Objective To observe the effect of Zhuyun Capsule(Pregnant-promoting Capsule)on serum sex hormone and expres- sion of ovarian cytokine of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)rats.Methods Progestogen plus human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG)was adopted to make PCOS rat models.Totally 40 SD rats were randomized into control group,PCOS model group,Zhuyun Capsule group,and clomiphene citrate group with 10 in each.Radioimmune assay(RIA)was used to measure the sex hormone and immunohistochemical test was done to measure the expression of tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?)of ovarian tissue,insulin-like growth factors-1(IGF-1),and leukemia inhibitory factor(LIF)to analyze the relations among these factors.Results Zhuyun Capsule could reduce greatly serum testosterone(T)and luteinizing hormone(LH),decrease expression of TNF-?and IGF-1,but increase expres- sion of LIF.Conclusion Zhuyun Capsule could regulate endocrine function and expression of ovarian cytokine to improve gonad func- tions of PCOS rats and to promote the maturation of follicle and ovulation.

AIM: To investigate the early changes of retinal function in diabetic patients detected by multifocal electroretinogram (mfERG).METHODS: The first-order kernel responses of mfERG were recorded from eyes of 33 normal control subjects,63 diabetic patients without retinopathy and 43 diabetic patients with background retinopathy. The response densities and implicit times of N1 and P1 were compared among the control, diabetic patients without retinopathy and diabetic patients with retinopathy.RESULTS: The response densities of N1 and P1 in central 3 rings were reduced significantly in diabetic eyes with and without retinopathy. And the implicit times of N1 and P1 were delayed significantly only in diabetic eyes with retinopathy.CONCLUSION: mfERG can detect the early changes of retinal function quantitatively in diabetic patients. Analysis of response densities and implicit times of N1 and P1 can reflect the progress of local retinal dysfunction in diabetes.

Salvia miltiorrhiza is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is widely used as a clinically medication for its efficiency in treating cardiovascular disease. Due to TCM is a comprehensive system, the mechanism of S. miltiorrhiza treating cardiovascular disease through integrated multiple pathways are still unclear in some aspects. With the rapid progress of bioinformatics and systems biology, network pharmacology is considered as a promising approach toward reveal the underlying complex relationship between an herb and the disease. In order to discover the mechanism of S. miltiorrhiza treating cardiovascular disease systematically, we use the auxiliary mechanism elucidation system for Chinese medicine, built up a molecule interaction network on the active component targets of S. miltiorrhiza and the therapeutic targets of cardiovascular disease to offer an opportunity for deep understanding the mechanism of S. miltiorrhiza treating cardiovascular disease from the perspective of network pharmacology. The results showed that S. miltiorrhiza treating cardiovascular disease through ten pathways as follows: improve lipid metabolism, anti-inflammation, regulate blood pressure, negatively regulates blood coagulation factor and antithrombotic, regulate cell proliferation, anti-stress injury, promoting angiogenesis, inhibited apoptosis, adjust vascular systolic and diastolic, promoting wound repair. The results of this paper provide theoretical guidance for the development of new drugs to treat cardiovascular disease and the discovery of new drugs through component compatibility.

Objective To investigate the evaluation significance of plasma D-dimer level for the prognosis in acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD) excluding pulmonary embolism(PE).Methods The patients with AECOPD were collected from the respiration department and emergency internal medicine department of the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University during 2007-2011.Thirty-five AECOPD cases of D-dimer positive and excluding PE and lower extremity deep venous thrombus(DVT)by CT angiography served as the experimental group and 35 cases of D-dimer negative as the control group.The differences in the first time hospitalization duration,GOLD grade,mortality rate,re-hospitalization times within 4 years,times of admission to ICU,times of intracheal intubation,rehospitalization and outside-hospital mortality rate were compared between the two groups.The receiver operatingcharacteristic(ROC)curve was applied to evaluate the short-term and long-term prognostic capacity of D-dimer.The t test at the follow up end point was used to analyze the D-dimer level in the death group and the survival group.Results The D-dimer level,length of hospital stay,death number of first time hospitalization,times of re-hospitalization,times of admission to ICU,times of intubation,re-hospitalization and outside-hospitalization mortality rate and total mortality rate had statistical differences between the experimental group and the control group(P＜0.05);but the differences in the age,gender and GOLD grade between the two groups had no statistical significance(P＞0.05).The sensitivity of D-dimer＞1 165 μg/L for predicting the death number of the first time hospitalization was 87.5 ％,and the specificity was 80.6 ％.The sensitivity of D-dimer＞ 865μg/L for predicting the mortality rate of re-hospitalization and outerside-hospital was 78.9 ％,and the specificity was 74.5 ％.The survival curve graph during the follow up period in the two groups revealed that the survival time and survival rate had statistical difference between the two groups.The D-dimer level in the death group was significantly higher than that in the survival group with statistical difference(P＜0.05).Conclusion The D-dimer level is an independent risk factor affecting the short-term and longterm prognosis of AECOPD.

