Metastasis to liver is the most happened distant metastasis and is the leading cause of death in patients with colorectal cancer.Complete surgical resection of liver metastases from colorectal cancer is major curative method for resectable metasrases.Other methods such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, hepatic ar-tery intervention, radiotherapy, radiofrequenly ablation or cryo-ablation should be considered.Both systemic and local treatment are.important for liver metastasis from colorectal cancer.

OBJECTIVE: To study the antimicrobial effect of 11 kinds of oral Chinese patent medicines and to establish microbial limit test method for them. METHODS: Common method and culture medium dilution method and sticked filter membrane method were used to do the recovery test in order to validate the scientificity and feasibility of established method. RESULTS: Danqi piantan capsule showed strong inhibition effect on Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis. Xinshuning tablet, Fuzheng mixture, Shenkangning mixture, Qingshen xiaodu oral liquid had antimicrobial effect on Staphylococcus aureus to some extent. Banlangen granule had antimicrobial effect on Bacillus subtilis. The effect can be eliminated by culture medium dilution method. CONCLUSION: The common method can be used for the microbial limit test of Jiaoou capsule, Zhike ningsou capsule, Rongdanshi granule, Sanjie mingmu capsule, Jiangzhi ruanmai tablet. Dilution method can be used for the microbial limit test of Xinshuning tablet, Fuzheng mixture, Shenkangning mixture, Qingshen xiaodu oral liquid, Banlangen granule, Danqi piantan capsule. The common method is suitable for all kinds of specified microorganisms.

Objective To detect the expression of the transcription factor CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein alpha (C/EBP-α) in the epidermis of psoriasis vulgaris lesions,and to investigate its correlation with abnormal keratinocyte proliferation and disease severity.Methods Biopsy specimens were obtained from the lesions of 30 patients with psoriasis vulgaris and normal skin of 30 healthy human controls.A two-step immunohistochemical procedure was performed to detect the expressions of C/EBP-αt and Ki-67 in these specimens,and Western blot to quantify the expression of C/EBP-α.The proliferation index of keratinocytes was calculated according to the expression intensity of Ki-67.Statistical analysis was carried out by using the SPSS 17.0 software,and Pearson correlation analysis was conducted to assess the relationship of C/EBP-α expression level with proliferation index of keratinocytes and psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) score.Results C/EBP-α was predominantly expressed in the cytoplasm of keratinocytes,while Ki-67 in the nuclei of keratinocytes.Compared with the normal skin,the psoriatic lesions showed a significantly lower expression of Ki-67 (t =7.82,P ＜ 0.05),but higher proliferation index of keratinocytes (t =4.54,P ＜ 0.05).The expression level of C/EBP-α was negatively correlated with the proliferation index of keratinocytes and PASI score in the patients (both P ＜ 0.05).Western blot also showed an obvious decrease in the expression of C/EBP-α in psoriatic lesions.Conclusions The expression of C/EBP-α is decreased in lesions of psoriasis vulgaris,which might be involved in the pathogenesis of psoriasis vulgaris.

Objective To investigate the surgical method and clinical curative results of acetabulum top compression fractures with sea gull sign. Methods Data of 14 patients who had acetabulum top compression fractures with sea gull sign were retrospectively analyzed and were accepted surgical therapy and followed up. There were 5 females and 9 males, aged from 28 to 71 years (average, 49.9 years). The pre-operative time was from 4 to 14 days (average, 9 days). Letournel-Judet fracture classifica-tion:eight cases for the anterior column+posterior semi-transverse, six cases for a simple anterior column. Three patients with lum-bar compression fracture, two patients with tibial plateau fracture, one patient with multiple rib fractures. All patients were accept-ed open reduction and bone graft and internal fixation through ilioinguinal approach or ilioinguinal approach+Kocher-Langenbeck approach. The quality of fracture reduction was assessed according to the Matta reduction criterion after operation. The hip func-tion was evaluated according to Matta. Results 14 patients were followed up from 6 to 60 months (average, 36 months). All pa-tients reached bone healing;healing time was from 3 months to 4 months (average, 3.4 months). According to the Matta reset stan-dard after operation, there were 6 excellent cases, 5 good cases, 2 fair cases, 1 poor case, the excellent and good rate was 78.5%(11/14). The Matta was from 10 to 18 scores (average, 16.4 scores), 5 excellent cases, 5 good cases, 3 fair cases, 1 poor case, the ex-cellent and good rate was 71.4%(10/14). Traumatic arthritis occurred in 3 patients. Pain was serious in two patients and disap-peared after total hip joint replacement. Pain was mild for one patient and disappeared after accepted non steroidal painkiller. One patient had heterotopic ossification after operation, which was not treatmented because of no obvious symptom. Conclusion The appropriate operation time of acetabular roof compression fracture with sea gull sign was from 5 to 10 days after fracture, which was no more than two weeks had best. Through ilioinguinal approach or ilioinguinal approach+Kocher-Langenbeck approach, the articular surface could be reduced excellent and got sufficient bone graft. The clinical efficacy was satisfactory after operation.

