1.MR Imaging of Ischemic Heart Disease .
Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 2004;50(2):81-87
MRI has achieved many technical advances in the spatial resolution, temporal resolution, contrast resolution, signal-to-noise ratio, and postprocessing technique. At one session of examination within a tolerable time, MRI can provide integrated information on coronary artery stenosis, systolic dysfunction, myocardial perfusion, and myocardial viability. Delayed enhancement study after contrast administration is highly reproducible and offers unique vision for myocardial viability in the patients with myocardial infarction. Cardiac MRI is very cost-effective and may be one-stop solution for the evaluation of ischemic heart disease.

8.Imunological characterization of antigens from cysticercus and sparganum and their application to immunodiagnosis 1. Immunological characteristics of crude antigenic components from Cysticercus cellulosae.
The Korean Journal of Parasitology 1988;26(4):245-254
We studied the serological reaction between various antigenic components from Cysticercus cellulosae and IgG antibodies in sera of cysticercosis, sparganosis, hydatidosis patients and normal humans by ELISA and EITB. In serological tests by ELISA, we recognized cross reaction of Cysticercus antigenic components with IgG antibodies in heterologous sera such as sparganosis and hydatidosis patients or normal humans. The crude antigenic components of Cysticercus showed lower ELISA sensitivity in homologous sera from cysticercosis patients than heterologous sera from hydatidosis patients. A total of 31 polypeptide bands with 260 KDa-22 KDa molecular weights were detected by SDS-PAGE, and 11 of them showed strong intensity. Total 22 components of them were recognized by IgG antibodies in cysticercosis patients sera. However, 12 of them were recognized also by normal human sera, 11 were by sparganosis sera, and 21 were by hydatidosis patients sera. The crude antigenic components of 104 KDa, 82 KDa, 72 KDa, 59 KDa and 34 KDa molecular weights were nonspecific ones, which cross-reacted with sera of either cysticercosis, sparganosis, hydatidosis patients or normal humans.

9.Treatment of Facial Wrinkels with Char-Free Carbon Dioxide Laser and Erbium: YAG Laser.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1999;37(2):177-184
BACKGROUND: Laser facial skin resurfacing has become a method of treatment for photoaging and pigmentary conditions. Although excellent results can be obtained by high-energy, pulsed carbon dioxide(CO2) laser, significant morbidity exists due to the considerable thermal damage to the skin. The Erbium: Yttrium Aluminum Garnet(Er: YAG) laser, with a wavelength of 2940 nm, is well absorbed in water. This leads to a very small zone of thermal necrosis, compared ta the CO2 laser. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of the combined use of the char-free CO2 laser and the Er: YAG laser in the treatment of facial wrinkles. METHODS: Forty-six patients, aged between 30 and 68 years, with facial wrinkles, were evaulated. Two types of resurfacing laser systems were utilized in this study, a high-energy, short-pulsed CO2 laser and a Er: YAG 1aser. Wrinkle improvement was evaulated by the patients satisfaction, clinical improvement, and photographic analysis before and after the resurfacing procedure. RESULTS: Twenty-six of the 46 patients had greater than an 80% improvement, and 19 patients had a 60-80% improvement. Only one patient showed a 50% or less improvement. CONCLUSIONS: The combination of char-free CO2 laser and Er: YAG laser for facial wrinkles is a safe and effective modality for laser skin resurfacing.
