Objective To investigate the effects of platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF) on the expression of ?-smooth muscle actin(?-SMA) of cultured human retinal pigment epithelium cells(RPE). Methods Cultured human RPE cells of the 4-6 th passages were divided into two groups: Delbecco′s modified Eagle′s medium (DMEM) and 2%DMEM (20 g/L foeta calf serum+DMEM). PDGF (0,1,50 ng/ml) was added to medium. The expression of ?-SMA was detected and quantitatively analyzed by image process of immunofluorescence. Results PDGF stimulated the expression of ?-SMA of human RPE cells. In group of DMEM, The rate of RPE of ?-SMA expression was 40%-50% and the intension of fluorescence was 8 08 without PDGF. After stimulated by PDGF(1 ng/ml,50 ng/ml), the rates were 80% and 90% respectively, and the intension of fluorescence were 12.35 and 17.23. In 2%DMEM group, The rates of RPE of ?-SMA expression were 85% without PDGF, and 95% ,100% respectively treated with PDGF (1 ng/ml,50 ng/ml). The intension of fluorescence was 14.79 without PDGF, and after stimulated by PDGF, they were 16.28 at 1 ng/ml and 21.36 at 50 ng/ml,which was 2.7 times stronger than that in DMEM group without PDGF. Conclusion PDGF could stimulate RPE cells to express ?-SMA.

Objective:To explore the clinical characteristics, diagnosis, and treatments of adrenal insufficiency (AI) in the patients with acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS),and to improve the clinician's understanding of the disease and provide evidences for its diagnosis and treatments. Methods:The clinical data of one patient with AIDS and AI were retrospectively analyzed and the diagnosis and treatments were summarized, and the relative literatures were reviewed. Results:The patient was clearly diagnosed as AIDS and AI after relevant examinations. The symptoms such as fatigue, nausea and vomiting of the patient were disappeared, the food intake of the patient was increased, and the electrolyte was normal after some treatments such as hormone replacement therapy (oral prednisone acetate 5.0 mg at 8:00 am.and 2.5 mg at 4:00 pm.) and symptomatic treatments. The patient died of a severe opportunistic infection when followed up for 37 d.Conclusion:The possibility of AI should be taken into account when the patients with AIDS have unexplained symptoms such as anorexia, nausea, weight loss and more characteristic manifestations such as orthostatic hypotension, hyponatremia or hyperkalemia.Early administration of glucocorticoid replacement therapy is feasible and effective.

Objective To explore the prevalence of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) among elderly veterans. Methods 2 674 veterans ( aged 60 years and over) from 26 military sanatorium in Shijiazhuang city were studied. The Mini-Mental State Examination, Global Deterioration Scale, Activity of Daily Living, Hachinski Ischemic Scale and Hamilton Depression Scale were served as screening tools. Results The prevalence of total MCI was 8 08% in elderly people. The standardized prevalence of MCI was 6 87% in male and 10 38% in female (P

Objective:To explore the clinical characteristics and prognosis of newly diagnosed CD5-positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).Methods:The clinical data of 19 newly diagnosed CD5-positive DLBCL patients in Tenth People's Hospital of Tongji University and Ninth People's Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine between January 2015 and December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. Their clinical characteristics and laboratory indexes were observed; Kaplan-Meier method was used for survival analysis, and Cox proportional risk model was used to make multifactor analysis of the prognostic factors. Results:The median age of 19 newly diagnosed CD5-positive DLBCL patients was 63 years (34-76 years). All 19 patients included 13 cases with Ann Arbor Ⅲ-Ⅳ stage; 12 cases with lactate dehydrogenase higher than the normal value limit, 9 cases with international prognostic index scores ≥ 4, 13 cases with B symptoms, 10 cases with Ki-67 positive index ≥ 80%, 15 cases with more than 1 lymph extra nodal organ involvement and 8 cases with tumor mass (mass diameter ≥ 7 cm). The 2-year progression-free survival (PFS) rate was 47.4% and 2-year overall survival (OS) rate was 63.2%. Univariate analysis showed that Ann Arbor stage, tumor mass, lymph extra nodal involvement and ≥ 4 courses of intrathecal injection were associated with OS (all P < 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that Ann Arbor stage (stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ vs. stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ: HR = 0.158, 95% CI 0.031-0.803, P = 0.026), tumor mass (tumor diameter < 7 cm vs. tumor diameter ≥ 7 cm: HR = 0.076, 95% CI 0.009-0.637, P = 0.018)and ≥ 4 courses of intrathecal injection (yes vs. no: HR = 9.130, 95% CI 1.062-78.157, P = 0.044) were independent influencing factors for OS. Conclusions:Newly diagnosed CD5-positive DLBCL is highly aggressive and susceptible to extra nodal infiltration. Ann Arbor stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ, tumor mass, and not receiving ≥ 4 courses of intrathecal injection are independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of CD5-positive DLBCL patients.

Coronary microcirculation dysfunction (CMVD) is an important risk factor for the prognosis of re-perfused ischemic heart. Recent studies showed that the evaluation of CMVD has significant impact on both the early diagnosis of heart diseases relevant to blood supply and prognosis after myocardial reperfusion. In this review, the definition of CMVD from the perspective of pathophysiology was clarified, the principles and features of the state-of-the-art imaging technologies for CMVD assessment were reviewed from the perspective of engineering and the further research direction was promoted.
