ObjectiveTo observe clinical results and histopathological changes of scleral defect repaired with acellular xenogenic dermal matrix (Xeno-ADM) in rabbits.MethodsModel of rabbit sclera defect was established, and repaired with Xeno-ADM. The rabbits were clinically examined for inflammation and eyeball healing. The animals were sacrificed at 2nd and 4th week after operation, and implants were obtained and examined histopathologyically and ultrastructully with light microscopies respectively to evaluating changes of inflammation and vascularization.ResultsThere were no obvious inflammation and eyeball deformation observed. 2 weeks after implantation, the partial inflammatory cell invasion was seen with the light microscopy, and there was an obvious borderline between the Xeno-ADM and the sclera. 4 weeks after implantation, the inflammatory cells were reduced noticeably, the Xeno-ADM and the sclera completely merged with each other.ConclusionThe acellular xenogenic dermal matrix may be an ideal materix with fast neovascularization and low immunity for replace of sclera implants.

The experiment's aim was to optimize the processing technology of Xanthii Fructus which through comparing the difference of UPLC fingerprint and contents of toxicity ingredient in water extract of 16 batches of processed sample. The determination condition of UPLC chromatographic and contents of toxicity ingredient were as follows. UPLC chromatographic: ACQUITY BEH C18 column (2.1 mm x 100 mm, 1.7 microm) eluted with the mobile phases of acetonitrile and 0.1% phosphoric acidwater in gradient mode, the flow rate was 0.25 mL x min(-1) and the detection wavelength was set at 327 nm. Contents of toxicity ingredient: Agilent TC-C18 column (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 microm), mobile phase was methanol-0.01 mol x L(-1) sodium dihydrogen phosphate (35: 65), flow rate was 1.0 mL x min(-1), and detection wavelength was 203 nm. The chromatographic fingerprints 16 batches of samples were analyzed in using the similarity evaluation system of chromatographic, fingerprint of traditional Chinese medicine, SPSS16.0 and SIMCA13.0 software, respectively. The similarity degrees of the 16 batches samples were more than 0.97, all the samples were classified into four categories, and the PCA showed that the peak area of chlorogenic acid, 3,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid and caffeic acid were significantly effect index in fingerprint of processed Xanthii Fructus sample. The outcome of determination showed that the toxicity ingredient contents of all samples reduced significantly after processing. This method can be used in optimizing the processing technology of Xanthii Fructus.

Objective To explore the role and relationship of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9 ) in risk stratification and prognosis assessment of non-ST elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS).Methods We recruited 114 patients with NSTE-ACS and classified them into three groups according to the GRACE risk stratification:high-risk,intermediate-risk and low-risk groups.Another 5 8 patients were recruited as controls.Arterial blood was collected before angiography for the measurement of serum NT-proBNP and MMP-9 .Gensini score was used to evaluate the degree of coronary artery stenosis. All the patients were followed up for 6 months and MACE was observed and recorded. Results ① The levels of lg NT-proBNP and MMP-9 significantly differed between the groups (P<0.05).② ROC curve analysis showed that lg NT-proBNP could predict MACE of NSTE-ACS;area under the curve was 0.795,the cutoff value was 2 .0 6 9 ,corresponding to the NT-proBNP value of 1 1 6 .5 6 ng/L.MMP-9 could predict MACE of NSTE-ACS;area under the curve was 0 .6 9 6 ,the cutoff value was 3 2 .4 9 ng/ml;both of the abnormal indexes could predict MACE with the sensitivity of 80.41%,specificity of 82.19%,and Youden’s index of 0.63.③ Cox regression analysis showed that abnormal MMP-9 and NT-proBNP levels were independently related to the incidence of MACE by the value of OR as 3.751.Conclusion MMP-9 and NT-proBNP may be used as serological indicators in risk stratification of NSTE-ACS. The combined use of NT-proBNP and MMP-9 increases the power of predicting MACE.

OBJECTIVETo present a method of quantitative diagnosis of craniofacial skeleton deformities based on three-dimensional computed tomography (3D CT).
METHODS20 cases with facial asymmetric deformities underwent 3D CT and the 3D images were reconstructed by Mimics 10.0 (Belgium). Anatomical landmarks were located and the coordinate of the landmarks obtained. Axial images of 1 patient with Romberg disease was used as representative case. The differences in the distance between the right landmarks and the left were calculated and analyzed.
RESULTSThe measurement results were not significantly different between two stages with an interval of 4 weeks ( P > 0.05), showing a reproducible resutls. The deviation of landmarks at facial midline increased gradually from upward to downward, reaching (2.63 +/- 0.54) mm at menton point. Paired landmarks showed asymmetry in three dimensions, especially gonion point on the left side, which was deviated 10.21 mm inward, 9.26 mm forward, 6.30 mm upward, compared to the opposite side.
CONCLUSIONSThe method of 3D CT quantitative analysis can provide precise information in the diagnosis and treatment planning of facial asymmetry deformity.
