteristic showed much more different among three samples during chewing brittle food(P<0.05). Third, in sagittal plane, the deflective condylar movement area ratio was significantly higher than that of the other two groups during chewing hand food(P<0.01). Conclusion: The mandibular movement in skeletal class Ⅲ adult patients are affected obviously by the shape and texture of food. Asymmetric lower mandible patients have a greater preponderance of this phenomenon.

Aim To explore the ethanol-induced apoptosis effect on hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) cells and its relationship to the expression of apoptosis associated genes, bax and bcl-2. Methods The cytotoxic effect of 20~ 100 mL/ L ethanol on HCC cell line HCC-9204 was tested by thiazolyl-blue (MTT) assay. Then apoptosis of HCC-9204 cells was induced with 60 mL/ L of ethanol for 6 h. The morphological change, DNA breakage and the change of DNA content of different cell cycles of the apoptotic cells were detected by May-Grunwald Giemsa(MGG) staining, and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay and flow cytometer respectively. The changes of expression level of Bax and Bcl-2 proteins were detected by immunocytochemical staining and image analysis. Results The higher the concentration of ethanol was, the stronger the cytotoxic effect on HCC-9204 cells was. 60 mL/ L of ethanol could lead to obviously morphological apoptotic changes of HCC-9204 cells, and majority of the cells were TUNEL positive by TUNEL labeling assay. Typical apoptotic sub G1 peak was observed by flow cytometer. The level of Bax protein expression increased significantly after induced with 60 mL/ L of ethanol for 6 h, no expression of Bcl 2 were found before and after induced with ethanol. Conclusion Low dose of ethanol can induce apoptosis of HCC-9204 cells obviously, and occurance of the apoptosis is related to the increase of the level of Bax protein expression.
