Objective To explore the clinical significance and changes of tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?)and interleukin-6(IL-6)level in children with acute viral myocarditis(AVM).Methods TNF-? and IL-6 level in serum from 53 AVM children and 20 healthy children were measured by radio-immunoassay and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The relation between the levels of TNF-? and IL-6 in serum with the occurrence and development in acute viral myocarditis was analyzed. Results Thirty-two were males and 21 females in the 53 AVM children. The ages ranged from 3-11 years old. There were 12 males and 8 females in control group. The serum level of TNF-? and IL-6 were(526.7?32.9),(3.23?0.53)mg/L in AVM group and(383.1?27.5),(1.63?0.22)mg/L in control group. There were significant difference between the 2 groups(Pa
2.Recent Research on CCR5 and Its Antagonists
China Biotechnology 2006;0(11):-
Chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5 ),as a member of the G protein-coupled receptor(GPCR)superfamily,is a membrane protein on cell surface and one of the major of coreceptors for HIV-1infection.CCR5 has became a molecular target for the novel drugs against HIV-1,and antagonists for CCR5 could be grouped as following, chemokine derivatives, small molecule non-peptide compounds, molecular antibodies and peptides. These compounds with high anti-viral activity and affinity are at different stages, and some have been under clinical studies. Therefore, the development research in the different kind of CCR5 antagonists is reviewed.

International Eye Science 2015;(5):839-842
?AlM: To compare clinical efficacy between Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation and trabeculectomy in patients with primary open angle glaucoma ( POAG) .
?METHODS: This retrospective study included 58 eyes from 45 patients with primary open angle glaucoma. And 32 eyes underwent penetrating trabeculectomy ( group A), while 26 eyes were performed Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation ( group B) . lntraocular pressure ( lOP) , best-corrected visual acuity ( BCVA ) , visual field and post-operative complications were observed between these two groups.
?RESULTS:(1) lOP:the lOP of post-operation in group A were (13. 56±4. 91), (14. 47±4. 03), (17. 56±5. 74), (18. 25±5. 49), (18. 13±4. 24), (19. 68±4. 55) mm Hg at 2d, 1, and 2wk, 1, 3 and 6mo respectively; and that were (13.58±4. 16), (16. 00±4. 83), (18. 00±5. 05), (19. 42±5. 41), (18. 42±3. 37), (20. 00±5. 37) mm Hg in group B. There was no statistically significant difference in lOP between the two groups ( P> 0. 05 ). ( 2 ) BCVA: the number of visual acuity decreased eyes, with 6mo follow-up, was 7 (22%) in group A; and that was 5 in group B (19%). There was no statistically significant difference in vision loss postoperatively between the two groups (χ2=0. 061, P>0. 05). (3) Visual field: with 6mo follow-up, there were 13 eyes ( 41%) which had constricted visual field in group A, while those were 10 eyes (38%) in group B; the difference of visual field loss between the two groups was not statistically significant (χ2 = 0. 028, P>0. 05 ) . ( 4 ) Complications: six-month follow-up after operation, there were 4 eyes with shallow anterior chamber, 4 eyes with complicated cataract and 1 eyes with Descemet’s membrane detachment in group A, while that was 1 eyes with shallow anterior chamber and 1 eyes with complicated cataract in group B; there was statistically significant difference in the rate of complications between the two groups (χ2 = 4. 144, P<0. 05 ) . ( 5 ) Surgical success rate: six month after operation, the completed success rate was 37% (12 eyes) in group A, and that was 35% (9 eyes) in group B. The partial success rate was 19% (6 eyes) and 15% (4 eyes) in group A and group B respectively. The difference of success rates between the two groups was not statistically significant (χ2=0. 225, P>0. 05).
? CONCLUSlON: Both Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation and trabeculectomy are effective methods for the treatment of POAG. The clinical efficacy was no difference between the two methods. However, compared with trabeculectomy, Ahmed glaucoma valve implantation was safer and had fewer complications.

Chinese Journal of General Surgery 1993;0(02):-
Objective To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of early enteral nutrition (EEN) in elder patients undergoing gastrectomy for gastric carcinoma. Methods An outcome-based retrospective review of 52 patients who had undergone gastrectomy for gastric carcinoma between July 1999 and June 2002 was performed .There were 27 patients in the EEN group, and 25 in the TPN group. Results The mean postoperative hospital days of the EEN group was significantly less than that of the TPN group (16.3 d vs. 21.3 d, t =4.6814, P
10.Effect of isoflurane preconditioning on the nuclear factor kappa B activity of leukocytes in patients undergoing cardiac valve replacement with cardiopulmonary bypass

Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 1994;0(06):-
Objective To investigate the effect of isoflurane preconditioning on the nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB)activity of leukocytes in patients undergoing cardiac valve replacement with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB).Methods Twenty ASAⅡorⅢpatients of both sexes aged 20-60 yrs undergoing cardiac valve replacement under CPB were randomly divided into 2 groups(n=10 each):control group(C)and isoflurane preconditioning group(I).Anesthesia was induced with midazolam 0.08-0.12 mg?kg~(-1),fentanyl 5-10?g?kg~(-1) and vecuronium 0.1 mg?kg~(-1).The patients were mechanically ventilated(FiO_2=100%)after tracheal intubation.Anesthesia was maintained with intermittent i.v.boluses of fentanyl and midazolam in group C or with 2 MAC isoflurane and intermittent i.v.boluses of fentanyl and midazolam in group I before CPB.Systolic BP was kept between 90-120 mm Hg,diastolic BP between 50-80 mm Hg and HR between 60-90 bpm in both groups. Isoflurane was discontinued at the initiation of CPB.Arterial blood samples were taken after tracheal intubation and before inhalation of isoflurane(T_0)at 30 min(T_1),1 h(T_2)and 2 h(T_3)after aortic unclamping for determination of NF-kB activity of leukocytes using electrophoretic mobility shift assay(EMSA).The amount of fentanyl, midazolam, dopamine and sodium nitroprusside(SNP)consumed during operation and the rate of recovery of spontaneous heart beat in both groups were recorded. Results The NF-kB activity was significantly increased after aortic unclamping in C group but there was no significant difference in NF-kB activity before CPB (T_0)and after aortic unclamping(T_(1-3))in I group. The NF-kB activity was significant lower at T_(1-3) in group I than in group C.The total amount of fentanyl consumed was 40-60?g?kg~(-1) in C group and 20-30?g?kg~(-1) in group I. Significantly less amount of dopamine was used in group I than in group C.There was no significant difference in SNP consumption between the 2 groups. The rate of recovery of spontaneous heart beat was significantly higher in group I than in group C(P<0.01).The amount of dopamine consumed was positively correlated with the highest level of NF-kB activity in both group[r=0.962 in group C;r=0.908 in group I(P<0.01)].Conclusion Isoflurane preconditioning can attenuate the NF-kB activity of leulocytes in patients undergoing cardiac valve replacement under CPB.
