AIM: To investigate the immunoloregulation effect of Angelica polysaccharide extracted from Angelica Sinensis (Oliv.) Diels. METHODS: Index of immune organs were weighed and calculated. Phagocytosis of mononuclear macrophage (M) were determined with carbon particle clearance test. Spectrophotography was used to estimate levels of serum hemolysis IgG, IgM. The cell proliferation was measured by MTT assay. RESULTS: In certain doses (10-100 mg/kg), Angelica polysaccharide significantly increased phagocytic function and spleen index in immunosuppression mice caused by hydrocortisone, while showed no obviouse influnence on thymus index. It also remarkble decreased levels of serum hemolysis IgG, IgM. In vitro experiments, Angelica polysaccharide could increase the proliferation of mouse spleen cell and macrophage. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that Angelica polysaccharide has potent enhancement on non specific immunity, however, it could suppress humoral immunity.

Objective To explore the relationship between HPV infection and the incidence of cervical canc-er and precancerous lesions in women.Methods 108 patients with cervical disease who accepted cervical screening were chosen as the research subjects, and they were given colposcopy and pathological examination, hybrid capture 2 generation method for quantitative detection of HPV-DNA content,RLU/CO was used for viral load and HPV-DNA content was more than 1ng/L(RLU/CO>1) can be judged as positive.Results The positive rates of HPV-DNA was 35.00%,67.74%and 95.83%of chronic cervicitis,cervical cancer precursor lesions( CIN) and invasive cervical squamous cell carcinoma,the difference was statistically significant(χ2 =10.73,P<0.05) .The positive rates of HPV DNA in patients with typeⅠCIN,typeⅡCIN,typeⅢCIN were 44.44%,62.50%and 95.00%respective-ly,the difference was statistically significant(χ2 =11.43,P<0.05).HPV-DNA and the positive rate of cervical cancer patients with histological grade,clinical stage,lymph node metastasis,there was no significant correlation(χ2 =1.76,1.44,1.89, all P >0.05 ) .Conclusion HPV -DNA positive rate increased with the severity of cervical lesions in patients,but it had no significant correlation with clinical and pathological parameters,the active prevention of HPV infection of cervical cancer prevention had important significance.

Aim To establish a mouse model of AIDS and observe the effects of Combivir,an anti-AIDS drug.Methods The model was set up by infecting infant mice with L6565 murine leukemia virus.Quantitative RT-PCR method was used to measure viral load in plasma.The percentage of CD4~+ and CD8~+ lymphacytes was estimated by flowcytometric method.The number of WBC,RBC and marrow karyote was counted.indexes of immune organs were weighed and calculated.Results Compared with control,the viral load in plasma in the model was at high level.The percentage of CD4~+ lymphocyte,the ratio of CD4~+/CD8~+,the number of RBC and marrow karyote,and thymus index were significantly decreased in the model,while the number of WBC and spleen index was remarkably increased.Conclusion AIDS patient symptom is shown in mouse infected with L6565 murine leukemia virus.This suggests that this model is likely to be used as a mice model to evaluate the effect of anti-AIDS drugs.

Sperm ultrastructural abnormalities are often associated with sperm motility, the integrity of genetic material, and the fertilization potential. The investigation of sperm ultrastructural abnormalities is based on the evolution of microscopy techniques. In his paper, we review the improvement of the microscopy techniques and the ultrastructure of several specific morphological defects and he apoptotic spermatogenic cells in order to expound the significance of sperm ultrastructural observation in clinical practice. We deem it necessary to analyze the sperm ultrastructure before exploring the pathology and adopting assisted reproductive technology for some special patients with teratozoospermia.

Objective To determine the cognitive profile of mild cognitive impairment due to subcortieal small vessel disease(MCI-SSVD)and mild cognitive impairment caused by Alzheimer's disease(MCI-AD)and to establish the best way of differentiating.Methods Extensive neuropsychological tests covenng 5 cognitive domains were performed on 45 MCI-SSVD patients,30 MCI-AD patients,and 61healthy controls.The impaired domains in patient groups were determined.Tests valuable in discriminating MCI-SSVD and MCI-AD were established using logistie regression analysis.Results Both patient groups showed impairments in multiple cognitive domains.The auditory verbal learning test immediate recall(control group 55.48±5.33;MCI-SSVD group 38.55±8.04;MCI-AD group 34.93±8.79;F=113.407,P=0.000),short time delayed recall(control group 13.34±1.38;MCI-SSVD group 8.47±2.18;MCI-AD group 4.06±2.87;F=216.284,P=0.000),and long time delayed recall(control group13.18±1.19;MCI-SSVD group 8.58±2.02;MCI-AD group 3.93±2.84;F=239.394,P=0.000)impaired most.Compared with MCI-SSVD,MCI-AD patients did worse in memory assessments(P=0.000),but better in mental processing and visuoconstruction(P=0.000-0.023).Two tests tapping memory and processing speed in combination could identify 93.3%MCI-SSVD patients and 93.3% MCI-AD patients correctly.Conclusions Current study indicates that both MCI-SSVD and MCI-AD,varying significantly in memory and mental processing speed,have a multiple-domain cognitive deficit,with memory impaired most seriously.Tests involving these 2 domains might be useful in differentiating MCI-SSVD from MCI-AD.

