Three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy(3DCRT) is a new physical method which can enhance the therapeutic gain factor(TGF) of radiotherapy. It can escalate the doses of local tumor and decrease the doses of normal tissue. For patients with primary liver tumors, 3DCRT can increase the local control rates, prolong patients survival and decrease the incidence of radiation-induced complications.

Objective: To study the protective effect of the total flavones in Microcos paniculata (TFMP) on the acute myocardial ischemia (AMI) induced by isoprenaline (ISO) and its mechanism. Methods: The rats were ig administered with TFMP (8, 4, and 2 mg/kg) once daily for consecutive 5 d, and the AMI rat model was established by sc injection with ISO (2 mg/kg) 1 h after the last administration. The effects of TFMP on the electrocardiogram (ECG) at different time points and the myocardial tissue pathological histomorphology dying by hematoxylin were observed; The superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) levels of myocardial tissue, glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and creatine kinase (CK) activities in serum were detected using biochemical method. Results: Compared with the model group, the high- and mid-doses (8 and 4 mg/kg) TFMP inhibited the J spot downward of ECG during myocardial ischemia (P < 0.05), especially after 10 min of ISO injection. The myocardial injury induced by ISO was aslo improved in these two groups, the levels of LDH and CK in serum (P < 0.05) and the content of MDA in myocardial homogenate (P < 0.01) were decreased, the activities of SOD (P < 0.01) and GSH-Px (P < 0.05, 0.001) in the myocardial homogenate were increased. Conclusion: The TFMP has the apparent protective effect on AMI injury, its mechanism may be related with improving the myocardial anti-oxidative ability and decreasing the oxidative stress reaction.

Objective To explore the diagnosis of tuberous sclerosis (TSC) combined with Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) and secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistocytosis (HLH).Methods One case diagnosed of TSC combined wiht LCH and secondary with HLH in infancy was retrospectively analyzed.Results One year and 4-month-old Uyghur boy when he was 4-month-old,there was onset of infantile spasm.Gene detection was performed when he was one year old and showed the absence of the exon 3 to 10 ofTSC2 gene.The diagnosis of TSC was confirmed.Meanwhile,the boy also suffered with skin rash all around,fever,hepatosplenomegaly,and bone defect.The diagnosis of LCH was confirmed by skin biopsy.In addition,the boy was complicated HLH.Conclusions It is rarely seen that TSC combined with LCH,and secondary HLH in one case.The clinical features were complex and need to be differetiate.

Chinese medicines have demonstrated rich cardioprotective activities for clinical applications. Salvia miltiorrhiza, a very important component of traditional Chinese medicine, can promote blood circulation and relieve blood stasis. Salvia miltiorrhiza is widely used in treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease such as coronary heart disease and cerebral infarction ( CI). Tanshinone II(A), the major lipophilic components extracted from the root of S. miltiorrhiza, possesses anti-atherosclerosis, anti-cardiac hypertrophy, anti-oxidant, anti-arrhythmia and so on. This paper discusses current research status of tanshinone II(A) in cardioprotective effects.

Objective To observe the dynamic changes of TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,IL-10,and expressions of Notch-1,NF-κB mRNA and their protein levels in the brain tissue of septic mice and intervention effects of intrathecal injection of lentiviral vector of miR-34a gene for regulating Notch-1/NF-κB signaling pathway.Methods A total of 54 mice of clean grade were divided randomly (random number) into four groups,namely sham group (n =9),in which sham-operated laparotomy was performed;CLP group (n=15),in which the cecum ligation operation (CLP) was performed;NC group (n =15),in which intrathecal injection of lentivirus 5 μL (concentration 5 × 108 TU/mL),one time per day,for 3 days,then CLP was performed on the seventh day;intervention group (n =15),in wihch intrathecal injection of miR-34a lentivirus 5 μL (concentration 5 × 108 TU/mL),one time per day,for 3 days,then CLP was performed on the seventh day.The mice of four groups were sacrificed 24 h after modeling or operation.The changes of behavior of mice was observed and the neurological scores were assessed 24 h after CLP.The levels of TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6 and IL-10 in the brain were measured by ELISA method.The mRNA expression and protein levels of Notch-1 and NF-κB in the brain tissue were measured by real-time PCR and Western blot method,respectively.Pathological changes of brain tissue were observed under light microscope.Results The neurological scores,the cerebral TNF-α,IL-6 levels,the mRNA expression and protein level of NF-κB (P＜0.01),and IL-1β levels (P ＜0.05) in CLP group 24 h after modeling were higher than those in sham group.The cerebral IL-10 level and the mRNA expression and protein level of Notch-1 (P ＜ 0.01) in CLP group 24 h after modeling were lower than those in sham group.The neurological scores,the cerebral TNF-α and IL-1β levels,and the protein level of NF-κB (P ＜0.01),and IL-6 (P ＜ 0.05) in NC group 24 h after modeling were higher than those in sham group.The cerebral IL-10 level,the mRNA expression and protein level of Notch1 in NC group 24 h after modeling were lower than those in sham group.There were no significant difference in neurological socres,IL-1β and IL-6 levels between intervention group and CLP group (P ＞ 0.05).The IL-10 level (P ＜ 0.05) and the mRNA expression (P ＜ 0.05) and protein level (P ＜ 0.01) of Notch-1 in intervention group 24 h after modeling were lower than those in CLP group.There were no significant difference in biomarkers between NC group and CLP group (P ＞ 0.05).The degree of cerebral damage found under light microscope was also ameliorated in intervention group compared with CLP group 24 h after modeling.Conclusions The effects of miR-34a via regulating Notch-1/NF-κB signaling pathway on brain function exerts cerebral protective effects in septic mice.

