Biotrickling filter often offers a cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional air pollutant control technologies,but major problems with clogging of the filters due to a high biomass accumulation will provent it from the industried uses.In this paper,the effect of the high biomass accumulation in an air pollution treatment with a biotrickling filter is discussed.Two parameters with specific surface area with biofilm growth(?_ f ) and the bed porosity with biofilm(?_ f )are used to analyse its principle of accumulation.Finally,some control measures including chemical methods,physical machine-made methods and other control methods are overviewed.

BACKGROUND:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s have a low survival rate after implanted into the ischemic myocardium. However, hypoxia preconditioning (HPC) may enhance bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel proliferation and promote its survival rate. OBJECTIVE:To explore whether Pim-1 is involved in HPC protecting against apoptosis of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s and the relevant mechanism. METHODS:Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s were respectively subjected to HPC for 0, 6, 12, and 24 hours. The expression of Pim-1 and apoptosis-related genes were detected by RT-qPCR and western blot. Then, the best hypoxic preconditioning time was determined as 12 hours. Then, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s were assigned to one of the fol owing groups:control (without HPC), 12-hour HPC, 12-hour HPC+Pim-1 inhibitor groups. Flow cytometry analysis was used to detect the cel apoptosis, Transwel assay to analyze the cel migration ability in each group, and JC-1 kit to detect mitochondrial membrane potential. Animal models of myocardial infarction were established. One week after modeling, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s were given via multi-point injection around the infarct zone of rats. Two weeks after modeling, heart tissues of rats were taken and sliced fol owed by DiI staining to calculate the survival rate of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s. Additional y, rat cardiac function was assessed by echocardiography prior to and after modeling as wel as at 4 weeks after cel transplantation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 12 hours after HPC, the expression of Pim-1, p-Akt and Bcl-2 gene in the infarct region was significantly increased, but the expression of caspase-3 and Bax was significantly decreased. Compared with the control group, cel viability in the 12-hour HPC group was increased very significantly at 1 week after cel transplantation (P<0.001), the migration and anti-apoptosis ability were enhanced significantly (P<0.01) and the cardiac function of rats was significantly improved in the 12-hour HPC group (P<0.05). Al of these protective effects were blocked by the Pim-1 inhibitor. These findings indicate that HPC can protect bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s from apoptosis through activating Akt and up-regulating Pim-1, and thereby improve the therapeutic effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel transplantation on ischemic heart diseases.

OBJECTIVETo observe the clinical effect of Huikangling Tablet (HT, extracted from Scabrous Patrinia root) on peripheral blood micrometastasis of differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) patients.

METHODSTotally 87 DTC patients with positive micrometastasis were randomly assigned to the treatment group (45 cases) and the control group (42 cases). DTC endocrine inhibition treatment standards were executed in all patients. They all took levothyroxine sodium (50 microg/tablet, from low dose, 25 microg each time, once per day, 0.5 h before breakfast), and its dosage was gradually added one week later. The dosage was adjusted according to tested results of TSH combined recurrence risk stratification and endocrine suppression induced adverse reactions risk stratification. Patients in the treatment group took HT (0.4 g per tablet, 3 tablets each time, three times per day for a total of 12 weeks) combined TSH suppression therapy, while those in the control group only received TSH suppression therapy. Peripheral micrometastatic cytokeratin 19 (CK19) and polymorphic epithelial mucin1 (MUC1) were detected by FCM at week 4 and 12. Meanwhile, distant metastasis and adverse reactions were observed.

RESULTSAfter 4-week treatment positive micrometastasis was shown in 18 cases (40%) of the treatment group and 29 cases (69%) in the control group with statistical difference (chi2 = 5.68, P < 0.05). After 12-week treatment positive micrometastasis was shown in 7 cases (15.6%) of the treatment group and 17 cases (44.7%) in the control group with statistical difference (chi2 = 8.49, P < 0.01). Pulmonary metastasis occurred in 2 cases and bone metastasis in 1 case of the control group at follow-ups. Cervical lymph node metastasis without accompanied recurrence of thyroid cancer occurred in one case of the treatment group. No obvious liver or renal abnormalities occurred.

CONCLUSIONHT inhibited peripheral blood micrometastasis of DTC patients and its mechanism needed to be further studied.

