Objective: To explore the effects of various concentrations IFN-? on human oral epidermic cancer cell line KB and its multidrug resistant counterpart KBv200.Methods: The toxicity of IFN-? and/or VCR was assayed by MTT method; intracellular rhodamin123 concentration and p-glycoprotein expression were measured by flow cytometry; mdr-1 mRNA was assayed by RT-PCR. Results: High-dose IFN-?(10 000 IU/ml) had significant antiproliferative effects on KB/KBv200 cell lines. Low-dose IFN-? did not have any significant effect on growth of KB/KBv200 cells, but did increase the cytotoxic effect of VCR and the accumulation of Rhodamine123 in KBv200 cell line and had no effect on parent VCR-sensitive KB cell line. IFN-? down-regulated expression of P-gp and mdr-1mRNA . Conclusions: IFN-? has significant effect on the reversal of multidrug resistance of KBv200 cell line via a mechanism of P-gp and mdr1 mRNA down-regulation.

Objective To screen the presciption of Blumea gynecological lotion and investigate the inhibitory effect through inhibition rate test; To provide a basis for clinical application. Methods Consumption of Tween-80, SLES, hydrogenated castor oil (RH-40), and clarity of the solution were selected as the evaluation indexes to optimize the solubilizing agents. By using the filter paper method and the inhibition zone size as the evaluation index, the antimicrobial effect on Staphylococcus aureus. Escherichia coli and Candida albicans was studied to screen the best antibacterial agent from 2 g/L GM-BP, 2 mL/L PHMB, 2 mL/L A.SAP. With Blumeapowder dissolution percentage as the evaluation index, orthogonal test was used to screen additives in the lotion. Finally, the bacteriostasis effect and stability of the obtained lotion were investigated in vitro. Results The order of solubilizing effect was RH-40>SLES>Tween-80, and that of inhibition zone size was PHMB>A.SAP>GM-BP. The best prescription as follows:0.6 mg/mL Blumea powder, 0.04 g/mL SLES, 0.01 g/mL CAB-35, 10% propylene glycol. Bacteriostatic rates of Blumea gynecology lotion sample were more than 90%, and bacteriostatic rates remained more than 80% after 3 months. Conclusion The prescription of Blumea gynecology lotion is reasonable and practicable, with simple preparation process, available materials and good inhibitory effect and stability.

Objective Evaluating the main risk factors of thyroid cancer systematicaly,to provide reference for the further development of thyroid cancer prevention strategies.Methods Such databases as PubMed,Cochrane Library,CBM,CNKI,VIP and WanFang were searched from the date of their establishment to June 10 2016 to collect the case-control studies on thyroid cancer.After study selection,assessment and data extraction was conducted by two reviewers independently,meta-analysis was performed by using the RevMan 5.1 software.Results Nineteen studies involving 4 813 thyroid cancer patients and 6 068 comparions were selected.The results of metaanalysis showed that:the risk factors of thyroid cancer mainly included history of benign thyroid disease [odds ratio (OR) =7.31,95％ confidence interval (95％CI,4.37,12.23)],family history of thyroid cancer [OR =5.13,95％CI (3.20,8.23)],high iodine diet [(marine animal food,OR =4.15,95％CI (2.47,6.99)],CT inspection history [OR =3.99,95％CI (2.10,7.60)],Negative emotions [sulking,OR =3.31,95％CI (2.23,4.91)],BMI greater than 25 [OR =2.62,95％CI (1.73,3.97)],high pressure and anxious [OR =2.60,95％CI (1.61,4.21)],getting along with people not harmoniously [OR =2.46,95％CI (1.59,3.81)],the number of pregnancies of women more than three times [OR =2.03,95％CI (1.50,2.76)],age of menarche less than 13,14 years old [OR =1.59,95％CI (1.06,2.37)].Conclusions Thyroid benign disease history,family history of thyroid cancer,high iodine diet,CT examination,BMI greater than 25,bad mood,social interaction,number of pregnancies and other factors are the independent risk factors for thyroid cancer.Corresponding prevention and control measures should be taken according to these risk factors.

Objective To evaluate the efficiency and safety of hair removal in different areas with Lightsheer Duet diode laser and to compare clinical effect and safety in axillae hair removal between the two models,high-speed and standard model.Methods Lightsheer Duet diode laser was used to remove hairs from different areas in 200 cases,for 4-8 weeks treatment 1 time,4 times for 1course.The curative effect and adverse reaction were observed after the treatment.Thirty axillae hair removal subjects were chosen randamly and received treatments using the different models,high-speed hand piece on one side and the standard hand piece on the other side.Hair removal efficiency and the immediate pain were compared and evulated on each subject.Results The hair was significantly reduced after 4 times treatments in 200 cases.The total effective rate was 95.54 ％ and positively related with the treatment times.Pigmentation was found in 3 cases,but it disappeared after 1-3 months.The total effective rate was 100 ％ after the 3 times treatments in axillae hair removal subjects both using the high-speed model or the standard model in 30 cases.There was no statistical difference between the two models except less pain in the high-speed model.Conclusions Lightsheer Duet diode laser is a safe and efficient method in hair removal.The high-speed model has more advantage on speed and causing pain.

