Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2009;28(5):572-574
Objective To investigate complications in patients after noncardiac thoracotomy in hypothyroidism with ST changes. Methods Sixty one patients with hypothyroidism undergoing noncardiac thoracotomy were divided into ST segment change group(28 patients having ST segment depression≥0.05 mV) and controls(33 patients) according to the results of Holter. All patients were added with thyroid hormone, until the function of thyroid gland was normal before thoracotomy. The myocardial ischemia was measured by Holter within 48 hours after thoracotomy. Serum thyroid hormones was examined by radioimmunoassay during, before and after thoracotomy. And cardiovascular events were foliowed-up to hospital. Results Before and after thoracotomy serum TT3 in ST segment change group was (1.30±0.41), (2.09±0.45)nmol/L, TT4 was (80.56±30.28), (84.55±33.57) nmol/L, respectively; compared with the control group[TT3: (1.43±0.52), (2.38±0.51)nmol/L, TT4:(82.70± 29.43), (93.47±35.02)nmol/L], no significant differences were found(all P>0.05). After thoracotomy, 24 patients occurred myocardial ischemia, 10 patients occurred cardiovascular events in ST segment change group; 8 patients occurred myocardial ischemia, a patient occurred cardiovascular events in control group, there were significant differences between two groups(χ2=22.95,10.95, all P<0.05). The positive predictive value of ST segment change in Holter detection was 36% (10/28) recording in cardiovascular events of patients with cardiovascular disease undergoing noncardiac thoracotomy and hypothyroidism, negative predictive value was 97%(32/33). Conclusions Myocardial ischemia and other cardiovascular events tend to occur in hypothyroidism patients with ST segment change after noncardiac thoracotomy. ST segment change of preoperative Hoher detection recording cardiovascular events of hypothyroidism patients undergoing noncardiac thoracotomy has certain predictive value.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(04):-
Objective To detect genetic alterations in pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA), and to investigate the mechanism of development of this neoplasm. Methods Three patients with PXA were studied. Comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) was performed to study chromosomal imbalances in PXA. Using immunohistochemical analysis, the expression of EGFR was detected in PXA. Results Using CGH analysis, genetic imbalance was detected on at least one chromosome for each case. One patient revealed multiple genetic alterations, including gains of 2p14-pter, 4p15-pter, 7p21-qter, 11q24-qter, 12 and 15q14-qter,as well as losses of 8p11.2-pter, 9p11-p23, 10p12-pter, and 13q14-qter. This patient experienced tumor recurrence and died one year later. Gain on Chromosome 7 and loss on Chromosome 8p were demonstrated in 2 of the 3 patients. Immunohistochemically, no EGFR positive reaction was found in all cases. Conclusion Detection of genetic alterations is very important in understanding the pathogenesis of PXA.

National Journal of Andrology 2014;20(8):723-729
OBJECTIVETo systematically evaluate prostate health index (PHI) in predicting the results of prostate biopsy in the diagnosis of prostate cancer.
METHODSWe retrieved the literature relevant to the value of PHI in predicting prostate cancer at prostate biopsy published from the inception to February 2014 in the databanks of PubMed (1966 - 2014), CNKI (1982 - 2014), VIP (1989 - 2014), and Cochrane Library (1999 - 2014). According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria and retrieval strategies, we extracted the data, evaluated the quality of the included literature, and performed meta-analysis using the Meta-Disc 1.4 software.
RESULTSTotally, 64 articles were identified, of which 52 were excluded and 12 included with 1 430 cases of prostate cancer and 2 159 normal or BPH controls. There was heterogeneity among the included studies. Based on the random effect model, in predicting the results of prostate biopsy in the diagnosis of prostate cancer, serum PHI exhibited a pooled sensitivity of 55.1% (95% CI: 0.525 - 0.577), a pooled specificity of 71.5% (95% CI: 0.695 - 0.734), a positive likelihood ratio (P-LR) of 2.379 (95% CI: 1.922 - 2.943), a negative likelihood ratio (N-LR) of 0.515 (95% CI: 0.428 - 0.619), a diagnosis odds ratio (DOR) of 5.268 (95% CI: 3.870 - 7.170), a summary receiver operating characteristic curve--area under the curve (SROC AUC) of 0.7578, and a Q * index of 0.6999.
CONCLUSIONSerum PHI plays a role of auxiliary diagnosis in detecting prostate cancer and can be used in the prediction of the results of prostate biopsy.

Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2021;44(1):76-79
Objective:To explore the value of the elasticity contrast index (ECI) in differential diagnosis of thyroid nodules, and contrast the effect of 4 different methods on measuring ECI.Methods:A total of 122 patients with 131 thyroid nodules in Binzhou Medical University Hospital from May 2018 to May 2019 were enrolled, and elastography was performed in 4 different ways such as in axial plane for internal (AI), axial plane for periintranodular (AP), longitudinal plane for internal (LI) and longitudinal plane for periintranodular (LP). The cut-off values for predicting malignant nodules in 4 different ways were determined separately using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results:There were 54 benign and 77 malignant ones in 131 nodules. The ECI in AI, AP, LI and LP in benign thyroid nodules was significantly lower than that in malignant ones: 2.10 (1.48, 2.34) vs. 3.07 (2.73, 3.87), 1.91 (1.64, 2.18) vs. 2.62 (2.24, 3.07), 2.19 (1.59, 2.39) vs. 3.00 (2.72, 3.63) and 1.89 (1.71, 2.16) vs. 2.66 (2.21, 3.10), and there was statistical difference ( P<0.05). Among the 4 different ways, the largest area under curve was achieved in AI with 0.925, and the corresponding optimal diagnostic threshold was 2.43 (with 90.9% sensitivity, 87.0% specificity, 88.5% accuracy, 89.7% positive predictive value and 86.8% negative predictive value). Conclusions:ECI is helpful for conventional ultrasound to diagnose thyroid nodules as malignant or benign. The best value is obtained in AI.