This study aims to enhance effects of the experimental teaching,to cultivate high potential talents who can master essential knowledge and skills,and creatively carry out scientific research.

Objective To explore the technique of massive facial scar revision. Methods All 12 patients in the group were treated with expanded deltopectoral skin flap. In the primary surgery, expander was implanted underneath deltopectoral flap region through an incision inferior to the clavi-cle. The skin perforators of transverse cervical artery and thoracoacromial artery were ligated during surgery, and the internal thoracic artery was carefully preserved. After the deltopectoral skin flap was fully expanded, the second surgery was performed and the facial scar was released and the normal ana-tomic position of eyes, nose and month was restored. The deltopectoral skin flap was planed according to the size of the defect. The excised facial scar was converted to the flap pedicle and a hinge-like con-nection was formed. The flap was delayed and three weeks after the second surgery, the pedicle was divided. The flap from the pedicle was applied for the mental region scar revision. Results Unilateral or bilateral dehopectoral skin flaps were employed for the repair of extensive facial scar in 12 patients. Satisfactory results were achieved in all these patients. Conclusion Expanded deltopectoral skin flap is a good technique for the repair of extensive facial scar.

Objective The aim of this study was to study the antibiotic resistance and resistance genes of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in children from Shanghai area,and to determine the relationship between phenotypic and genotypic resistance profiles.Methods In this study,a total of 37 MRSA strains isolated from clinical specimens of hospitalized patients in Children's Hospital of Fudan University from March 2009 to November 2011 were collected.The mecA,ermA,ermB,ermC,aac (6') /aph (2),aph (3')-Ⅲ,ant (4',4),and qacA genes were detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR).Resistance to antibiotics was detected by agar dilution tests.The data analysis was done by chi square test.Results Among the 37 MRSA isolates,all (100.0 ％) were mecA gene positive,9 (24.3％) were ermB gene positive,none was ermA/C gene positive,21 (56.8％) were aac (6')/aph (2) gene positive,10 (27.0％) were aph (3')-Ⅲ gene positive,6 (16.2％) were ant(4',4) gene positive,and 9 were qacA gene positive (24.3％).The positive rate of aac(6')/aph(2) in hospital acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (HA-MRSA) was significantly higher than that of community acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) (85.7％ vs18.8％,x2=60.340,P=0.000).Among the 37 MRSAisolates,37 (100.0％) were resistant to penicillin,ampicillin-sulbactam,cefazolin,cefoxitin and cefuroxime.The 37 isolates were all susceptible to teicoplanin,vancomycin,and linezolid.The resistant rates to gentamicin,erythromycin,clindamycin,sulfamethoxazole,fosfomycin,rifampicin,and levofloxacin were 51.4％ (19/37),81.1％ (30/37),51.4％ (19/37),16.2％ (6/37),27.0％ (10/37),37.8％ (14/37) and 54.0％ (20/37),respectively.Compared with CA-MRSA,HAMRSA isolates had significantly higher resistance rates to gentamicin (12.5％ vs 81.0％; x2 =17.033,P=0.000),levofloxacin (31.2％ vs 71.4％; x2 =5.903,P=0.017),and rifampin (6.2％ vs 61.9％; x2=11.959,P=0.001).The rate of gentamicin resistance in aac(6')/aph(2) gene carrying strains was significantly higher than strains not carrying the gene (x2 =29.757,P=0.000).Conclusions MRSA in children carry a variety of drug-resistant genes,showed multi-drug resistance.HA-MRSA carries more resistance genes,and has higher rates resistance to antimicrobials than CA-MRSA.

AIM:To observe the effect of fresh amniotic membrane transplantation ( FAMT) in acute ocular chemical burns.
●METHODS:A prospective study of 25 consecutive cases (36 eyes) with acute ocular chemical burns were treated with FAMT. The clinical efficacy was observed such as the time of amniotic membrane absorbed, corneal epithelialization & transparency, visual acuities and complications.
●RESULTS: With follow-up ranged from 3 to 6mo, 31 eyes′ amniotic membrane were dissolved in 2wk (86%). A total of 33 eyes showed corneal epithelialization in 4wk ( 92%) , 3 eyes showed persistent corneal epithelial defects and need secondary limbal stem cell transplantation or corneal transplantation ( 8%) . A total of 10 eyes showed superficial corneal vascularization (28%), 6 eyes′ cornea were opacity in part (17%), and one eye was symblepharon (3%).
●CONCLUSION:Early FAMT is an effective treatment in the management of acute ocular chemical burns to support epithelial healing, restore ocular surface integrity with potential to improve vision and reduce the incidence of complications. Furthermore, FAMT has advantages of easily obtain and convenient usage, which is suitable in local hospital of our country.