BACKGROUND:Advancement in bioengineering based upon tissue engineering techniques may offer the possibility of repairing degenerative intervertebral disc.
OBJECTIVE:To summarize the research progress in the scaffolds of tissue engineered intervertebral disc.
METHODS:A computer-based retrieval was performed to search manuscripts describing tissue engineered intervertebral disc scaffolds published between January 1st, 1900 and December 31st, 2012 in PubMed database with the key words of“tissue engineering, intervertebral disc, scaffold”in English.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Scaffold is an important part of tissue-engineered research. There are three kinds of materials for intervertebral disc scaffolds:natural biomaterials, synthetic materials, and composite materials. A variety of scaffold materials have their own advantages and disadvantages. Up to now, none of these scaffold materials is accepted as the most suitable one. The selection of scaffold materials is stil to be further studied. The study and development of nanoscale biomaterials is an inevitable trend. Otherwise, with the help of bionics, improving scaffolds is also an inexorable trend in progress of simulating human intervertebral disc. Furthermore, injectable scaffold is also an research hot spot, and the selection range of injectable scaffold materials mainly focuses on chitosan, typeⅡcolagen,hyaluronic acid,fibrin,elastin,and alginate.C urrently, studies on chitosan as a scaffold material are relatively more.

E2 gene of BVDV Changchun 184 strain was cloned and inserted into the shuttle expression plasmid vector pMV261,the recombinant shuttle plasmid pMV261-E2 was constructed.Then pMV261-E2 was transformed into BCG successfully and obtained recombinant BCG which was resistive to kanamyein.The recombinant BCG were identifieated by PCR.E2 gene expression in recombinant BCG was induced in 45℃,then the SDS-PAGE and western blotting was used to analyze the expression product.The results indicated the BVDV E2 gene was expressd in BCG successfully.

_ Objective_ To observe the effect of vaspin on the proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in rats and its potential mechanism. Methods Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells( BMSCs) from 4 weeks aged rats were isolated and cultured. The BMSCs were treated with osteogenic induction medium and different concentrations of vaspin and Wnt signaling pathway inhibitor DKK1. The proliferation was detected by CCK8 method at 24, 48, 72 h. After 7 days, the mRNA expressions of ALP, Runx2,β-catenin were detected by realtime qPCR. The expression levels of Runx2 and β-catenin protein were detected by Western blot. After 21 days, alizarin red stained mineralized nodules and quantitative detection were performed. Results Vaspin had no effect on the proliferation but promoted the expression of osteogenic differentiation gene ALP, Runx2, and also increasedβ-catenin mRNA and expression of Runx2 and β-catenin protein. Mineralized nodules were brown and increased, OD value of vaspin group was higher than control group. After adding the DKK1, the expression of ALP, Runx2,β-catenin mRNA and Runx2, β-catenin protein were significantly decreased(all P<0. 05). Conclusion Vaspin can promote BMSCs into osteogenic differention through the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

Objective To explore the effective treatment of acute deep venous thrombosis(DVT) of left lower extremity accompanied with Cockett syndrome.Methods The data of 16 patients with acute DVT of left lower extremity accompanied with Cockett syndrome,who were admitted to our hospital from August,2004 to January,2008,were analyzed retrospectively.Inferior vena caval filters were inserted and thrombectomy was done to all of the 16 patients;PTA and stent insertion were done in 13 patients and PTA only in the other 3 patients.Anticoagulation,thrombolysis and antiplatelet therapy were given postoperatively to all the patients.Results There was no death or pulmonary embolism in all 16 patients;Forteen patieats had good outcome,2 had acute DVT of left lower extremity one day after surgery,and limbs swelling subsided after anticoagulation,thrombolysis and antiplatelet treatment before their discharge.Forteen patients were followed up from 1 month to 25 months(average 11 months),and 2 patients had post-DVT syndrome,but the others had no swelling or varicose veins of the lower extremity.Conclusions Most patients with acute DVT of left lower extremity accompanied with Cockett syndrome could get satisfactory outcome with thrombectomy,PTA and stent insertion.

Objective: To measure the iodine nutritional status of students in Zhoushan Islands and evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of iodized salt prophylaxis. Methods: A comparative study was carried out in 12 classes which were selected from Dinghai(iodized salt district) and Daishan(non-iodized salt district) of Zhoushan Islands by random sampling. Mann-Whitney test was used to compare the urinary iodine concentration and dietary iodine intake of the two groups. Spearman correlation was used to look for the correlation between urinary iodine concentration and dietary iodine intake in the two groups. Ordinal regression was used to analyze the factors that affect the urinary iodine concentration. Poisson regression was used to analyze the risk factors of goiter.Results: The urinary iodine concentration in non-iodized salt district was 129 ?g/L,which was lower than 169 ?g/L in iodized salt district(u=6.302,P=0.000) , whereas the daily iodine intake in the two groups was 105 ?g/d and 184 ?g/d respectively, the difference was also significant(u=4.710,P=0.000). The influence of sex and iodized-salt intake was significant in the final regression model (P0.05). Objective: To construct mcpr1prokaryoti c expression vector and to express MCPR1 protein.Methods:PCR was used to obtain coding region of mcpr1. Construction of a high-level fusion protein expression vector pGEX-4T-mcpr1 was conducted by inserting the fra gment of coding region of mcpr1into a fusion protein expression vector pGEX -4T-1. Then the recombinant plasmid was transferred into E. colito prepar e the MCPR1/GST fusion protein. DNA sequencing and endonucleases digesting were used to check the coding region. Results:pGEX-4T- mcpr1 wa s constructed successfully and the coding region was inserted into the vector co rrectly. A new protein band of 36 000 was observed by SDS-PAGE analysis after i nduction by IPTG. The 36 000 protein amounted to 39 percent of the total prote in and existed mostly in precipitation of broken bacteria. Conclusion: MCPR1 protein can be expressed in E. coliexpression system and purif ied initially.