Objective To understand the basic situation and the current work status of health education staff in Beibei district of Chongqing city and to explore the community health education pattern in Beibei district to provide reference for rational talent strat -egy and personnel policy adjustment .Methods By using the Investigation Questionnaires of Health Education Personal in Beibei District ,35 health education staffs in Beibei district were performed the investigation .Results Most health education staffs in Bei-bei district are young and middle-aged .The average age was 36 .7 years ;71 .4% of them had undergraduate or college degree .Only 3 individuals were full-time staff and the others were part-time;the health education forms were plentiful with various contents . The health education staffs were insufficient in the professional knowledge and the health education skill .The external factors had influence on the health education work .Conclusion The health education staffs rejuvenation ,lack of the professional staffs and in-adequate depth of the theory and practice of the health education work restrict the deep development of the health education work to some extent .It is suggested that the relevant departments introduce the professional health education talents ,conduct the systematic training for enhancing the professional knowledge and working skills ,and give support in terms of policy and funding .

Objective To verify the accuracy of the mathematical model of gastrointestinal decompression after esophagectomy of esophageal cancer and explore predictive value of the mathematical model in the postoperative complications.Methods The retrospective case-control study was conducted.The clinicopatholo gical data of 192 patients with esophageal cancer who underwent esophagectomy in the Beijing Chaoyang Hospital of Capital Medical University between October 2013 and October 2016 were collected.Among 192 patients,160 didn't have postoperative complications and 32 had postoperative complications (7 with postoperative anastomotic leakage,9 with pulmonary infection and 16 with dysfunction of gastralintestinal tract).Patients selected the appropriate surgical procedures according to individual conditions,and then volume of gastrointestinal decompression was recorded daily.According to the regression equation of influencing factors of volume of postoperative gastrointestinal decompression:average daily drainage volume within 5 days (mL)=262.287 + 132.873 × tubular stomach-72.160 × smoking history-27.904 × pathological type of tumor-36.368 × age,predictive value of postoperative gastrointestinal decompression was calculated and compared with real volume of gastrointestinal decompression.Observation indicators:(1) comparison between predictive value and real volume of postoperative gastrointestinal decompression in patients without complications;(2) comparison between predictive value and real volume of postoperative gastrointestinal decompression in patients with complications.Measurement data with normal distribution were represented as (x)±s and comparison was analyzed using the pairedsamples t test.Measurement data with skewed distribution were described as M (range),and comparison was analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank tests.Results (1) Comparison between predictive value and real volume of postoperative gastrointestinal decompression in patients without complications:predictive value and real volume of postoperative gastrointestinal decompression in 160 patients without complications were respectively 187 mL (range,58-392 mL) and 207 mL (range,20-570 mL),with no statistically significant difference (Z=-1.106,P＞0.05).(2) Comparison between predictive value and real volume of postoperative gastrointestinal decompression in patients with complications:7 patients had postoperative anastomotic leakage,including 1 with cervical anastomotic leakage and 6 with chest anastomotic leakage.The predictive value and real volume of postoperative gastrointestinal decompression in 7 patients with anastomotic leakage were respectively (215±58)mL and (338± 106)mL,with a statistically significant difference (t=-3.139,P＜0.05).The predictive value and real volume of postoperative gastrointestinal decompression in 9 patients with postoperative pulmonary infection were respectively (176±61) mL and (239± 111) mL,with no statistically significant difference (t =-1.805,P＞0.05).The predictive value and real volume of postoperative gastrointestinal decompression in 16 patients with dysfunction of gastralintestinal tract were respectively (236 ± 60) mL and (357 ± 107) mL,with a statistically significant difference (t =-4.716,P＜ 0.05).Conclusions The mathematical model of gastrointestinal decompression after esophagectomy of esophageal cancer is correct and feasible.There is a predictive value for patients with postoperative anastomotic leakage and dysfunction of gastralintestinal tract.

Objective To compare the consistency of thrombelastography (TEG) and light transmittance aggregometry (LTA) in monitoring the antiplatelet therapy of the patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI),and observe the changes of mean platelet volume (MPV) of the patients treated with aspirin and clopidogrel after PCI.Methods A total of 177 patients undergoing PCI and the treatment of aspirin and clopidogrel in Peking University First Hospital during March 2014 and May 2015 were enrolled in the study.Their adenosine diphosphate (ADP) or arachidonic acid (AA) induced platelet inhibition rates determined by TEG,MPV before and after antiplatelet therapy,and the maximum platelet aggregation rates measured by LTA from 99 patients were retrospectively analyzed.Results There was no any correlation between the maximum aggregation rates measured by LTA and the platelet inhibition rates determined by TEG regardless of using ADP or AA as agonist (all P ＞ 0.05).The detection rates of clopidogrel hyporesponsiveness determined by LTA and TEG were 30.3％ and 45.5％,respectively,while those of aspirin hyporesponsiveness were 19.2％ and 31.3％,respectively.The detection rate of hyporesponsiveness determined by LTA was significant lower than that by TEG (P ＜ 0.05).The MPVs after antiplatelet therapy were significant lower than that before treatment (all P ＜ 0.01) regardless of clopidogrel hyporesponsive or sensitive and aspirin hyporesponsive or sensitive.The MPVs in clopidogrel hyporesponsive group before and after treatment were significantly lower than that in clopidogrel sensitive group (all P ＜ 0.05).The PLT counts in clopidogrel or aspirin hyporesponsive groups after treatment were significantly higher than that before treatment (all P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion There is poor correlation between LTA and TEG.It should be noted that the incidence rate of antiplatelet drug hyporesponsiveness is high in clinical practice.The MPVs of the patients significantly decrease after antiplatelet therapy.The patients with a significant increase of PLT after antiplatelet therapy are more likely to become drug hyporesponsiveness,while the patients with lower MPV are more likely to have clopidogrel hyporesponsiveness.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of ursolic acid (UA) on the alloxan-induced myocardial fibrosis in mice and discuss the possible mechanism.