Objective To study metabolism of polyunsantured fatty acid (PUFA) and to investigate the relationship between different PUFA compositions and △6 desaturase (D6D) activity in colorectal carcinoma (CRC).Methods Fresh frozen malignant CRC tissues were obtained from 61 patients and blood samples were detected in 38 patients.The PUFA composition in these samples was determined by gas-liquid chromatography on a capillary column.The fatty acid product-to-precursor ratios in blood and tissue as estimates of desaturase activity (D6D activity index),and its relationship with the ratios between different PUFA compositions were investigated.Results Metabolism of ω-6 PUFA dominated in PUFA metabolism path.The ratio of ω-6/ω-3 PUFA was 4.89 in blood samples and 10.15 in tissues.The ratio of LA/ALA was 101.92 in blood samples and 86.16 in tissues.The ratio of ω-6/ω-3 LC-PUFA was 2.86 in blood samples and 4.51 in tissues.The D6D activity index in ω-6 PUFA metabolic processes both in tissues (t =1 1.609,P =0.00) and blood samples (t =-9.151,P =0.00) were higher than that in ω-3 PUFA.Conclusion In colorectal carcinoma,the ω-6 PUFA metabolic not only plays an important role in the metabolism of PUFA,but also is more active than the ω-3 PUFA metabolic,and in some way links to the development of tumorigenesis in CRC.

Objective To investigate the survival benefit of patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinomas who recieved postoperative chemotherapy of tegafur combined with FT-207 radiotherapy.Methods Data from 126 patients with esophageal squamous were analyzed who undergone radical resection from January 2008 to December 2010,consisting of 92 patients underwent surgery alone and 34 patients took oxaliplatin combined with tegafur postoperatively (oxaliplatin 130 g/m2,d1,tegafur 500 mg/m2,d1-5,21 d for a cycle,every patient received at least two cycles).Results The 1-year survival rate and 3-year survival rate was 93.5 ％ and 75.0 ％ in the surgery alone group,was 97.1％ and 76.2 ％ in the surgery plus postoperative chemotherapy (P =0.590).There was no significant differences in survival in the two groups,even with Coxregression multivariate analysis and with stratifications of gender,age,tumor location,degree of cell differentiation,invasion depth,lymphatic metastasis and TNM stage.Conclusion Postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy with oxaliplatin combined with tegafur has not significantly improve the survival rate of patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinomas undergoing radical resection.It is still lack of an effective project for postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy for esophageal cancer,and it is necessary for further study.

Objective To analyze the epidemiologic feature of overseas imported malaria in order to provide the evidence for improving the surveillance and control of malaria in Wuhan City. Methods The epidemiological investigation data of overseas imported malaria cases were collected and analyzed with an epidemiological method including plasmodium species epidemic fo?cus distribution domestic distribution population characteristics attack?diagnosis interval clinical grading etc. in Wuhan City from 2008 to 2013. Results A total of 240 overseas imported malaria cases were reported including 180 cases from Afri?can countries and the proportion of Plasmodium falciparum infections was 82.22% and 60 cases from Southeast Asian coun?tries and the proportion of Plasmodium vivax infections was 76.67% and the proportions of the parasite species were significant?ly different between the two regions χ2=105.53 P 0.001 . The male and young adults were dominant. there were no statisti?cal significance between clinical grading and attack?diagnosis interval Z=-0.99 P = 0.32 vocational background χ2=10.61 P=0.10 then clinical symptoms aggravated the situation was occurred more easily among the first attack cases χ2=7.66 P 0.05 and the falciparum malaria cases χ2=24.27 P 0.001 . Conclusions The overseas imported malaria cases are increasing rapidly with years and the malignant malaria cases were more than other malaria cases in Wuhan City. Therefore the surveillance and management of the returnees from malaria endemic areas should be strengthened continually.

OBJECTIVE: To study the causes of false-positive hyoid fractures and forensic identification. METHODS: Twelve cases of false-positive hyoid fractures were collected and analyzed. RESULTS: Improper dissection technique (4 cases) and congenital separation (8 cases) were the main reasons for false-positive hyoid fractures. CONCLUSION True fractures can be differentiated from false-positive hyoid fractures. False-positive hyoid fracture caused by improper dissection technique can be identified through examination of peripheral muscle, soft tissue hemorrhage, and the characteristics of fracture end.
