International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2010;32(6):500-501
Objective To observe clinical effect of treating bronchial asthma in the acute attack with xiaoqinglong decoction combined with western medicine. Methods 50 patients with bronchial asthma were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was treated with theophylline sustained release tablets, 0.1 g~0.2 g for each time, twice a day, salbutamol sulfate (inhaled), 200 μg (2 spray) for each time, twice a day, beclomethasone dipropionate aerosol (inhaled),100 μg (2 spray) for each time, twice a day, antibiotics, oxygen inhalation when necessary, infusion, and correcting water-electrolyte and acid-base imbalance if necessary. Based on the control group, the treatment group was treated with Xiaoqinglong decoction for continuous 3 courses, once a day, 7 days as a course. The clinical effect and adverse reaction were observed between control group and treatment group after the treatment. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group was 84.6% and 66.7% respectively. The clinical effect in the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group (χ2=2.762, P<0.05). Conclusion Xiaoqinglong decoction combined with western medicine has better effects bronchial asthma in the acute attack than western medicine.
2.Phacoemulsification and low powered posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation in high myopia cataract
Recent Advances in Ophthalmology 2001;21(3):182-184
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of phacoemulsification and low powered posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation in high myopia. Methods Phacoemulsification was performed on 128 eyes of 84 patients with cataract in high myopia through scleral tunnel incision. Average phaco time was 201s and ultrasonic energy was 33.8%. Results The visual acuity 0.4 or better on the first day, in the first week and first month after the operations was in 71.1%,75.8%,79.7%respectively. Three months after surgery, 22.6% reached the vision of 1.0. The main cause of the poor result is due to the pathologic changes of the fundus in high myopia. The major complications were corneal edema (4.3%), fibrinous exudate in anterior chamber (1.6%) and rupture of posterior capsule (2.3%). Conclusion Phacoemulsification and low powered posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation offers advantages of better rehabilitation of visual acuity, proper correction of ametropia, prevention of retinal detachment and is an unitable technique for highly myopia cataract patients.
3.Bi-modality image classification based on independent component analysis.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(5):1031-1036
We in the present research proposed a classification method that applied infomax independent component analysis (ICA) to respectively extract single modality features of structural magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) and positron emission tomography (PET). And then we combined these two features by using a method of weight combination. We found that the present method was able to improve the accurate diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Compared AD to healthy controls (HC): the study achieved a classification accuracy of 93.75%, with a sensitivity of 100% and a specificity of 87.64%. Compared MCI to HC: classification accuracy was 89.35%, with a sensitivity of 81.85% and a specificity of 99.36%. The experimental results showed that the bi-modality method performed better than the individual modality in comparison to classification accuracy.

6.Mechanisms of the neuroprotection of astrocyte during cerebral ischemic disease
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(03):-
Cerebral vascular diseases throw great threat to human health, among which ischemic stoke accounts for 50%~80%.Rencent results showed that astrocyte can protect the neurons during cerebral ischemia diseases via maintenance extracellular K+ homeostasis, elimination of oxygen free radicals, uptake the excess excitatory amino acid, release of neurotrophic factors and regulation the functions of ion channels. This article reviews the recently published works about the mechanisms of the neuroprotective effects of astrocyte during the cerebral ischemic diseases.
7.Death causes of patients with acute traumatic spinal cord injury
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2001;7(2):62-63
ObjectiveTo analysis the death causes of patients with acute traumatic spinal cord injury(ATSCI) during the initial four months, and determine the clinical predictors of mortality. MethodsMultiple factors that could contribute to mortality were evaluated in the retrospective study. Results3.3% of ATSCI patients died during the initial four months. The death causes were multiple factors inculding arrest of heart and respiration resulting from excessive stimulus to trachea and bronchus, interventions of surgical procedures, pneumonia, multiple organ failure, jam of sputum, and inhalation of food, etc. ConclusionsThe leading causes were the arrest of heart and respiration resulting from excessive stimulus to trachea and bronchus, interventions of surgical procedures and pneumonia. The predictors of mortality include nurological level at C5 and above, motor index of upper extremities less than 6, copious sputum, disability of cough, low blood oxygen pressure especially with progressive decrease, and neurological deterioration, etc.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(08):-
Objective: To study the influence of emodin on fluorouracil(5-FU) induced apoptosis by elevating reactive oxygen species(ROS)of human hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines HepG2. Methods: The intracellular ROS levels were detected when exposed to various concentrations of emodin for the indicated periods by flow cytometry(FCM).MTT assay and FCM were used to assess cell viability, apoptosis and cell cycle distribution after treatment with 5-FU alone or combined with various concentrations of emodin.Transmission electron microscope was applied to observe the ultrastructural change of cells. Results: Emodin elevated intracellular ROS level in a dose-and time-dependent manner, and intracellular ROS level of HepG2 cell incubated in 4 ?g/ml emodin reached peak in 2-4 h.Emodin combined with 5-FU sensitized HepG2 cell to 5-FU induced apoptosis via generation of ROS in a time-and dose-dependent manner. Conclusion: Enhancement of ROS generation by emodin may be a novel strategy to improve the curative effect of chemotherapeutic drugs.
