Objective] To investigate the effect and safety of acupoint catgut embedding therapy on treating rheumatoid arthritis. [Method] Using the randomized controlled method, 87 RA patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, the treatment group 45 cases, control group 42 cases. Treatment group with acupuncture point bury line therapy, basic acupoints:Shenshu(BL23), Ganshu(BL18), Dazhu(BL 11),Pishu(BL 20),Geshu(BL 17);With holes according to the patients with lesion to find acupoints. Control group to methotrexate 15 mg per week, folic acid 0.4 mg/qd, prednisone acetate tablets 10 mg/qd, a total of eight weeks after treatment in both groups, evaluation of two groups of patients after treatment of joint disease activity score(DAS-28), long-term efficacy and safety. [Results] At the end of the two groups of patients, treatment after the end of March DAS-28 score was improved significantly, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Comparison between the two group patients, found that after treatment and after treatment in March DAS-28 patients with score more similar between the two groups has no statistical significance( P>0.05 or higher). In six months after the treatment, the treatment way of DAS-28 score<2.6 points in 29 cases, 19 cases in the control group patients DAS-28 score<2.6 points, the long-term clinical curative effect comparison of two groups of patients, the difference was statistically significant(χ2=4.53,P=0.033<0.05), long curative effect in clinical treatment group was better than the control group. The treatment group adverse reactions occurred in 2 cases, control group for 9 cases, two groups of comparisons difference statistically significant(χ2=5.49,P=0.019<0.05), treatment group security was better than the control group. [Conclusion] Acupoint catgut embedding therapy can improve clinical symptoms in patients with RA, and the forward curative effect and adverse reactions were superior to drug therapy, providing more choices for clinical treatment of RA.

Objective A pronunciation aid device had been made by using dental prosthodontic method for the treatment of pronunciation disorder, which is caused by movement dysfunction because of defect of soft palate tissues in cleft lip and palate patients.Methods According to the defect condition in the mouth, two types of pronunciation aid devices had been produced regularly by using maxillary impression, plaster casting and thermoplastic resin materials and so on. Results In the first group of cases, after 3 patients were wearing soft palate movement pronunciation aid device, and then they were given pronunciation training, it is found that their language clearances degrees had been promoted obviously. In the second group of cases, 2 patients were wearing naso-pharynx cavity closing pronunciation aid device, it is found that their nasal sound and nasal leakage were disappeared. And in the same time we gave patients pronunciation training, and after one year, their language clearances degrees were found to be more obviously increased than before.Conclusions Naso-pharynx cavity closing pronunciation aid device and soft palate movement pronunciation aid device are an effective non-surgical treatment methods for the treatment of naso-pharynx cavity closing dysfunction and soft palate movement dysfunction.

METHODS: Based on Visual Basic 6.0 and the powerful automatic data processing capability of Microsoft Excel, the file management system of pharmaceutical preparations was made and put into use. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: This system offers complete and standardized experimental record. The operation is easy and convenient. After inputting the constants and variable data, the system can perform many functions, such as automatic word input, automatic calculation of experimental data, autosaving and autotyping experiment log and automatic record query. The system can greatly enhance work efficiency meanwhile eliminating medicine accident caused by computational errors.

Young faculty are an essential part of a university's strength and is important for its sustainable development.And their scientific research capability is associated with the long-term development of the university.At present,there are 4 major problems with the development of young faculty's research capabilities,which include their relatively single academic knowledge structure,insufficient experience in writing proposals,insufficient opportunities for academic exchange,and inequity in resource allocation.Establishing a training mechanism may help solve some of the problems and promot their development.The research management department of a university must abandon erroneous traditional management concepts,provide research training seminars,develop a new mechanism to stimulate academic exchange,design a system for short-term laboratory rotations,and promote the participation of your faculty in major research projects.These may bring about marked improvement in the improvement of young faculty's research capabilities.

