Objective To investigate the accuracy of staging gastric cancer with multi slice spiral CT (MSCT) .Methods MSCT,3D reformation images and CTVE were performed in 39 patients with gastric cancer confirmed by gastroscopy and biopsy. The MSCT images were compared with the pathological findings. Results The accuracy of staging gastric cancer by MSCT in combination with 3D reformation images and CTVE was 86.7%. Conclusion The accuracy of staging gastric cancer by MSCT in combination with 3D reformative images and CTVE is very high.It is valuable to be extended clinically.

Objective To explore protective effect of Heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) on irradiation-induced endothelial cell apoptosis. Methods Human endothelial cell line EA.hy926 were administered with or without HO-1 activator Copp and/or HO-1 inhibitor Znpp, respectively. Then, cells were treated with or without 8 Gy radiation. The HO-1 protein expression of cells were assessed with Western blotting and apoptosis of cells treated with irradiation were evaluated with flow cytometry. Moreover, cytochrome C releasing into cytosol were also determined by Western blotting. Results In PBS+R group,HO-1 protein expression of EA.hy926 was low posterior to irradiation. When cells were preconditioned with Copp and/or Znpp, then recieved with 8Gy irradiation, the HO-1 protein expression of EA.hy926 increased significantly in comparision with the PBS+R group(P

Objective To evaluate arterial stiffness in middle-age and elderly patients on the treatment of hemodialysis and to investigate the risk factors of arterial stiffness. Method A total of 87 in middle-age and elderly patients on the treatment of hemodialysis were enrolled. The distensibility coefficient (DC) of the common carotid artery was evaluated by an ultrasonic phase-locked echo-tracking system. Serum albumin, total cholesterol (TC), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), triglyceride (TG), glucose, creatinine, calcium, phosphorus, and intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) were determined with well established methods. Results The ages of 87 patients ranged from 45 to 81 years, and the duration of treatment with hemodialysis was varied from 3 to 204 months . The carotid DC was ( 13.39 ± 5.32 ) × 10-3/kPa in middle-age and elderly patients on hemodialysis. In stepwise multiple regression analysis, systolic blood pressure (β = -0.349, P < 0.001), age (β=-0.323, P < 0.001), diabetes (β =-0.195,P = 0.027), and serum calcium (β =-0.276,P =0.002) were independently correlated with carotid DC. Conclusions Systolic blood pressure, age, diabetic, serum calcium were independent determinants for arterial stiffness of carotid artery in middle-age and elderly patients on hemodialysis.

Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1993;0(05):-
Objective To study the importance of back pain-lassitude as the key symptom in the differentiation of kidney-deficiency syndrome in diabetes patients. Methods Totally 460 diabetics were divided into the pain group(154 cases)and non-pain group(306 cases). The 39 symptoms, signs and behavior were abstracted and each patient was scored according to the details of kidney deficiency scale to analyze the constitution and distribution of kidney-deficiency syndrome. Results There was a significant difference in the total symptom score of the two groups(P

Pulmonary function testing (PFT) is a widely used method in early screening, severity evaluating and outcome predicting of lung diseases. In the practice of standardized training of pulmonary function tests, through the problem-based theory teaching and participative teaching and so on, we made the lung function inspection personnel to realize the examination operation essentials, and through situational teaching, we also cultivated the inspection personnel to master the communication skills with the children, so as to improve their professional quality, and ensure the effectiveness of the quality control of pulmonary function.

Objective: Our aim was to purity the modifier protein of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (G3PD) from African green monkey Vero-E6 line. Methods:Exposure of Vero-E6 cells to medium with a reduced K concentration (3.2 mmol/L) stimulated the growth and activation of G3PD. The increase of enzyme activity was mediated by a cytosolic modifier protein that was purified using affinity and anion-exchange high-performance liquid chromatograph. Results:The apparent molecular mass of the protein was 62 kDa. Western blotting and quantiative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay showed that the amount of modifier protein increased progressively for 2 hours in cells exposed to low-K+ medium, and then returned to the control value, a kinetic profile similar to that the modifier protein is a constituent of renal epithelial cells and accummulated transiently in the low-K+ mitogenic signal. Conclusion: We obtained a modifer protein from monkey kidney epithelial cells (Vero-E6). It could activate G3PD and cell growth.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(05):-
This review introduced the anti-tumor effects of non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and summarized their possible molecular mechanisms according to recent abroad literatures and our research results. Some evidence showed that the anti-tumor mechanisms of NSAIDs were different in various tumors.NSAIDs decreased the biosynthesis of PGE_2 and regulated the expressions of downstream correlated genes and proteins through restraining abnormal expression of COX-2 in certain neoplasms, which resulted in the inhibition of tumor angiogenesis and proliferation as well as induced apoptosis. But in other cancer cells, NSAIDs, as activators of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor ? (PPAR?), induced COX-2 expression, promoted the biosynthesis of cyclopentenone prostaglandins (cyPGs). cyPGs further induced tumor cell apoptosis with PPAR? dependently or PPAR? independently. Since their special mechanisms of anti-proliferation and pro-apoptosis, NSAIDs revealed significant synergistic effects with other anti-tumor treatments.
