International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2006;0(02):-
Traditional sequences of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) such as T1-weighed imaging, T2-weighed imaging, and fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) imaging can sensitively detect the subacute and chronic intracranial hemorrhage; gradient echo sequence can detect various stages of intracranial hemorrhage, but there is no correlation between the signal intensity of the hematoma and the time of the presence of hematoma. Diffusion-weighted imaging and apparent diffusion coefficient may provide more information about the center and surrounding areas of hematoma, as well as the hemorrhagic tendency after infarction.

Aim To investigate the effect of orientin on proliferation and differentiation of 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes and on insulin resistance(IR) in 3T3-L1 adipocytes and the possible mechanisms. Methods MTT assay and oil red O staining were applied to investigate the proliferation and the differentiation of 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes, respectively. The intracellular triglyceride(TG) contents were detected by enzymatic analysis.IR model was induced with dexamethasone.A fluorescent glucose analogue, 2-NBDG, was used to measure the rate of glucose uptake.Western blot was used to detect the protein level of GLUT4 and phosphorylation of AMPK and ACC.The GLUT4 translocation was measured by fluorescent-immunohistochemistry.Results Orientin decreased the formation of lipid droplets and intracellular TG contents(P<0.01) in a concentration-dependent manner(P<0.05), but it had no obvious effects on the cell vitality.Under the IR state, orientin significantly increased 3T3-L1 adipocytes glucose uptake(P<0.05).Meanwhile, orientin up-regulated the protein expression of p-AMPK, p-ACC, and enhanced GLUT4 translocation and its expression. Conclusion Orientin can effectively inhibit the differentiation of 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes and increase insulin sensitivity due to the activation of AMPK/GLUT4 signal pathway.

Microbiology 1992;0(06):-
Lipase from Burkholderia cepacia complex is one of the most versatile biocatalyst and is used widely in many biotechnological application fields including detergent additives, the resolution of racemic compounds, etc. Based on the known whole genomic information of B. cepacia, both ampicillin and kanamycin were added to the TB-T media, the traditional selective media, to screen B. cepacia complex strains from rhizosphere soil samples. The single colonies on the plates with the modified TB-T media were then qualitatively determined the ability to produced the extracellular lipase in the rhodamine B-olive oil agar plates. Thirty-five strains of lipolytic pseudo-B. cepacia complex were isolated and the positive rate of lipolytic bacteria was 65%. Among them, 15 pseudo-B. cepacia complex strains with the tolerance to benzene, n-hexane and n-heptane at the concentration of 10% (V/V) were selected and identified by the recA gene sequence. All of the 15 lipolytic bacteria belonged to the B. cepacia complex.
