National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(6):541-544
OBJECTIVETo improve the methods and reduce the complications of circumcision with a disposable suture device.
METHODSThis study included 325 male patients aged 14-65 (mean 28.9) years, treated for redundant prepuce or phimosis by modified (n = 201) or conventional circumcision with a disposable suture device (n = 124). We compared the incidence of complications and the patients' satisfaction between the two surgical methods.
RESULTSCompared with conventional circumcision, the modified method showed a significantly lower incidence of postoperative bleeding (14.52% vs 2.49% , P < 0.05) and a lower rate of second surgery for penile hematoma (4.03% vs 0.50%, P < 0.05). The patients' satisfaction was markedly higher with the modified method (91.94%) than with conventional circumcision (97.51%) (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONModified circumcision with the disposable suture device can significantly reduce the incidence of postoperative bleeding and penile hematoma and therefore deserves wide clinical application.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 1998;0(11):-
Objective To find out about the causes of death of child-bearing women in Shenyang so as to provide basis for the improvement of child-bearing women's reproductive health. Methods A retrospective statistical survey into the death reporting system of Shenyang was conducted and a comparison was made between various age groups of child-bearing women from 1996 to 2000 with regard to the trends of changes in death, the rank order of causes of death and deaths due to malignant tumors. Results From 1996 to 2000, the death rate of child-bearing women in Shenyang was in a state of fluctuation. The case-death ratio in urban areas was 67.24 per 100 thousand people while the case-death ratio in rural areas was 45.97 per 100 thousand. Urban women aged 35 to 49 accounted for most of the deaths among child-bearing women. The rate of death due to cancers in urban areas was markedly higher than that in rural areas. The deaths of child-bearing women due to mammary and reproductive system cancers accounted for one fourths of deaths caused by cancer, with their incidence rate in rural areas being higher than in urban areas. Conclusion More work needs to be done to improve the healthcare of child-bearing women.

Journal of Jilin University(Medicine Edition) 2000;26(2):142-143
Objective:To observe the living cells on the surface of intraocular lenses and to compare the cellular numbers and morphology of prestaining to that of poststaining. Methods:Twenty adult pigment rabbit eyes were given posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation.Lenses were extracted and put into 1640 cell cultural liquid immediately on the 1 st,3 rd,7 th,14 th and 28 th day respectively after operatrion. The samples were observed under inverted phase contrast microscope subsequently. Results:We found cells deposited on the surface of lenses from 1 st to 28 th day after operation. These cells contracted and lost three-demensional appearance while its number was less than that of prestaining obviously. Conclusion:A part of cells remove from the surface of lenses during staining;however,we could count the number but could not affirm cellular types which would make error in cellular classification and counting. The fact suggests that we should discover new accurate and reliable methods to avoid mistakes during experiment.
4.Endocrine glands-derived-vascular endothelial growth factor and tumor
China Oncology 2001;0(02):-
The review is focused on the development and recent research of the first tissue-specific angiogenic molecule, endocrine gland-derived vascular endothelial growth factor(EG-VEGF).It has been found that EG-VEGF only targeted on steroidgenic endocrine organs or cells through G-protein coupled receptor, the phosphorylation of G-protein coupled receptor could activate mitogen-activated protein kinase p44/42 and phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase(PI3K) pathways signal transdution. There are many reports that believes MAPK and PI3K is involved in the regulation of proliferation, migration, survival of endothelial cells and tumor angiogenesis,so EG-VEGF may serve as a potential target for antiangiogenic therapy of cancer in the future.

Osteoarthritis is a chronic disabling disease that tends to occur in middle-aged and elderly population, the main pathological characteristics are the dynamic imbalance between the synthesis and degradation of articular chondrocytes, extracellular matrix and subchondral bone. The occurrence and development is related to many factors. This article reviews the structure, the function and the interaction between α2-macroglobulins and a disintegrin and metallo-proteinase with throm-bospondin motifs in the development of osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a kind of chronic and frequently-occurring disease in the elderly. It is also called degenerative disease.Pain, stiffness, swelling, deformity and dysfunction of joints are the main clinical manifestations, which seriously affect the quality of life.Kaschin-Beck Disease (KBD) is a kind of endemic diseases;its main feature is cartilage degeneration and necrosis.Although KBD becomes a typical OA in late stage,it is different from OA.Osteoprotegerin (OPG) and insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-1 participate in the bone growth, repair, and alteration. In this paper,we summarized clinical manifestations and pathological changes of OA,and reviewed the current situation and development of OPG and IGF-1 in OA bone remodeling.

World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;17(4):841-845
This study was aimed to exploreBi-Min-Gan (BMG) granules induced immune tolerance for allergic rhinitis cases through changes of Treg cells to achieve the goal of treatment. SD rats were used as experimental animal, which were divided into the blank group, model group and BMG granules group. Allergic rhinitis rat model was established. Intragastric administration of BMG granules was given. Levels of CD4+CD25+Foxp3+Treg and IL-4, IL-10, TGF-β1, IL-13 were detected with flow cytometry and ELISA assay. The results of flow cytometry showed that CD4+CD25+Foxp3+Treg decreased after the successful establishment of the model (P<0.05); but it increased after treatment of BMG granules (P<0.05) to reach the level of the normal blank group (P>0.05). ELISA showed the concentrations of IL-10 and TGF-β1 decreased significantly after the successful establishment of the model (P<0.0001); concentrations of IL-4 and IL-13 increased significantly (P<0.0001). While, after treatment of BMG granules, concentrations of IL-10 and TGF-β1 in blood rebound but did not reach the level of the normal blank group;concentrations of IL-4 and IL-13 in the blood decreased but did not reach the level of the normal blank group. It was concluded that BMG granules can upregulate the number of Treg cells in allergic rhinitis rat, increase the secretion of IL-10 and TGF-β1, inhibit Th2 cell activity, and reduce secretion of IL-4 and IL-13, so as to improve symptoms of allergic rhinitis.

International Eye Science 2016;16(6):1187-1189
?AIM:To investigate the correlation between dry eye and different degrees of diabetic retinopathy ( DR ) in type 2 diabetic patients.?METHODS: In the cross-sectional study, 340 patients (340 eyes) with type 2 diabetes were enrolled. Tear film function tests including tear meniscus height, tear film breakup time ( BUT ) , fluorescein staining, Schirmer Ⅰtest were performed followed by surveying questionnaires about dry eye. Retinal status was evaluated by retinal color photography and indirect ophthalmoscopy exam with dilated pupils to evaluate DR and whether companied by macular edema.?RESULTS:The prevalence of dry eye was 49. 41%. The mean duration of diabetes in patients with dry eye was 11.15±7.07a, while 6.92±5.45a without dry eye(P<0.01). Dry eye had the positive correlation to the development of DR. The incidence of dry eye in people with mild nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy ( NPDR ) , moderate NPDR, severe NPDR and proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) was 1. 097 times, 1. 724 times, 2. 86 times and 5. 43 times respectively, compared with people without DR. The occurrence of dry eye in people with macular edema increased by 3. 697 times compared with people without macular edema.?CONCLUSION: Dry eye was more prevalent in people with type 2 diabetes. The incidence of dry eye increased gradually with the occurrence and development of diabetic retinopathy.