Objective:To research the anti-inflammatory effect of LL-37 in mycobacterium tuberculosis ( Mtb ) infected-macrophages,as well as its influence on the secretion of inflammatory cytokines. Methods:( 1 ) THP-1 cells were cultured and incubated with phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA) to transform into an adherent macrophage-like state (macrophage,Mφ). Then the THP-1 cell derived macrophages were infected with mycobacterium tuberculosis,and then stimulated with different concentrations of LL-37. (2)The experiment was divided into following groups: ① Control group:THP-1+normal saline (NS);② Mtb group:THP-1+Mtb;③Mtb+LL-37 5 μg/ml group:THP-1+Mtb+5 μg/ml LL-37;④Mtb+LL-37 10 μg/ml group:THP-1+Mtb+10 μg/ml LL-37;⑤Mtb+LL-37 20 μg/ml group:THP-1+Mtb+20 μg/ml LL-37. (3) The mRNA expression levels of IL-12p40,TNF-α,IL-4,and IL-10 will be determined by Real-time PCR respectively at 6,12,24 and 48 hours. The secreted levels of IL-12p40,TNF-α,IL-4,and IL-10 will be determined by ELISA analysis respectively at 6,12,24 and 48 hours. Results:The mRNA expression levels and secreted levels of IL-12p40,TNF-α,IL-4 and IL-10 were increased in Mtb group than those in control group. The mRNA expression levels and secreted levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-12p40 and TNF-α were decreased in the LL-37 groups than those in Mtb group. However,anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-4 and IL-10 mRNA expression levels and secreted levels were increased in the LL-37 groups than those in Mtb group. Conclusion:Exogenous LL-37 inhibited the secretion of inflammatory cytokines in macrophages during mycobacterium tu-berculosis infection. The effect is related to the concentrations of LL-37 and the stimulated time of macrophages which were infected with mycobacterium tuberculosis. The results will provide new insights into the treatment of Mtb infection.

Objective:To study the clinical value of peripheral blood Runx3 gene CpG island's methylation in the evaluation of colon cancer's disease condition and prognosis.Methods:Methy1ation specific PCR was used to detect the Runx3 gene CpG island's methylation by Peripheral blood in colon cancer patient (observation group) and healthy people (control group).The Runx3 gene CpG island's methylation rates in different clinicopathological factors were compared.The 3 year survival rate and total survival time between patient with Runx3 gene CpG island's methylation and unmethylation were Compared.Result:The Runx3 gene CpG island's methylation rate in observation group was significantly higher than in control group (P＜0.05).The Runx3 gene CpG island's methylation rates in degree of differentiation,maximum tumor diameter,lymph node metastasis,distant metastasis,TNM staging and surgical resection were significant different (P＜0.05).The 3 year survival rate and total survival time in patient with Runx3 gene CpG island's methylation were significantly higher than in patient with Runx3 gene CpG island's unmethylation.Conclusion:Runx3 gene CpG island is hypermethylated in colon cancer's peripheral blood,which has value in the evaluation of colon cancer's disease condition and prognosis.

Mitochondria ATP synthase is a key enzyme in cellular energy interconversion. It is generally believed that ATP synthase is strictly confined to mitochondria. However, it has been demonstrated that ATP synthase also occurs on the extracellular surface of vascular endothelial cells, tumor cells and adipocytes, instead of normal cells. Based on this characteristic, many functional researches have been conducted on the angiogenesis, tumor inhibition and lipid metabolism, and the mechanism on which this enzyme works has been preliminarily elucidated. The research advances in cell-surface ATP synthase are reviewed in this paper.

Objective To investigate the effects of edaravone on the levels of high sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) and D-dimer in patients with acute ischemic cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 86 patients with acute ischemic cerebral infarction were randomly divided and assigned into therapy group and control group. The control group was given a routine treatment of acute ischemic stroke. The therapy group was treated with edaravone in addition to the routine treatment. hs-CRP and D-dimer were measured before and after treatment. Barthel index(BI) and Chinese stroke Scale(CSS) of two groups were assessed before treatment and after treatment. Results The levels of hs-CRP and D-dimer were deceased after treatment. After the start of edaravone ,the levels of hs-CRP and D-dimer of therapy group were significantly lower than those of control group(P ＜0.05). The scores of CSS and BI of two groups improved after treatment,and scores of CSS and BI of the therapy group were better than those of the control group(P＜ 0.05). Conclusion Edaravone could decrease the levels of hs-CRP and D-dimer and is beneficial to improve neurofunctional recovery.

AIM: To optimize the method of extracion and isolation for anthraquinone component from rhubarb for increasing the extraction rate and purity. METHODS: Rhubarb was extracted 4 times in the refluxing method with ethanol. The borate buffer solution was used as extracted fluid. Rhein, rheum emodin and chrysophanol could be obtained by Deltar 4 000 high-pressure making system, and the pure product obtained by recrystallizing with acetone. The YWG C 18 column was (4.6?250) mm, the flow rate 1.0 ml. min -1, and UV detection wavelength 254 nm. Methanol, water and acid perchloride were taken as mobile phase with the ratio of 910.01. RESULTS: Deltar 4000 high-pressure making system could be used to isolate the anthraquinone component from rhubarb, the purity of rhein, rheum emodin and chrysophanol was more than 80%, and the ertraction rate of rheum emodin reached 0.6%. CONCLUSION: The extraction of the anthraquinone component is simple and cheap with ethanol from rhubarb, and the extraction rate is high. Deltar 4000 high pressure making system can be used to isolate the anthraquinone component from rhubarb with a high the extraction rate and purity.
