Objective To establish the quality standard for Zhilining pill. Methods TLC was employed to identify Radix Sophorae Flavescentis and Radix Aucklandiae while the content of dehydroandrographolide in Zhilining pill was detemined by HPLC. Results TLC findings of Radix Sophorae Flavescentis and Radix Aucklandiae showed the spots of same colors as those developed in the corresponding places of control medical materials. Good liner was observed when the samplesize of dehydroandrographolide was within the range of 0.062~1.550 ?g (r =1.000 0). The average recovery rate was 98.00% with RSD=0.90%. Conclusion The method is simple, accurate, stable, reliable and with good reproducibility, which can be used for the quality control of Zhilining pill.

Objective To study the effect of Gabapentin(GBP)on the transient receptor potential vanilloid l(TRPV1)in dorsal root ganglion (DRG)of rats with chronic constriction injury(CCI). Methods SD male rats were used to establish CCI model and randomly divided into 3 groups, the control group, the CCI group, and the CCI+GBP group. Mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia were measured to evaluate the es?tablishment of CCI model and the analgesic effect of GBP. At the postoperative 8 days, all rats were sacrificed and dorsal root ganglions were collect?ed for further RT?PCR and Western?blotting analysis to detect expression of TRVP1 in DRG. Results The mRNA and protein expression of TRPV1 were both significantly increased in DRG after CCI operation and GBP could decrease mRNA expression of TRPV1 gene in DRG after CCI. Conclusion The expression of TRPV1 was increased in DRG after CCI operation which was decreased after administration of GBP.

To optimize bacteriocin production, researching was done on the respect of incubation condition and the media components. And the optimum incubation time was 24h, the optimum temperature was 30℃, the optimum broth initial pH was 6.5. The optimum media component was: lactose 30g, trypone 15g, soybean peptone 20g, meat extract 30g, peptonethe 20g, Tween 80 1mL, K_(2)HPO_(4 )2g, NaAc 5g, Tri-Ammonium citrate 2g, (MgSO_(4)) 0.58g, MnSO_(4) 0.25g, H_(2)O 1000mL. Production of bactericoin under the optimum broth was 640AU/mL, 8 times than MRS media.

[ ABSTRACT] AIM:To observe the effect of endogenous nitric oxide synthase ( NOS) inhibitor asymmetric dimeth-ylarginine ( ADMA ) and its signaling pathways on NO levels and skeletal muscle contractility in 4-week running rats. METHODS:The 4 weeks running rat model was established. The twitch tension, tetanic tension and the fatigue test of sole-us muscle induced by electrical stimulation ex vivo were detected. The ATP content, mitochondrial DNA levels and the mR-NA expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γcoactivator-1α(PGC-1α), nuclear respiratory factor (NRF) were measured to reflect the mitochondrial function and biosynthesis in the skeletal muscle.Serum ADMA concentration was detected by high performance liquid chromatography. The endogenous ADMA enzymes PRMT1 and 2 subtypes of ADMA me-tabolism enzyme DDAH, 3 subtypes of NOS protein expression in the skeletal muscle were determined by Western blot.NOS activity and nitric oxide ( NO) content were analyzed by colorimetric method.RESULTS: Compared with normal control group, the twitch tension, tetanic tension and the anti-fatigue capability of soleus muscle in running group were significantly enhanced, ATP content, mitochondrial DNA content and the mRNA expression of PGC-1αand NRF were significantly in-creased (P<0.01).In addition, the protein expression of constitute type NOS (cNOS) and NOS activity were significantly increased (P<0.01), but the increase in NO content was relatively smaller in soleus muscle in exercise group (P<0.05). Moreover, serum ADMA concentration in running group was increased, while the DDAH2 expression in skeletal muscle was decreased.CONCLUSION:Short-term endurance exercise enhances the twitch tension, tetanic tension and fatigue resist-
ance of soleus muscle. The mechanism may be that increased cNOS expression feedbacks to increase ADMA concentration, thus maintaining the increase in NO synthesis at a relatively low level, and resulting in promoting skeletal muscle mitochon-dria biosynthesis and mitochondrial function.

ATP-binding cassette transporter A1 (ABCA1) and scavenger receptor class B type I (SR-BI/CLA-1) are the key proteins in reverse cholesterol transport (RCT). The high expression of ABCA1 and SR-BI/CLA-1 can decrease the danger of atherosclerosis. The purpose of the study is to find ABCA1 and CLA-1up-regulators for treating atherosclerosis by using cell-based high throughput screening models. Among 20 000 compounds screened, E0869 [1-(3, 4-dimethylphenyl)-1-oxopropan-2-yll4-((methylsulfonyl)methyl)benzoate] was found as the positive hit. The up-regulated activities of E0869 in ABCAl1-LUC and bCA-l1-LUC HepG2 cell were 160% and 175%, respectively. The EC50 values of E0869 in ABCAl1-LUC and CLA-l1-LUC HepG2 cell were 3.79 and 1.42 pμol- x ,(-1) respectively. E0869 could upregulate the mRNA and protein levels of ABCA1, SR-BI/CLA-1 and ABCGJ1genes in HepG2 and RAW264.7 cells by Real-Time Quantitative PCR and Western blotting analysis, but could not influence the expression of FAS, SREBP-l1 and CD36. Foam cell assay showed that E0869 could inhibit lipids accumulation in mouse peritoneal macrophages RAW264.7. Cholesterol efflux assay showed that E0869 could induce HDL-mediated cholesterol efflux in mouse peritoneal macrophages RAW264.7. In conclusion, E0869 could up-regulate ABCA1 and CLA-1 activity, and had good anti-atherosclerotic activity in vitro.

Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2008;24(16):11-13
Objective This study aimed to discuss the different assessment of pain among medical and nursing staff and cancer patients and supply reference for proper analgesic precept for clinical application and nursing measures. Methods We collected the assessment of psychological pain and physiological pain by 55 hospitalization cancer patients, 40 physicians in-charge and 55 nurses in-charge in one week by Johnson inventory. The assessment results were compared and at the same time the relevant problems of the attitude to cancer pain by patients was also investigated. Results Improper recognition existed in cancer pain treatment by most cancer patients. The physiological pain was higher than the psychological pain assessed by both patients and nurses (P<0.05). But the pain assessment by patients was higher than that by the nurses (P<0.05). The assessment of psychological pain was higher than the physiological pain by doctors and both aspects were lower than those by patients, but no statistical difference was seen (P>0.05). The assessment by doctors was more accurate than that by nurses. Conclusions Routine establishment of pain assessment inventory for patients could instruct patients how to record the degree of their pain. We should strengthen the standard training about pain management knowledge and give timely communication with patients' cancer pain.
