Nuclear factor(NF)-κB is widely expressed in various types of tissue cells. Abnormal activation of NF-κB signaling pathway can lead to the initiation and progression of asthma, chronic ob?structive pulmonary disease(COPD)and other lung inflammatory diseases, but inhibition of its activity can effectively alleviate the occurrence and development of these diseases. In this paper ,we review biological characteristics of NF-κB,role of NF-κB signaling in asthma,COPD and other inflammatory lung diseases, and potential application of NF-κB inhibitors in clinical treatment of these inflammatory lung diseases. It will provide a valuable reference for further study on pathogenesis, prevention, and control of lung inflammatory diseases.

Objective To observe the effects of hydrogen sulfide on hepatic and renal injury induced by thioacetamide (TAA).Methods Twenty-four male SD rats were equally and randomly divided into TAA induced model group ,control group,TAA +sodium hydrogen sulfide group , and TAA +propargylglycine group .TAA was given by intraperitoneal injection to the model group , sodium hydrogen sulfide and propargylglycine groups at the dose of 600 mg/kg on the first day, and at the dose of 300 mg/kg 24 hours later.Hydrogen sulfide sodium at the dose of 0.15 mmol/kg and propargylg-lycine at the dose of 30 mg/kg were injected abdominally 1 h before TAA injection. The dose of these two agents was halved in the next 24 h.All the rats were sacrificed and specimens were collected to test hydrogen sulfide , and hepatic and renal function.Urine after the first 24 hours was collected after the administration of TAA .Results The structure of the liver in TAA group was disordered , especially in sodium hydrogen sulfide group .Liver function of TAA group was severely damaged (ALT:980.0 ±32.0 vs 38.3 ±10.6 U/L),and deteriorated with the application of sodium hydrogen sulfide (ALT:1095.6 ± 684.2 U/L), but recovered (ALT:66.3 ±8.32 U/L) with propargylglycine application.Compared with the normal group, the renal function in TAA group was significantly injured ,but the urea nitrogen and creatinine in sodium hydrosulfide group were reduced more remarkably than in TAA group (BUN:8.4 ±1.9 vs 11.62 ±6.0 mmol/L,Cr:32.6 ±8.2 vs 42.8 ±4.4 μmol/L, P<0.05).Nevertheless, creatinine was increased in propargylglycine group ( Cr 56.7 ±14.9 vs 30.8 ±4.4μmol/L, P<0.05).The urine content within 24 hours was more significantly decreased in TAA group than in the normal group (9.2 ±2.5 vs 20.5 ±6.7 ml, P<0.01), which was mildly recovered in sodium hydrogen sulfide group (11.7 ± 1.5 vs 9.2 ±2.5 , P<0.05) but further decreased (4.2 ±1.3 vs 9.2 ±2.5, P<0.01) in the propargylglycine group . Conclusion Hydrogen sulfide can alleviates renal injury while aggravating liver injury induced by thioacetamide .

Objective To evaluate the feasibility of dual energy spectral CT with 270 mg/ml iodixanol in coronary CT angiography (CCTA).Methods A total of 60 patients with suspected coronary heart disease underwent CCTA.They were randomly divided into 3 groups.Prospectively ECG gated CCTA with 120 kVp were performed on the controlgroup (Group A,n=20).In group B (n=20) and group C (n=20),gemstone spectral imaging(GSI) technique were used and monochromatic images from 60 to 80 keV with increment of 5 keV were obtained to divide into 5 subgroups(B1-B5,C1-C5).Group A and group B used the same contrast medium (iodixanol 350 mg/ml) while Group C used low concentration contrast medium (iodixanol 270 mg/ml).One-way ANOVA analysis was used to compare objective evaluation indices (CT values, image noise,signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) of the left main coronary artery, proximal segment of left anterior descending branch, proximal segment of left circumflex branch and proximal segment of right coronary artery) of group A and B1-B5.Statistical t-test was performed between group A and C2(with optimal keV).Results CNR of the group B1-B5[(21.2± 3.4),(21.5 ±4.0),(21.5 ±4.0),(21.8 ±4.2),(20.7 ± 3.5)]were increased significantly than group A(16.6± 3.8).No significant differences were found among groups B 1-B4 (P>0.05).Compared withgroup A,group B2 showed higher CT values of the vessels [(481.4±43.2),(466.7±69.3),(434.1±48.8),(436.3±42.5),(427.4±48.6)HU] and decreased image noise[(28.2±7.3)HU versus (31.1±9.9) HU,P<0.01].The optimal keV was 65 keV.Compared with group A,group C2 showed no significant differences in CT values[(396.3± 76.3),(390.4 ± 74.4),(359.5±83.1),(358.3±67.7),(365.4±68.2)HU)],image noise[(29.1±5.6)HU],SNR(14.6±4.2) and CNR [(18.4±4.8),t=-1.29-1.40,P> 0.05].Conclusion Dual-energy spectral CT with monochromatic reconstruction at 65 keV can provide same good image quality as the routine method while reduce iodine concentration to 270 mg/ml.

Microarray has become a popular biotechnology in biological and medical research. However, systematic and stochastic variabilities in microarray data are expected and unavoidable, resulting in the problem that the raw measurements have inherent "noise" within microarray experiments. Currently, logarithmic ratios are usually analyzed by various clustering methods directly, which may introduce bias interpretation in identifying groups of genes or samples. In this paper, a statistical method based on mixed model approaches was proposed for microarray data cluster analysis. The underlying rationale of this method is to partition the observed total gene expression level into various variations caused by different factors using an ANOVA model, and to predict the differential effects of G V (gene by variety)interaction using the adjusted unbiased prediction (AUP) method. The predicted G V interaction effects can then be used as the inputs of cluster analysis. We illustrated the application of our method with a gene expression dataset and elucidated the utility of our approach using an external validation.

OBJECTIVETo explore activity laws of mitochondrial complex II in patients of deficiency-cold syndrome (DCS) and deficiency-heat syndrome (DHS) under various ambient temperatures.
METHODSSubjects were recruited by questionnaire and expert diagnosis from grade 1 - 3 undergraduates at Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in November 2012, and assigned to a normal control group, the DCS group, and the DHS group, 20 in each group. Their venous blood samples were collected at two different temperature conditions. Activities of mitochondrial complex II were measured by spectrophotometry.
RESULTS(1) Comparison of mitochondrial complex It under various ambient temperatures: Compared with room temperature in the same group, activity values were all increased in the normal control group at cold temperature with significant difference (P <0.05), but there was no significant difference in the DCS group and the DHS group (P >0. 05). Compared with the normal control group, activity values of complex H were reduced in the DCS group at cold and room temperatures with significant difference (P <0.05). Compared with the DCS group, activity values of complex It were increased in the DHS group with significant difference (P <0. 05). (2) Changes of adjustment rates: Compared with room temperature, the adjustment rate all rose at cold temperature in the normal control group and the DHS group with significant difference (P <0.05), but with no significant difference found in the DCS group (P >0. 05). Compared with the normal control group at the same temperature, the adjustment rate in the DHS group and the DCS group was all reduced at cold and room temperatures with significant difference (P <0. 05). There were no significant difference in the adjustment rate between the DHS group and the DCS group (P > 0. 05).
CONCLUSIONSEnvironment temperature can affect the activity of mitochondrial complex II with different influence degrees on different syndrome types of people, but its change trend are basically identical.