METHODSDiabetes was produced by a single injection of alloxan (70 mg/kg, i.v.) in mice. The mice were randomly divided into four groups: normal control group, model group, ursolic acid group (UA, 35 mg/kg, p.o.) and benazepril group (5 mg/kg, p. o.), and continuous administrated for 8 weeks. The blood glucose was measured 24 hours after the last administration. Detected the specific biochemical of myocardial tissue: superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA) and hydroxyproline(HYP). Using masson staining to observe the morphology of the myocardial tissue. Immunohistochemistry was employed to determine the protein levels of TGF-beta1.

RESULTSCompared to normal group, the blood glucose, heart index, myocardial tissue MDA, HYP level were increased, and SOD activities were decreased in the diabetic mice, Masson stain showed that myocardial cells disarranged, myocardial collagen fibrosis hyperplasia. Meanwhile, the protein expression of TGF-beta1 was increased in model group. The UA group improved all the above significantly.

CONCLUSIONUA improves the myocardial collagen fibrosis in diabetic mice induced by alloxan, its mechanism may be related to inhibiting the expression of TGF-beta1 and antioxidation.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the role of endothelin-1 and its receptors on hypertrophy or proliferation of cultured cardial cells.

METHODSCardiomyocytes and cardiac fibroblasts were isolated by trypsin digestion method, DNA and protein synthesis were measured by 3H-dexyribonucleotidethymine (3H-TdR) and 3H-Leucine (3H-Leu) incorporation, while protein content was measured by Bradford method. Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) mRNA expression of cardiomyocyte was measured by reverse transcripted-polymerase chain reaction. Selective endothelin (ET) receptor subtype antagonists BQ123 and BQ788 were used to block ET(A) receptors (ET(A)R) and ET(B)R respectively and to observe the effects of the two receptors during cardiac hypertrophy.

RESULTSET-1 significantly increased the 3H-TdR and 3H-Leu incorporation rate of cardiomyocytes and cardiac fibroblasts in a dose-dependent manner and increased protein content. Furthermore, ET-1 promoted the ANP mRNA expression of cardiomyocyte. ET(A)R antagonist remarkably blocked these effects, while ET(B)R antagonist had no obvious effect.

CONCLUSIONSET-1 can induce the hypertrophy for cardiomyocytes and the proliferation for cardiac fibroblasts. These effects are mediated by ET(A)R.

Objective To understand college students on-site first aid training demand situation in Chongqing ,in order to provide the basis for college students to carry out on-site first aid training .Methods Using stratified random sampling method ,a question-naire survey was conducted on 1 232 students of 6 university in Chongqing .Results 90 .9% of the students hoped that they could master the on-site first-aid knowledge and skills ,students of different genders had significant differences on learning attitude of field first aid knowledge(P<0 .05) .The on-site first-aid knowledge among college students in Chongqing city most wanted to know was thetrauma emergency stop(74 .8% ) ,the most loving way of learning was to the hospital or emergency center study tour(47 .7% ) ,The love of on-site first aid training and learning style were theory teaching+watch video teaching or teacher demon-stration+classroom practice (63 .6% ) ,The operation way of learning the most love was teacher ,all the students into groups of two ,mutual operation practice(65 .9% ) ,and in both gender and specialty had significant differences(P<0 .05) .The survey of col-lege students in Chongqing city training status display results ,43 .5% of the students never received on-site first aid training .In ad-dition ,college students receive on-site first aid training frequencies were low ,48 .6% students in more than 2 years received 1 ses-sions of training .while the rescue confidence survey of college students after the on-site first aid training ,only 13 .1% of the students“completely had the confidence to do” .Conclusion College students in Chongqing have strong desire to learn on-site first aid training ,and there are differences in gender and major on demand ,past state of first aid training is poor ,in urgent need of the relevant departments give attention ,and formulate the on-site first aid training programs to improve college students′competence .
