ObjecfiveTo compare the sensitivity of diffusion weighted imaging(DWI)with dynamic contrast enhanced(DeE)MRI for the detection of small breast caJlcers and to evaluate the clinical value of DWI.MethodsForty-eight patients with benign(n=25)and malignant(n=45)small breast lesions(≤2 cm)proved by pathology underwent DWI and DCE MRI.The DCE MRI was performed using FLASH sequence and the time-signal intensity chive was drawn. The DWl was performed using GRAPPAEPI sequence with different b values(800,1000 s/mm2) and the ADC values of lesions were measured. The sensitivity and specificity of DWI for the detection of small breast cancers were compared with DCE MRI. ResultsForty of 45 small breast cancers and 19 of 25 small benign breast lesions were corrlectly diagnosed using DCE MRI.The sensitivity and positive predictive value of TIC were 88.9%(40/45)and 87.0%(40/46).With b values of 800 s/mm2 and 1000 s/mm2,the avemge ADC values of small breast cancers were(1.153±0.192)× 10-3 and(1.079±0.186)× 10-3 mm2/s,while those of benign ones were (1.473±0.252)×10-3 and(1.419±0.255)×10-3 mm2/s,respeetively. There was no significant difference for the ADC values with different b values in the same group(P>0.05),while there was a signiticant difference between the malignant and the benign lesions(P<0.05)Thirty-nine of 45 small breast cancers and 19 of 25 small benign breast lesions were correctly diagnosed using DWI with b value of 1000see/mm2.Both the sensitivity and positive predictive value of diagnosis were 86.7%(39/45).The abilities of DWI and DCE MRI for the diagnosis of small breast cancers werle the same. The sensitivity(93.3%)and positive predictive value(91.3%)were improved with the combination of DCE MRI and DWI. Conclusion DWI has a high sensitivity for the detection of small breast cancers, the ADC value can provide valuable information in the differential diagnosis.

Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
A predominant chrysene-degrading strain was isolated and screened from biological sludge sampled from a coking plant, which can use chrysene as sole carbon source for growth in the selective culture me-dium.The phylogenetic tree of the strain was produced on the basis of morphology observation by SEM,experimental results of physiology and biochemistry and analysis of 16S rDNA sequence. The strain was identified as Achromobacter xylosoxidans. The effect of initial concentration of chrysene solution,inoculat-ing dose and pH on degradation efficiencies was investigated. The results indicate that the degrading charac-teristics of the strain is fine. The optimal degrading conditions are:initial concentration of chrysene solution 40 mg/L,inoculating dose(V/V)10%,pH 7.0~7.5,respectively.Under the optimal conditions, the degrading efficiency can reach more than 80% after 5 days at 30?C.

Objective Irregular antibody screening and identification are very important to reduce hemolytic reaction. The dis-tribution of irregular antibodies of blood group was analyzed in patients, to provide evidence for using Micro column gel test to detect and identify irregular antibodies transfusion safety. Methods Micro column gel anti-globulin technique was used to screen the irregular an-tibodies and cross-matching in 29770 patients. If the serum had irregular antibodies, the spectrum cells were used to identify the specific-ity of irregular antibodies. Results Among 29 770 patients, 120 cases had irregular antibodies of blood group. The positive rate was 0.4%.The irregular antibodies include Rh system(n=67),MNS system (n=7), Lewis system(n=5),cases of Kidd system(n=3) and undefined specified antibodies(n=38).Among the 120 antibody-positive patients, 70 were female patients and 50 were male patients. Further study showed that the pregnancy history was to the main factor causing irregular antibodies in women (46 positive cases among 70 female patients) . Conclusion The study showed that some patients had irregular antibodies of blood group, especially female patients with pregnancy history. These results suggested that irregular antibody screening and cross-matching by micro column gel method in pa-tients before transfusion had great significance for ensuring the blood transfusion safety.

Objective To identify changes in the occurrence of endemic fluorosis in order to provide scientific basis for making countermeasures. Methods Five villages from 14 counties of mild, moderate and severe fluorosis affected areas were selected by stratified cluster sampling every year in the whole province during 2006 - 2010. Water and urinary fluorine were determined by ion selective electrode method(GB/T 8538-1995); dental fluorosis of children 8-12 years old was diagnosed with Dean method; skeletal fluorosis was diagnosed according to "clinical indexing standards of endemic skeletal fluorosis "(GB 16396-1996), between 2006 and 2008, and "clinical diagnosis standard of endemic skeletal fluorosis"(WS 192-2008) between 2009 and 2010. Results A total of 25 diseased villages were surveyed, 14 with water sources changed, covered a resident population of 8005 people, beneficiary population 7154, and accounting for 89.37% of the resident population; not changed villages 11. In accordance with the "State drinking water health standards", in the 14 changed villages the fluoride in drinking water was qualified (≤ 1.20 mg/L), there were 3 schools whose water fluorine content exceeded the standard; among the 11 villages that did not change water sources 7 drinking water samples fluorine content exceeded the standard. Of the 8 to 12 years old children in villages with changed water sources, 363 of them were checked and 142 dental fluorosis were found, the detection rate of dental fluorosis was 39.12% (142/363); in villages with water sources not changed, 303 children were checked, the detection rate of dental fluorosis was 43.89%(133/303). Of sixteen and elder adults in water source changed villages, 6424 people were checked and 403 skeletal fluorosis were found, skeletal fluorosis detection rate was 6.27% (403/6424); 3572 people were checked in not changed villages, the detection rate of skeletal fluorosis was 13.89%(496/3572). In water sources changed areas, geometric mean of urinary fluoride was in the normal reference value(WS/T 256-2005, 1.40 mg/L)or less. Conclusions Endemic fluorosis is decreased in water improved areas, but in unimproved areas the disease is still severe, and control of endemic fluorosis is still an arduous task.