BACKGROUND:Stem cel s with wide variety of sources have the potential of differentiation and self-renewal. In additional, autologous stem cel s can avoid immune rejection after transplantation, and thus it has become one of the most promising alternative strategies for tissue/organ transplantation. However, due to the adverse environments at injured sites, such as oxidative stress and inflammation, current stem cel transplantation efficacy is relatively low. OBJECTIVE:To review the effects of oxidative stress on stem cel s and on their transplantation efficiency as wel as relevant mechanisms. METHODS:PubMed database was searched by the first author for relevant articles about stem cel s published from 1990 to 2015. The keywords were“stem cel transplantation, stem cel , oxidative stress, molecular mechanism”. After eliminating literatures which had poor authority or similar content, 97 articles were involved in result analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Different types of stem cel s have different basal endogenous antioxidant stress levels. Oxidative stress through multiple molecular pathways causes cel aging, apoptosis and cancer, which also can result in apoptosis of cancer cel s. Stem cel s can adjust endogenous antioxidant levels through multiple paths. To improve the endogenous antioxidant stress level using a variety of methods can increase stem cel transplantation efficiency and prevent stem cel cancerization due to oxidative stress, which makes the clinical application of stem cel transplantation therapy safer and more popular.

Objective To investigate the possible mechanism of the gap junctional influence on the change in permeability of the blood-brain barrier(BBB)after reperfusion subsequent to cerebral ischemia.Methods In the test laser scanning confocal microscope(LSCM)was used to investigate the change of Cx43 levels and distribution.The MCAO/R model was induced using intraluminal suture technique first described by Longa with a little modification.A total of 60 Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups:the sham-operation group,control group,octanol-treatment group and DMSO vehicle control group. Control group were further divided into seven subgroups at different time points of reperfusion after middle cerebral artery occlusion.To observe the change in permeability of BBB,Evans blue(EB)in the brain tissue was surveyed by the means of EB fluorescent quantitation.Octanol-treatment group and DMSO vehicle control group were done at the point of the peak of permeability of BBB.Octanol,the specific blocker for gap junctions(GJ)was used in an intervention study.To compare the amount of EB with the same point of groups,the influence of octanol on BBB permeability was investigated.Results At 3 h of reperfusion after cerebral ischemia for 2 h,the permeability of BBB began to increase,reached the peak at 24 h of reperfusion and was still elevated at 72 h.The Cx43 expression formed into bigger plague and remained linear disposition in the penumbra after reperfusion subsequent to cerebral ischemia.Octanol group was done at 24 h of reperfusion after cerebral ischemia.The amount of EB of octanol group((4.924?0.296)?g/g)was significantly lower than that of corresponding operation control group(5.543?0.506)?g/g.Conclusions (1)Cx43 expression is concentrated around vessels in brain.The Cx43 forms into bigger plague and the function maybe strengthens after reperfusion.Gap junction might aggravate the disruption of BBB.(2) Octanol,the specific blocker of gap junctions,could effectively prevent the permeability of BBB from increasing and has a protective effect on BBB.

AIM: To compare the visual acuity and contrast sensitivity of eyes with different corneal spherical aberration implanted with the same aspherical IOL and evaluate the effect of different ocular spherical aberration on visual performance after phacoemulsification.
METHODS:It was a prospective case series study. Forty-six eyes of thirty-nine age-related cataract patients in our department were included. The patients were divided into 3 groups according to the value of preoperative corneal spherical aberration. Eyes with corneal spherical aberration≤0. 2μm were assigned to group A, those with corneal spherical aberration >0. 2μm and ≤0. 3μm to group B, and those with corneal spherical aberration≥ 0. 3μm to group C. All patients underwent phacoemulcification and recieved AcrySof IQ aspheric IOL. Uncorrected visual acuity ( UCVA ) , best-corrected visual acuity( BCVA) , contrast sensitivity, and total ocular higher - order aberrations for a 6. 0mm pupil were recorded 3mo postoperatively. ANOVA were used to analyze the data.
RESULTS: There were no significant differences in UCVA and BCVA between the 3 groups (P=0. 287, 0. 115). Contrast sensitivity was no statistically significant difference between the 3 groups at any spatial frequency under photopic、 mesopic, and mesopic with glare conditions (P>0. 05). With a 6. 0mm pupil diameter, root mean square values for total ocular higher - order aberrations were lower in groups A and B than that in group C (P=0. 000). The difference of total ocular spherical aberration was statistically significant between the 3 groups (P=0. 000). Coma and trefoil were similar between the groups (P=0. 788,0. 590), with no statistically significant differences.CONCLUSION:Implantation of the same aspherical IOL in eyes with different corneal spherical aberration results in similar visual acuity and contrast sensitivity. Small differences of ocular spherical aberration after phacoemulsification have no effect on visual performance.

However, it could suppress humoral immunity.
