Objective:
To explore the relationship between childhood sexual abuse (CSA) experience and sexual behavior among female nursing students and to provide a scientific reference for intervening sexual behavior for female nursing students.
Methods:
A cross-sectional study was conducted among 2 549 female students majoring nursing from four medical schools (one is a medical college and the other is medical junior college) by self-administered questionnaire. A questionnaire survey regarding demographic information, childhood sexual abuse, sexual behavior was conducted and multi-factor Logistic regression method was used to analyze the effect of childhood sexual abuse in different stages made on their sexual behavior.
Results:
Among 2 549 female nursing students, 143(5.6%) reported having had sexual intercourse, 141 reported having had sexual intercourse with the opposite sex, 6 reported having had sexual intercourse with the same sex, and 4 reported having sexual intercourse with both sexes. The report rate of sexual behavior of nursing students in undergraduate colleges (6.8%) was lower than that of junior college (3.9%), the second-grade nursing students reported the highest rate of sexual behavior (7.8%), the lowest in first grade (4.0%). Nursing students in good relationship with parents reported lowest rate of sexual behavior(P<0.05). Compared to those who had not experienced CSA, students who had experienced contacting or no-contacting CSA reported a higher percentage engaged in sexual intercourse(P<0.05). CSA in all types and different stages in childhood associated with higher risk of sexual intercourse among nursing students(P<0.05).
Conclusion
Childhood sexual abuse shows significant impacts on sexual behaviors during young adulthood, which warrants further attention to promote physical and mental health of college students.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2019;40(7):1005-1008
Objective:
To investigate the correlation between childhood maltreatment and quality of life (QOL) in nursing girls in Anhui Province, so as to provide reference for improving QOL of nursing girls.
Methods:
The stratified cluster sampling method was used to select students of grade 1 to 3 in nursing major from 2 colleges and 2 specialized colleges by self-administered questionnaire in Anhui province. The questionnaire was conducted to analyze the relationship between childhood abuse and neglect and QOL of female nursing students. Multiple linear regression model was used to assess the associations between childhood maltreatment and QOL.
Results:
Among 2 549 female nursing students, the mean scores of 4 dimensions of QOL were physical (12.85±2.01), psychological (13.86±2.40), social relationship (12.83±2.84) and environment (13.37±2.21). The scores of QOL among college students were higher than specialized college students, high grade students were higher, and those who have a good relationship with their parents were higher(P<0.01). The prevalence rates of childhood physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, physical neglect, and emotional neglect were 4.9%, 10.6%, 7.3%, 6.7% and 4.1%, respectively. The scores of QOL were lower among female nursing students with childhood maltreatment than those without childhood maltreatment(P<0.01). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the number of childhood abuse and neglect were negatively correlated with physical, psychological and environmental dimension of QOL, and the number of childhood maltreatment were significantly dose-responsive to quality of life(P<0.05).
Conclusion
The female nursing students are still greatly neglected, and the experience of childhood maltreatment is negatively related to the quality of life among female nursing students.

Biomedical and Environmental Sciences 2023;36(10):940-948
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the value of pretreatment inflammatory-nutritional biomarkers in predicting the pathological response of locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (nCT).
METHODS:
This retrospective study included eligible participants who underwent nCT followed by radical surgery. Pretreatment inflammatory nutritional biomarkers were calculated within one week prior to nCT. Correlations between biomarkers and pathological responses were analyzed. The cut-off values of the pretreatment biomarkers for predicting non-response were determined using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. The inflammation-nutrition score was calculated using the lymphocyte level, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and prognostic nutritional index (PNI).
RESULTS:
A total of 235 patients were retrospectively recruited between January 2017 and September 2022. Lower lymphocyte levels, lymphocyte monocyte ratio (LMR), and PNI, and higher NLR and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) were observed in patients without response. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that NLR could independently predict non-response to nCT in patients with LARC. The sensitivity and specificity of the inflammation-nutrition score for predicting nonresponse were 71.2% and 61.7%, respectively.
CONCLUSION
The pretreatment inflammation-nutrition score is a practical parameter for predicting non-response to nCT in patients with LARC. Patients with high scores were more likely to respond poorly to nCT.

Objective: To investigate the clinical and pathological features, treatments and prognosis of laryngeal neuroendocrine carcinoma (LNEC). Methods: We conducted the retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 12 patients with LNEC admitted to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from May 2014 to December 2021, including 9 males and 3 females, aged 50-77 years. There were 4 cases of typical carcinoid tumour (highly differentiated), 5 cases of atypical carcinoid tumour (moderately differentiated) and 3 cases of neuroendocrine small cell carcinoma (hypofractionated). The clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of LNEC were analysed. Results: The clinical manifestations of LNEC varied according to the tumour type but did not correlate with the pathological types. The supraglottic type was characterized by sore throat, foreign body sensation in the pharynx, coughing, obstructive sensation when eating and choking on water. The treatments were determined according to the pathological types, lesion location and invasion scope. Of 12 patients 4 underwent horizontal partial laryngectomy plus elective lymphatic dissection plus postoperative radiotherapy/chemotherapy, 4 underwent vertical partial laryngectomy (3 of them with cervical lymphatic dissection), 3 underwent supported laryngoscopic plasma laryngectomy for laryngeal cancer, and 1 abandoned for treatment. With the follow-up of 8 -78 months, 5 patients were alive, 1 died from chemotherapy reactions, 3 died from other diseases, 1 died from lung metastasis, 1 died from lung infection and 1 was lost to follow-up. Conclusion: LNEC is clinically rare, the clinical manifestations are less specificity, diagnosis relies on pathological and immunohistochemical examinations, and treatment modalities and prognoses are closely related to the pathological subtypes of LNEC.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2019;51(3):467-476
OBJECTIVE:
Larotaxel is a new chemical structure drug, which has not been marketed worldwide. Accordingly, the standard identification and quantification methods for larotaxel remain unclear. The spectrometric analyses were performed for verifying weight molecular formula, molecular weight and chemical structure of larotaxel. Besides, a quantification method was developed for measuring larotaxel in the liposomes.
METHODS:
The molecular formula, molecular weight and chemical structure of larotaxel were studied by using mass spectrometry (MS), infra-red (IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectrometric techniques. The absorption wavelength of larotaxel was investigated by UV-vis spectrophotometry full-wavelength scanning. Besides, a quantification method was developed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and then validated by measuring the encapsulation efficacy of larotaxel liposomes.
RESULTS:
The four spectral characteristics of larotaxel were revealed and the corresponding standard spectra were defined. It was confirmed that larotaxel had the structure of tricyclic diterpenoids, with the molecular formula of C45H53NO14, the molecular weight of 831.900 1, and the maximum absorption wavelength of 230 nm. The quantitative method of larotaxel was established by using HPLC with a reversed phase C18 column (5 μm, 250 mm×4.6 mm), a mobile phase of acetonitrile-water (75:25, volume/volume), and a detection wavelength of 230 nm. The validation study exhibited that the established HPLC method was stable, and had a high recovery and precision in the quantitative measurement of larotaxel in liposomes. In addition, a new kind of larotaxel liposomes was also successfully prepared. The particle size of the liposomes was about 105 nm, with an even size distribution. And the encapsulation efficiency of larotaxel in the liposomes was above 80%.
CONCLUSION
The present study offers reference standard spectra of larotaxel, including MS, IR, NMR, and UV-vis, and confirms the molecular formula, molecular weight and chemical structure of larotaxel. Besides, the study develops a rapid HPLC method for quality control of larotaxel liposomes.