Objective To evaluate the safety, feasibility and clinical value of real-time navigation system with CT/MR and sonographic images for percutaneous ablation of hepatic malignancies poorly defined on conventional ultrasonography. Methods Fifteen patients with 22 hepatic malignant lesions underwent percutaneous ablation guided by virtual navigation system with ultrasonography. Treatment response was assessed by the contrast CT/MR followed up one month after procedures. Results Complete tumor necrosis was achieved in 20 lesions, but 2 lesions showed residual tumor in the ablation zone. No treatment associated complications were found. Conclusions The application of virtual navigation system is of clinical value in localization of lesions, guidance of biopsy and assessment of the interventional therapy in patient with hepatic malignancies, particularly for those with poorly identified lesions by conventional ultrasonography.

Objective To evaluate the sensitivity of sleep-deprivation electroencephalography(EEG) examination in diagnosis of partial seizures of children.Methods One hundred and six normal children (male 57,female 49, 3-12 years old)and 102 children suspected of epilepsy but with normal in standard EEG examination were selected at random(male 63,female 39,3-12 years old). Sleep-deprivation EEG was performed individually.Periods of sleep-deprivation were 18-20 hours for children below 7 years old and 24 hours for the older ones.Results The EEG showed slowing of background electric activity. In addition, 57 cases showed spindle/sharp-slow wave complex.The rate of EEG abnormality was 55.88%.The rates of EEG abnormality for partial seizures and generalized seizure were 76.32% and 43.8%,respectively(?~2=8.98 P

Objective To compare the sensitivity of sleep-deprivation electroencephalography(EEG)examination on children suffered with nonepileptic seizures in normal and suspected epileptic in children.Methods Thirty -eight children with nonepileptic seizures (male 13,female 25,age 4-12 years, mean 8.1 years) had induced a person to make a confession. One hundred and six normal children (male 57, female 49, age 3-12 years,mean 7.6 years) and 102 children(male 63,female 39,age 3-12 years,mean 7.3 years)suspected of epilepsy clinically but with normal standard EEG examination were selected at random as controls.Sleep-deprivation EEG was performed individually.Results The sleep deprivation EEG showed slow background electric activity in all 3 groups. In addition, the rates of EEG abnorma lity for nonepileptic seizures group were zero,no statistics were computed because F was a constant. We discussed the influence of liquid nitrogen cryopreservation to survive capability of Babesia microti standard strain.The whole blood of mice infected with Babesia microti was put in liquid nitrogen to cryopreservation for 1 month,3 months,6 months,9 months,the whole blood was get out respectively and recovery at room temperature,and infected 3 mice respectively,100 μL/ mouse (the first generation after redissolution,the experiment group).In the same time,3 mice were also infected with Babesia microti as the animal conservation control group.When the infection rate was at a high level,the whole blood of the experiment group mice were injected into 3 normal BALB/c mice (the second generation after redissolution),to observe the changes of the Babesia microti form and proliferation situation,and also to observe the infection rate of the first and the second generation after redissolution in different conserving time.Compared with Babesia microti of animal subcultivation,the form of Babesia microti of liquid nitrogen cryopreservation changed a little.Small trophozoites,annular trophozoites,schizont and immature and mature merozoite and other form can also be seen.Compared with Babesia microti of animal subcultivation,the first time to see the worms and the time attaining to the high infection level were 1 to 2 days later,but for the second generation after redissolution,it is the same.There was no significant difference in different conserving time of 1,3,6,9 months.The influence of liquid nitrogen cryopreservation to survive capability and worm form of Babesia microti is a little,so liquid nitrogen cryopreservation can be a better way to conserving Babesia microti.
