AIM: To observe the neovascularization process with no intervention in rat allogenic penetrating keratoplasty. METHODS: Allogenic penetrating keratoplasties were successfully performed in 34 female SPF SD rats with no intervention after operations. Corneal neovascularization(CNV) process was noted on day 4, 7, 15 and 30 with operating microscope. The vascular area surface was calculated using the formula C/12×3.14×[r2-(r-I)2].RESULTS: CNV was noted in 29 out of 34 rats (85%). Firstly, the new vessels distributed around the cornea like a brush then gradually extended towards the center. The vessels were distorted and massive with branched tails, they continued growing to reticulated veins in peak time then gradually atrophied. The average neovascularization area (SE) on day 4, 7, 15 and 30 was 11.8±3.5mm2, 18.5±4.0mm2,14.4±4.3mm2 and 6.0±1.8mm2 respectively and 12.7±1.9mm2 in total. The average percentage that new vessels accounting the whole cornea area(SE) was 30.8%±8.7%, 65.3%±12.8%, 59.4%±14.5%,36.2%±10.9% and 48.7%±6.4% in total.CONCLUSION: In rat allogenic penetrating keratoplasties without intervention, CNV presented on day 4 and reached the maximum area on day 7. Then the vessels gradually atrophied, about 50% of the maximum area still remained on day 30.

Objective:To introduce the experience and clinical efficacy of a new type of negative pressure suction ureteroscope in the treatment of upper ureteral calculi, and compare it with traditional rigid ureteroscope and flexible ureteroscope lithotripsy. Methods:From January 2018 to January 2020, 160 patients with upper ureteral incarcerated calculi who were treated in Shengjing Hospital Affiliated to China Medical University were included in this study, and their clinical data were retrospectively analyzed. There were 50 cases in the rigid ureteroscope group, 54 cases in the flexible ureteroscope group and 56 cases in the new negative pressure combined ureteroscope group. The differences of operation time, hospital stay, stone free rate and postoperative complications were observed and compared among the three groups.According to whether the maximum diameter of the stone is more than 1.5 cm, the subgroups were analyzed to further compare the curative effect of the three groups. Results:All the 160 operations were completed successfully and none of them were converted to open surgery. The stone free rate of the new negative pressure suction ureteroscope Group (90.0% (18/20))was higher than that of the flexible ureteroscope Group (61.9% (13/21)) and the rigid ureteroscope Group (55.6% (10/18)), χ 2=8.49, P<0.001). The stone free rate in the first month after operation was also superior (96.4% (54/56), 77.7% (42/54), 74.0% (37/50), χ 2=5.48, P=0.01). The stone subgroup analysis showed that when the stone diameter increased (>1.5 cm), the net stone rate of the new negative pressure suction ureteroscope Group [91.6% (22 / 24)] was better than that of the flexible ureteroscope Group (62.5% (15/24)) and the rigid ureteroscope Group (50.0 (8/16))(χ 2=6.480, P=0.001). Conclusion:Compared with the traditional ureteroscopic lithotripsy, the new negative pressure suction ureteroscopic lithotripsy has higher initial and overall stone free rate, and higher safety factor. For the patients with stone diameter>1.5 cm, the new negative pressure suction ureteroscope lithotripsy has more advantages.

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(08):-
The factor of antiapoptosis in cancer is recently identified as survivin. Survivin is prominently overexpressed in embryonic and fetal tissues, and various human cancers. It is potentially involved in both inhibition of apoptosis and control of cell division. Recently, survivin is found to be correlated with the genesis, progress, and prognosis of urological cancer. Manipulation of the antiapoptotic pathway maintained by survivin may be beneficial for cancer therapy. Progressive research of survivin in urological cancer.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(06):-
To study the mechanism of therapeutie effect of compound "Huang Dai" tablet in acute promyelocytic leukemia, twenty one patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia were treated with compound "Huang Dai" tablet. Bone marrow cells of the patients were collected before treatment and after treatment, and membrane differentiating antigen (CD33 and CD11b), cell cycle and the apoptosis correlative protein(Fas and Apo 2.7 )were detected with flow cytometry. Results showed that the expression of CD33 was decreased and that of CD11b increased, G 2 /M phase of cell cycle was blocked, and the expressions of Fas and Apo 2.7 protein were increased significantly in all patents after treatment with compound "Huang Dai" tablet. These results suggested that the mechanism of therapeutic effect of compound "Huang Dai" tablet in acute promyelocytic leukemia was induction of both differentiation and apoptosis of leukemic cells, and cell apoptosis might be related to Fas and Apo2.7 protein.

Objective To investigate the impact of photodynamic therapy (PDT) with verteporfin on the expression of pigment epithelial derivative factor (PEDF) mRNA and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) mRNA in adult retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells in vitro. Methods The changes of cellular viability before and after PDT were assessed by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolum (MTT) colorimetric assay. Semiquantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was conducted to detect the expression of PEDF and VEGF mRNA in RPE cells before and after PDT. Results PDT caused the death of RPE cells. The cellular mortality was positively correlated with the power of photocoagulation and the concentration of verteporfin. Conclusion PDT could down-regulate the expression of PEDF and VEGF mRNA in adult RPE cells in vitro, which may relate to the cure or relapse of subfoveal choroidal neovascular membrane after PDT.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2018;32(2):148-152
Since Fujita first described uvulopalatopharyngoplasty(UPPP)in 1981,UPPP and its modified procedures have been widely used to treat obstructive sleep apnea and hyponea syndrome(OSAHS).However, despite of its wide application, the success rates was uncertain, ranging from 20% to 80%,with patients of varing Friedman stages. It is well known that the principle of UPPP is to remove the redundant tissue of palate, elongated uvula and hypertrophic tonsils in order to widen the anteroposterior space at the level of palate. But recently, surgeons have found that not only the collapse of soft palate but also the collapse of lateral wall at the palate level can contribute to the obstruction of upper airway at the level of palate. As a result, many surgeries which can widen the lateral velopharyneal space have sprung up in these years. This review focuses on the development of techniques that emphasize the enlargement of lateral velopharyneal space in patients with OSAHS.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2005;26(4):390-395
Objective:To determine whether heme oxygenase-2(HO-2) gene deletion can attenuate oxidative injury induced by free Fe2+. Methods:Stereotactic injection of 10 μl sterile FeCl2 (10 mmol/L) was made into the right striata of HO-2 knockout mice and wild-type mice. Brain edema severity was measured at 24 h. Cell viability, protein oxidation, and lipid oxidation of the basal ganglia were determined at 72 h. Western blot analysis was applied for heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) measurement. Results: Brain water content significantly decreased in HO-2 knockout mice at 24 h compared with wild-type mice. Protein oxidation and lipid oxidation significantly decreased in HO-2 knockout mice at 72 h compared with wild-type mice, while the striatal cell viability increased significantly. HO-1 expression at baseline and 72 h was also similar to that in wild-type mice. Conclusion:These results show that HO-2 gene deletion can protect basal ganalia cells from free Fe2+ -mediated oxidative stress injury, suggesting that selective inhibition of HO-2 may have a protective effect on brain oxidative injury.
