In recent years, microRNAs (miRNAs) have been found to be one of the key factors of post transcriptional gene regulation, which are involved in occurrence and development of many diseases. Peritoneal dialysis (PD) has become an effective alternative treatment approaches for patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD). Peritoneal fibrosis is one of the most important factors leading patients to withdraw from long-term PD, hence restricts the application and development of PD. MicroRNAs are closely related to the development of peritoneal fibrosis. This article reviews the role of miRNAs in the pathogenesis and treatment of peritoneal fibrosis.

Objective In this study, we explored the mechanism of anti-bone resorption of RGD-insulin using osteoclast-like cells (OLCs) from giant cell tumor of bone as an in vitro model. Methods The function of bone resorption was observed and the staining for tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAPase) was identified. The carbonic anhydrase Ⅱ (CAⅡ) gene expression, apoptosis and the adhesion of OLC that treated by RGD-insulin and echistatin were determined by in situ hybridization, TUNEL staining and adhesion test, respectively. Results OLCs were TRAP positive and had bone resorptive function. OBJECTIVE: To study the in vitro anti-tumor activity of tungstophosphate compound(K6[P2W18O62]?14H2O) with Dawson structure.METHODS: MCF-7 cells were treated with different concentration of K6[P2W18O62]?14H2O,then its IC50 was measured by MTT assay;flow cytometry was applied to analyze cell cycle and apoptosis by computing the ratio of MCF-7 cells in different phase and its apoptotic ratio.Cell growth and viability were measured by trypan blue staining and cell counting by computing the ratio of living cells.The synergetic anti-tumor activity of tungstophosphate compound(K6[P2W18O62]?14H2O) and pharmorubicin was studied.RESULTS: K6[P2W18O62]?14H2O inhibited MCF-7 cell proliferation with IC50 of(33.7?3.2) ?mol?L-1,it reduced the proportions of MCF-7 cells at S phase and G1 phase,with the apoptotic rate at 3.7%～29.2% within 48 h.The percentage of living cells was 95.37%～76.78% at 48 h.As compared with pharmorubicin alone,the addition of K6[P2W18O62]?14H2O to pharmorubicin showed a significantly higher inhibitory action on proliferation of MCF-7 cells(P

Objective To investigate the etiological diagnosis and therapy of liver function lesion after kidney transplantation.Methods By analyzing the etiological factor of 82 cases of liver function lesion,we provided a reasonable and operative therapy scheme in kidney post-transplantation.Results Of 82 cases,the number of drug toxicity and viral hepatitis B which result in liver functional lesion were 70 cases(85 5%) and 12 cases(14 5%) respectively.The former were all cured,8 cases in the latter were cured and the other 4 cases were died from acute hepatic failure.Conclusions The liver function lesion of post-transplantation should be diagnosed carefully and treated particularly.Morever,the adjustment of immuno-suppressive drugs and monitoring circlosporin A concentration should be done for the patients with liver function damaged.

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of polyp of vocal cord. Methods The clinical data of 187 cases were retrospectively analyzed. Results According to the 187 cases, 164/187 cases were cured, 21 cases had obvious improvement, 2 cases have no effect, general effective rate is 98.9%. Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of adrenal autotransplantation for the treatment of persistent Cushing's disease after transsphenoidal pituitary tumor resection. Methods Four patients were treated by adrenal autotransplantation with attached blood vessels after bilateral adrenalectomy for persistent Cushing's disease from April 1991 to March 2008 in our institute. The four patients were 3 females and 1 male. Their ages ranged from 14 to 36 years, with an average of 30 years. Right adrenalectomy was performed 1 to 3 months before the left adrenalectomy. 30 % ?50 % of the left hyperplastic adrenal was placed in the left inguinal region with the anastomosis of the inferior epigastric artery and the central adrenal vein, and between the left saphenous vein and the incised adrenal envelope with the adrenal middle artery inside. The hormone replacement dosage decreased gradually after operation. They were followed up for 1.0, 1. 5, 8. 0 and 10. 0 years. The patient's symptoms, adrenal hormone (serum cortisol, urinary free cortisol and adrenocorticotroph) levels and the steroid replacement dosages were recorded and analyzed. Results The symptom of the Cushing's disease disappeared completely after operation and there was no Nelson's syndrome except one patient with slight darken skin. Through 4 ways of imaging examination, operation, clinical presentation and endocrine examination, the 4 transplanted adrenals functioned well with less steroid replacement dosage needed after operation. The 4 transplanted adrenal glands functioned steadily 1 year after the auto-transplantation, and no hyperplasia was detected in the transplanted adrenals with the stimulus of high dosage adrenocorticotroph. Conclusions The long-term effects of adrenal autotransplantation with attached blood vessels after bilateral adrenalectomy is effective and safe. Adrenal autotransplantation can be a feasible option for the treatment of persistent Cushing's disease.

BACKGROUND:Tissue-engineered bone, as an emerging method, is used to repair bone defects, but it is difficult to be used widely because of no nutrient metabolism of implants. Pre-vascularized tissue-engineered bone research is performed for this limitation. Forward-looking and procedural vascular construction prior to artificial grafting is perspective to supply the nutrient metabolism of implants.
OBJECTIVE:To analyze the research results and developmental tendency of pre-vascularized bone engineering in vitro using a multilevel analysis.
METHOD:Literature search was performed in CNKI database for Chinese literatures and PubMed database for English literatures from 2000 to 2012. The key words included“tissue-engineered bone, vascularization, implant, osteoblasts, endothelial cel s, co-culture”in Chinese, and“bone engineering, endothelial cel s, osteoblast, implant, cel s co-culture”in English. A review addressing pre-vascularized tissue-engineered bone was completed based on retrieved literature classified according to bone physiological studies, in vitro experimental research and material research.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Total y 60 articles were included in result analysis. Studied have documented that microvascular regeneration in normal bone tissue has an important role in osteogenesis regulation. Current bone tissue engineering research is to simulate this physiological process of vascular regeneration in the human body, and lots of in vitro studies are designed to complete this angiogenic process in bone tissue engineering. It is confirmed that in vitro pre-vascular work is used for bone tissue engineering, especial y for in vivo survival and ossification of tissue-engineered bone, pointing out the developmental direction for the clinical application of tissue-engineered bone.
