ObjectiveTo observed the clinical result of 3 kinds of commonly used depressor in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and attend to the main point in nursing.MethodsNitroglycerin, sodium nitroprosside and urapidil hiydrochloride were used among 60 patients with perioperative hypertension in ICU respectively.ResultsSodium nitroprosside showed obviously depressed result, but needs to be observed tightly. Nitroglycerin and urapidil hiydrochloride depressed the blood pressure gentlely, and were suitable to old people particularly.ConclusionThe nurse can carry on corresponding clinical observation and nursing according to the pharmacology function of 3 kinds of medicines.

OBJECTIVETo explore a simple but novel method of strengthening gypsum material by cyanoacrylate infiltration. To evaluate the influence of cyanoacrylate on the mechanical properties of dental gypsum models.

METHODSGypsum specimens were polished to the dimension of 35 mmx4 mmx4 mm. Butyl-cyanoacrylate was diluted with chloroform at different concentrations, namely 20% and 30% cyanoacrylate. Gypsum specimens were infiltrated by diluting one component of cyanoacrylate at different concentrations for 8 h and then dried for analysis. The changes in elastic modulus, fracture toughness, compressive strength, biaxial strength, brinell hardness were measured. The data were analyzed using software OriginPro 8.

RESULTSThe viscosity measurements indicated that diluted cyanoacrylate were Newtonian fluids and the viscosity increased slightly within the 48 hours of preparation but still similar as water at room temperature, which could be used to infiltrating gypsum. The gypsum infiltrated with cyanoacrylate exhibited good physicochemical properties. The biaxial strength, fracture toughness, compressive strength and brinell hardness of the gypsum were improved by 39%, 30%, 63% and 18%, respectively.

CONCLUSIONCyanoacrylate can significantly improve the strength of gypsum model which indicates the potential clinical application.

In this study, we use pot experiment to evaluate the effect of plant growth regulator on plant morphology and biomass allocation of Salvia miltiorrhiza. Different concentrations of uniconazole were supplied to S. miltioohiza by means of foliar spray. Height, breadth and stem diameter were measured dynamically, the biomass of leaf, stem, flower and fruit, root biomass and biomass ratio were also examined at the harvest time. Owing to the treatment, plant morphology showed significant changes, the height had been greatly reduced and the breadth decreased largely. Meanwhile, the biomass allocation changed too. The biomass ratio of leaf and stem had been notably reduced while the biomass ratio of root had been increased remarkably. It appears that foliar application of uniconazole during vigorous growth period in S. miltioohiza has dramatic effect on dwarfing plant and improving resistant to lodging. This measure could also be applied to condensed cultivation of S. miltioohiza to increase production.

Rhubarb is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), wildly used in treating the disease of hyperlipidemia. However, its components are complicated, so that it is still difficult to clear the specific roles of its various components in blood lipids regulation in. So we decide to systematically study the anti- hyperlipidemia mechanism of rhubarb. We integrated multiple databases, based on entity grammar systems model, constructed molecular interaction network between the chemical constituents of rhubarb and hyperlipidemia. The network includes 231 nodes and 638 edges. Thus we infer the interactions of active targets and disease targets to clarify the anti-hyperlipidemia mechanism. And find that rhubarb can promote excretion of cholesterol; inhibit clotting factors and improve blood circulation; inhibit the release of inflammatory cytokines and maintain fat metabolism balance; inhibit cholesterol and triglyceride synthesis; and other ways to achieve lipid-lowering effect. Thus this study provides reference for novel drug development and component compatibility, and also gives a new way for the systematically study of acting mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of a combination of proton pump inhibitor(PPI) and hydrotalcite for endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) induced ulcer.Methods Eightyone consecutive patients who underwent ESD were randomly assigned to either the group of PPI and hydrotalcite therapy ( drug combination group,n =41 ) or the PPI group ( n =40).Delayed bleeding rates were monitored and compared.The main upper abdomen symptoms 1-wk later and ulcer healing rates and ulcer diameter 4-wk later were compared between the two groups.Results There was no significant difference in delayed bleeding rate (P ＞ 0.05 ).At the end of first week after ESD,the combination therapy was significantly more effective than the PPI alone in reducing frequencies and severity of upper abdominal pain and upper abdominal distention,while there was no significant difference between the two groups in relieving belch and nausea.A better ulcer healing rates and a smaller ulcer diameter were observed in the combination group at the end of 4 weeks ( P ＜ 0.05 ).Conclusion The combination therapy of hydrotalcite and PPI can relieve upper abdominal symptoms and improve the healing rate of ESD induced ulcer.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of 64 multidetector-row CT angiography for internal carotid artery(ICA)stenosis and the application in the follow-up of carotid endarterectomy and percutaneous transluminal stenting.Methods Forty transient ischemie attack(TIA)patients with interpretable CTA and DSA of the cervical carotid arteries were selected from May 2005 to December 2005. This yielded a total of 80 vessels.The CTA curved planar reformations(CPR)and DSA images referenced to the distal cervical internal carotid were graded by two senior neuroradiologists blindly,according to the North American Symptomatic Carotid Endarterectomy Trial(NASCET)guidelines.The paired-t test was used to verify the statistical significant difference between pre-operating and post-operating of carotid endarterectomy or percutaneous transluminal stenting in measuring the vascular diameter and area of cross section using CTA.Results When the 70% stenosis was used as the cut-off value,the seasitivity,specificity,negative predictive value,and the positive predicting value were 97%,95%,95%,and 98%,respectively.There was statistically significant difference in measuring the vascular diameter(P

