Objective To observe the effect of Tangluotong Decoction(Decoctions of removing obstruction of meridians for treating diabetes)based on the principle of reinforcing kidney,activating blood and removing obstruction of meridians on the early diabetic nephropathy(DN)patients.Methods Totally 68 DN patients were randomized into two groups.In addition to the routine treatment for diabetes,the treatment group(38 patients)was administered Tangluotong Decoction while the control group(30 patients)was giv- en Lossartan Potassium Tablets.The clinical symptoms and signs and lab indices before and after treatment were observed.Results The comprehensive total effective rate of the treatment group was 89.47% while that of control group was 60.00%,the difference was significant(P
4.Induction of apoptosis of peripheral activated T lymphocytes by immunosuppressants

Objective To investigate the effects and mechanisms of immunosuppressants on in- duction of apoptosis of peripheral T lymphocytes.Methods T lymphocytes were derived from healthy donors and activated by super antigen SEB.The rest or activated T lymphocytes were incubated with immunosuppressants such as myophenolate mofetil (MMF),cyclosporine A (CsA),FK506,azathio- prine (Aza),sirolimus (SRL),prednisone (Pred),and daclizumab (Dac,anti-CD25mAb),alone or combined,for 3 days.The incidence of apoptosis was determined by the methods of confocal microsco- py,flow cytometer,DNA-ladder fragmentation electrophoresis,and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) gene amplification profiles.The quantitive assay of IL-2 and Fas in the cul- ture medium was also performed using the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay kit.Results Apoptosis in rest T lymphocytes was just induced by Pred among various immunosuppressants.MMF,Aza,and Pred promoted apoptosis in activated T lymphocytes (P<0.05,P<0.01),but it was blocked by CsA,FK506,SRL,and Dac (P<0.01).After adding two or three kinds of immunosuppressants, the incidence of apoptosis in activated T lymphocytes was apparently lower than in control group (P<0.01).The expression of Fas and IL-2 by activated T lymphocytes was inhibited by FK506 and CsA (P<0.05).Conclusion MMF,Aza,and Pred may induce apoptosis of activated T lymphocytes via the signal pathway of Fas/Fasl.CsA and FK506 could inhibit the apoptosis of activated T lymphocytes by blocking the production of IL-2.Also,SRL and Dac can block the apoptosis of activated T lympho- cyte by interfering with the effect of IL-2 on T lymphocytes activation process.
6.Role and significance of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase signal transduction pathway in biopterin induction in rats with endotoxic shock

Objective To investigate the effect of the inhibitor SB203580 of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal transduction pathway on biopterin (BH 4)/nitric oxide (NO) expression and elucidate the potential mechanism of MAPK in biopterin-mediated NO induction after endotoxic shock. Methods A total of 56 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into normal control group (n=8), endotoxic shock group (n=32) and SB203580 treatment group (n=16). After animals were sacrificed, tissue samples from the liver, the lungs as well as the kidneys were harvested to determine the expressions of guanosine triphosphate cyclohydrolase I (GTP-CHI) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) mRNA and observe the changes of BH 4 and NO levels in blood and tissues. Results With endotoxin challenge, GTP-CHI mRNA expression and BH 4 levels were significantly elevated in various tissues and maintained at high levels up to 24 hours. Similarly, the iNOS mRNA expression and NO levels in the tissues significantly increased too, especially in the liver and the lungs. 7.Study of humanistic care to release psychological stress in lung cancer patients during diagnostic process

Objective To explore the influence of humanistic care on psychological stress in diag-nostic process for patients with lung cancer. Methods 40 suspicious lung cancer patients were divided into the experimental group and the control group according to admission sequence. The control group ac-cepted routine care, the experimental group received humanistic care based upon routine care. Zung's self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and self- rating depression scale(SDS) were applied in two groups at admission day and 2 days post- diagnosis, the results underwent comparison with norm using t test. Results On ad-mission day 2 groups showed no significant difference in SAS and SDS, 2 days post- diagnosis the SAS and SDS score were evidently lower than those of the control group. Conclusions Lung cancer patients were in anxiety and depression condition during diagnostic process, and humanistic care could effectively relieve their psychological stress.
8.Research progress of the central mechanism of acupuncture-moxibustion for simple obesity

Obesity often results when regular caloric intake exceeds the energy expenditure. Hypothalamus is the center that regulates feeding and energy balance inside the body, especially the lateral hypothalamic area (LHA) and ventromedial nucleus (VMN). Acupuncture-moxibustion has achieved significant progress in treating simple obesity, and the relevant studies have revealed the central action mechanism underlying the treatment. By reviewing the literatures associated with the mechanism studies on acupuncture-moxibustion for simple obesity, this article is going to provide clinical and scientific guidance for the treatment of simple obesity with acupuncture-moxibustion.
9.Signal transduction mechanism on hormesis of human marrow mesenchymal stem cell induced by low dose radiation

Objective To investigate the hormesis effect on human marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)induced by low dose radiation(LDR) and its related signal transduction mechanism.Methods Human marrow MSCs and K562 cells were divided into control group,radiation group and SB203580 group.The dose of radiation was 75 mGy in three group.The expression levels of P38MAPK,P53,P21 and proliferation index(PI) were observed at 24 h after radiation,The expressions of phosphor-P38MAPK(p-P38MAPK) of K562 cells and MSCs were observed immediatly,4,12 and 24 h after radiation.SB203580 was adjusted to 5 ?mol?L-1 end concentration according to the culture liquid volume in SB203580 group,and was added at 1 h before experiment.Results The expression of p-P38MAPK of human MSCs attained peak at 12 h after 75 mGy radiation,the expression levels of P53 and P21 protein were dereased,PI was increased,P38MAPK didn't change;P53 and P21were increased,PI was decreased after P38MAPK kinase activity was inhibited with SB203580;the expression levels of p-P38MAPK,P53,P21,P38MAPK and PI of K562 cells didn't change at 24 h after 75 mGy radiation;PI was slightly decreased,P21 was slightly increased after addition of SB203580.Conclusion LDR can induce hormesis of human MSCs,the proliferation hormesis is mediated by P38MAPK signal and related to down-regulation of P21 which is P53 dependent.
10.Accuracy evaluation of CyberKnife system

Objective To evalutate the accuracy of CyberKnife system and measure its relative output factor.Methods The accuracy of target localization of the system was measured with E2E test,film dosimetry,6D-skull tracking mode and fiducial tracking mode.Six kinds of detectors were used to detect the collimators of the system.Results The positioning errors were (0.531 ±0.293) and (0.482±0.297) mm respectively by 6D-skull tracking mode and fiducial tracking mode.The detectors proved the relative output factors of 5-mm collimator were 0.133 ±0.006,0.320±0.010,0.635 ±0.010,0.656±0.009,0.777± 0.013 and 0.680±0.014,and those of 35-mm collimator were 0.983±0.002,0.990±0.002,0.987±0.001,0.992±0.002,0.990± 0.010 and 0.981 ±0.010.Conclusion The total error of CyberKnife system was less than 1 mm.Large collimater has high consistencies between the output factors of the detectors,while there are significant differences between the output factors in case of the collimater with the diameter less than 15 mm.
