Objective To study the change of the structural and biological properties of the cardiovascular tissue after cell extracting. Methods The native and treated pulmonary cusp and pulmonary artery wall were evaluated by HE stain, ETVG stain, immunochemistry stain and scan electron microscopy. The contents of the main macro-molecules were measured. The content and position of calcium was investigated by subcutaneous implantation in a rat model. Results The acellularization procedure resulted in an almost complete removal of the original cells while the construction of the matrix remained. The contents of colleagen and elastin increased while soluble GAG reduced. The content of calcium in acellular tissue by xenogenic implantation was less obviously than that in fresh one. Conclusion A suitable acellularization procedure can remove all cells and most soluble proteins, and matrix remains nearly intact, so as to alleviate obviously calcification via xenogenic implantation in vivo.

Objective To investigate the changes and significance of serum nitric oxide levels in the early stage after rat liver transplantation. Methods Male Sprague Dawley rats were used as do- nors and recipients of orthotopic liver transplantation, and the time of cold preservation and anhepatic phase was 4 h and 25 min respectively.Forty-eight rats were randomly divided into groups A,B and C (n=16 each). The samples of blood were taken from vena cava and hepatic tissues from left lobe 2 h, 4 h,6 h in groups A,B and C respectively after liver graft reperfusion.ALT and NO levels in serum were detected, and the expression of NF-?B in hepatic tissue was examined by immunohistochemical technique.Amounts of bile flow in 5 min after liver graft reperfused initially were measured. The pathological changes in liver tissues were observed. Results Amounts of bile flow in 5 min in group A (3.73?1.11?l) were greater than those group B (2.35?0.92?l) and group C (2.23?0.81?l) (P

Objective To study the value of ultrasonographic diagnosis of galactostasis in lactation.MethodsPatients in lactation and post-lactation were examined by color Doppler ultrasonography.Combined puncture, operation and pathology, the imaging features of different stage were summarized. Results The type of galactostasis included ductal ectasia, galactocele, infection and consolidation. The ultrasonographic examination with imaging features can determine the diagnosis and judge the type and the course of disease. Conclusions Ultrasonography is a first choice in diagnosing galactostasis in lactation.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Tiao Ren Tong Du (regulating the Conception Vessel and unblocking the Governor Vessel) needling method plus bloodletting at the Jing-well points in treating post-stroke spastic state. Method Sixty-seven eligible patients were randomized into a group to receive Tiao Ren Tong Du needling plus bloodletting at the Jing-well points (treatment group) and a rehabilitation group (control group). For the two groups, the treatment was given once a day, 6 times as a treatment course, for 4 courses in total. The Modified Ashworth Scale was used to evaluate the spasticity intensity, and the Patient Reported Outcome (PRO) for post-stroke spastic hemiplegia was used to measure the patients from the following four aspects:subjective symptoms, objective symptoms, mental state, and social function. Result After intervention, the scores of spasticity, and physiological, mental, social, and environmental factors were significantly improved in both groups (P<0.01,P<0.05). Compared to rehabilitation, Tiao Ren Tong Du needling plus bloodletting at Jing-well points can more significantly release the muscular spasticity and reduce the PRO score (P<0.01). The recovery plus markedly-effective rate was 70.6% in the treatment group versus 42.4% in the control group. Conclusion Tiao Ren Tong Du needling plus bloodletting at Jing-well points can effectively improve post-stroke spastic state and the quality of life.

OBJECTIVE To study the HBV-DNA level and its replication with only HBsAb positive for transplantation. METHODS Serial serum samples were studied with the quantitative determination of HBV-DNA by a quantitative PCR assay and determination of HBsAb by ELISA. RESULTS The positive rate of HBV-DNA was 8.4% in the patients with only HBsAb positive and that was 11.11% in the patients who had not been injected with vaccine;the level of HBV-DNA in 11 samples was less than 10~4 copies/ml and five samples showed the amount between 10~4-10~6 copies/ml.The positive rate of HBV-DNA was 8.4% in the patients with only HBsAb positive and that was 11.11% in the patients who had not been injected with vaccine;the level of HBV-DNA in 11 samples was less than 10~4 copies/ml and five samples showed the level between 10~4-10~6 copies/ml. CONCLUSIONS Patients with only HBsAb positive are still infective, which should be paid attention in transplantation.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the early clinical and radiographic outcome of scaphoid non-unions treated with Acutrak headless compression screw.
METHODSFrom January 2008 to July 2011,21 patients with scaphoid non-union were treated in our department. There were 18 males and 3 females with a mean age of (23.6 +/- 4.6) years; 12 cases were on right hand and 9 were on left. According to Herbert-Fisher classification, there were 10 cases with type D1, 7 cases with type D2, 3 cases with type D3, and 1 case with type D4. The mean time from injury to operation was (12.4 +/- 2.7) months. All patients were treated with Acutrak headless compression screw fixation (6 cases received 2 screws fixation, 15 cases received 1 screw fixation, and Matti-Russe bone grafting was applied in 7 cases). The carpal height, the scaphoid index and changes of the scapholunate angle were assessed before and after the operation. Range of motion and grip strength were recorded and the wrist function was assessed according to the Patient-Rated Wrist Evaluation (PRWE).
RESULTSAverage duration of follow-up was (21.3 +/- 3.6) months. All the patients attained radiological union in a mean time of (13.3 +/- 2.4) weeks following the operation. No obvious complications were recorded. The surgical treatment allowed the preoperative mean scaphoid index of 0.61 +/- 0.13 and the preoperative mean scapholunate angle of (59.4 +/- 6.8) degree to be improved to 0.69 +/- 0.10 and (44.3 +/- 8.2)degree postoperatively, respectively. There was a substantial improvement in grip strength and pain amelioration after surgery. The preoperative mean PRWE score of 45.2 +/- 4.7 was improved to 76.1 +/- 5.2 postoperatively. All patients returned back to the original work, the average time from surgery to work was (6.0 +/- 1.1) months.
CONCLUSIONFor scaphoid non-unions, Acutrak headless compression screw fixation can provide anatomical reduction, provide satisfactory results with a high union rate, well return of function and minimal complications in the early stage.

Objective: To evaluate the intestinal trophic effects and adverse reactions of nasojejunal and jejunostomy tube im-plants on patients with total gastrectomy. Methods:A total of 86 patients with advanced gastric cancer were randomly and equally di-vided into two groups. Groups A and B received enteral nutrition therapies through nasojejunal and jejunostomy feeding tube implants, respectively. The therapeutic efficacy of the two methods of enteral nutrition therapy and the corresponding adverse reactions observed in the two groups were compared. Results:Group B patients demonstrated shorter anal evacuation and defecation times than group A patients, the difference is statistically significant (P<0.05). Moreover, the bodyweight, total protein, and albumin levels of the patients significantly decreased in both groups after enteral nutrition therapy was administered (P<0.05). Postoperative nutritive indexes were higher in group B than in group A;however, no significant difference was obtained between the two groups (P>0.05). Nonetheless, the patients in group B tolerated the treatment well compared with those in group A (P<0.05). The complication rates of groups A and B were 18.6%and 23.3%, respectively, but this difference was not significant (P>0.05). Conclusion:Patients subjected to total gastrecto-my showed higher tolerance to jejunal tube implants for enteral nutrition than to nasojejunal tube implants, indicating that jejunal tube implants can be used to improve the nutritional status of patients.