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of acupuncture in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN).

METHODSSixty patients with DPN were randomly assigned to the acupuncture treated group and the control group, 30 in each group. Besides basic treatment, patients were treated additionally with acupuncture and orally administration of Methycbal (Mecolbalamin) for 8 weeks respectively. Changes of symptoms, blood glucose, HbA1c, whole blood and plasma viscosity, the nerve conduction velocity (NCV) of sensory and motor nerves before and after treatment were observed.

RESULTSAcupuncture can ameliorate symptoms and signs of the nervous system, decrease whole blood and plasma viscosity, and improve the NCV of sensory and motor nerves in patients with DPN.

CONCLUSIONThe effect of acupuncture in treating DPN is definite.

A reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography method for the simultaneous analysis of 23 kinds of phenolic components in water extract of porpolis (WEP) was developed. The separation was performed on ZORBAX Eclipse XDB C_(18) column (150 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) by gradient elution. The mobile phase consisted of ethanol with 0.1% formic acid at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The detection wavelengths were 256 and 280 nm. The injection volume was 20 μL, and the column temperature was maintained at 35 ℃. The method showed good linear relationship, precision and repeatability. The recoveries were between 93.3% and 106.6%. Eighteen Reference compounds were detected in WEP of Hehei by this method. The content of Catechin was the highest(30.50 mg/g), the next was 3,4-dimethoxycinnamic acid (15.41 mg/g). Nine Reference compounds were detected in WEP of Yunnan. The content of catechin was also the highest (11.23 mg/g), the next was chrysin (15.41 mg/g). Similarity of WEPs between the products of Hebei and Yunnan were 0.099 (256 nm) and 0.194 (280 nm). The chemical compositions of two WEPs were remarkably different.

Objective To sutdy the anti-inflammatory action and pharmacodynamics of Liushen Cataplasm (LC). Methods The anti-inflammatory action of LC was observed on mice models of xylene-induced ear swelling and on the rat models of carrageenan-induced pedal swelling. With the decrease of pedal swelling as the parameter,the pharmacodynamics of LC was studied. The apparent parameters of pharmacodynamics were estimated based on the time-effect curve. Results LC showed a potent anti-inflammatory effect. The effect-time curve can be described by the one-compartment model. The main pharmacodynamic parameters were as follows:t1/2(Ka)=2.11727h,t1/2(Ke)=3.13464h,AUC=3.33131 mg?kg?h-1,respectively. Conclusion Liushen Cataplasm shows a potent anti-inflammatory effect. The effect-time curve can be described by the one-compartment model.

Organ system based integrated teaching model has been adopted in several medical schools, and these schools face some challenges in this teaching process. In order to provide new sights for organ system based integrated teaching reform in eight-year medical education program, ex-ploration of setting up three-staged-dimensional integrated teaching models was conducted in urinary system by hematuria, and designing related teaching objectives, teaching programs and assessment form to optimize teaching quality in this teaching methods, according to characteristics of the urinary systemic diseases, cultivating objectives of eight-year medical education program and teaching experi-ence of Xiangya School of Medicine.
