Aging is one of dangerous elements in cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and neurodegenerative diseases. Qi deficiency and blood stasis is an important syndrome pattern in aging. The treatment methods of nourishing qi and resolving blood stasis is an important way to delay aging. Based on the theory that nourishing qi and resolving blood stasis can delay aging, many scholars have conducted lots of clinical and experimental researches nowadays. This article mainly analyzeds the theory and origin of nourishing qi and resolving blood stasis delaying aging, the current situation of clinical and experimentai researches on age-related diseases. The purpose of this article is providing a basis for anti-aging researches on Chinese herbal medicines that have the efficienoy of nourishing qi and resolving blood stasis, and further revealing aging mechanism.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the situation of adverse drug reactions(ADR) in our hospital.METHODS:In this retrospective study,a total of 270 ADR cases reported between 2005 and 2007 in our hospital were analyzed statistically in respect of the age and sex of patients, drug categories and clinical manifestations etc.RESULTS:Of the 270 ADR cases, patients aged ≤18 years or ≥50 years took the highest proportion(51.1% for the two age groups). The ADR were chiefly manifested as lesion of skin and its accessories, followed by the reaction of digestive system.90.74% of the ADR cases were induced by injections, and 191 cases(70.74%) were induced by antibiotics.CONCLUSION:ADR worth the highest alert in the clinic.

Objective To discuss the diagnostic value of serum cystatin-C(Cys-C) and urinary retinol binding protein(RBP) for the early renal impairment in multiple myeloma(MM) patients .Methods According to estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR) , the MM patients were divided into two groups :the normal renal function group(eGFR≥90 mL/min ,n=78)marked group A ,the renal impairment group(eGFR<90 mL/min ,n=40)marked group B .130 healthy subjects were selected as control group .The con-centrations of serum Cys-C ,urinary RBP ,serum creatinine(Cr) and serum urea nitrogen(UN) were measured and compared .Results The levels of Cys-C and RBP in group A were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0 .01) .There were signifi-cant difference of the levels of Cys-C ,Cr ,UN and RBP levels between group B and control group(P<0 .01) .The sensitivity of the combined detection of Cys-C and RBP was 57 .69% ,significantly higher than single index test(P<0 .05) .Conclusion Compared with traditional biomarkers ,Cys-C and RBP are more sensitive and effective indexes for the diagnosis of early renal impairment in the patients with MM ,and jointed detection of the two biomarkers has important value .

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2010;16(1):60-61
ObjectiveTo observe the effect of early rehabilitation and insulin treatment on acute cerebral infarction. Methods160 cases with acute cerebral infarction (without diabetes and the serum glucose were all above 6.7 mmol/L) were divided into treatment group and control group. Each case of both groups was treated with routine treatment, and those in the treatment group were treated with insulin instantly and early rehabilitation in the first day after onset when physical signs were stable and conditions didn't deteriorate. They were assessed with Neurological Impairment, Fugl-Meyer Assessment and Barthel Index 4 weeks after treatment. ResultsCompared with the control group, the neurological function improved obviously in the treated group (P<0.05). ConclusionEarly rehabilitation and insulin treatment can improve neurological function and the activity of daily living.

Objective To investigate the relationship of the beneficial effect of CsA on vascular reactivity to Rho-kinase,protein kinase C ( PKC) and mitochondrial permeability transition pore ( MPTP) in traumatic hemorrhagic shock rats. Methods With traumatic hemor-rhagic shock rats and hypoxia-treated vascular smooth muscle cells ( VSMCs) ,the role of Rho-kinase and PKC in CsA-regulating vascular re-activity following shock and their relationship to MPTP was observed. Meanwhile, the effects of CsA on inflammatory mediators including TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 were also studied. Results CsA significantly improved the vascular reactivity of superior mesenteric artery following hemor-rhagic shock. Rho-kinase inhibitor Y27632 significantly antagonized CsA-induced increase of vascular reactivity, while PKC inhibitor stauros-porine had no significant influences on the effects of CsA. Further studies showed that CsA and Rho-kinase agonist U46619 inhibited the o-pening of MPTP in hypoxia-treated VSMCs. In addition, shock induced a significant increase of TNF-αand IL-1β,but CsA did not show a sig-nificant inhibitory effect on their level. Conclusion CsA-induced restoration of vascular reactivity following traumatic hemorrhagic shock via inhibiting MPTP opening, and Rho-kinase participate in this process.

Objective To study the effects of costimulatory blockade with anti-inducible costim- ulator antibody(ICOS mAb)in combination with CTLA4Ig on prevention of islet allograft rejection. Methods Experimental animals were randomly divided into 4 groups(10 rats in each group).CT- LA4Ig + ICOS mAb group(group A):intraperitoneal injection of CTLA4Ig on day 0,2,4 and ICOS mAb on day 1,3,5 after islet transplantation;ICOSmAb group(group B):intraperitoneal injection of ICOS mAb on day 1,3,5 after islet transplantation;CTLA4Ig group(group C):intraperitoneal injection of CTLA4Ig on day 0,2,4 after islet transplantation;control group(group D):simple islet transplantation. The islet allograft survival and pathological changes in the transplanted islets after transplantation were observed.By using RT-PCR,the expression of IL-2 and IL-10 mRNA in the transplanted islets was detected. The expression of CD4~+ and CD8~+ T cell was detected by flow cy- tometry. Results In group A,the survival time was obviously prolonged as compared with other three groups and the transplanted islets were near normal under a light microscope. As compared with other three groups, the expression of IL-2 mRNA was significantly decreased in group A(P0.05).The expression of CD4~+ and CD8~+ T cell was not obviously up-regulated on the day 21 after transplantation. Conclusion The blockade of costimulatory signals with ICOS mAb in combination with CTLA4Ig has a favorable effects to restrain the rejection of islet transplantation.

To guide and encourage medical students to do grass-roots work,we need to strengthen the functions of the government work and employment guidance of medical colleges. Also,we have to improve the employment system of primary health care units and help students change their concepts about employment.

Human herpesvirus-8 (HHV-8) also referred to as Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpes-virus (KSHV),is a novel tumor causing virus, which is thought to be the etiologic agent of KS,and also is associated with primary effusion lymphoma(PEL) and multicentric castleman’s disease(MCD) HHV-8 encodes a number of viral proteins, including the proteins associated with HHV-8 latent infection and lytic infection, and the proteins unique to HHV-8,which are critical players in the development of KS and HHV-8-associated diseases. The proteins encoded by HHV-8 and association between HHV-8 and KS were reviewed.
