Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2016;35(3):282-283
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in treating anxiety and depression due to vertebrobasilar insufficient vertigo (VBIV).Method Eighty-two patients with anxiety and depression due to VBIV were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 41 cases in each group. The control group was intervened by conventional medication, while the treatment group was by acupuncture in addition to the treatments given to the control group. The Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), and Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale (TESS) were evaluated before and after intervention.Result The HAMA, HAMD, SAS, and SDS scores were significantly changed after intervention in both groups (P<0.05). After treatment, the HAMA score in the treatment group was significantly different from that in the control group (P<0.05). The TESS scores were significantly changed after treatment in both groups (P<0.01). After intervention, the TESS score in the treatment group was significantly different from that in the control group (P<0.01).Conclusion Acupuncture is an effective approach in treating anxiety and depression due to VBIV, and it can reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions.
5.Quantitative evaluation of the hydroxyl radical level after global brain ischemia by intracranial microdialysis under stereotaxis
Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2016;25(7):887-891
Objective To compare the strength of oxidative stress from different concentrations of oxygen administered by the accumulation of hydroxyl radicals during early reperfusion after global brain ischemia. Methods Sixteen adult male Mongolian gerbils with microdialysis probes implanted in the hippocampal CA1 were divided randomly (random number)into two groups (n =8 in each). All gerbils of both groups were subjected to 10 min bilateral carotid artery occlusion (BCAO).Then the following intervention:(a) immediate 30% O2 (near normoxia,NO group ) and (b ) immediate 100% O2 (hyperoxia,HO group). The accumulation of hydroxyl radicals (·OH)in hippocampus during reperfusion was estimated by measuring 2,3-dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHBA ) and 2,5-DHBA in microdialysis perfusate. Results Immediately after the onset of reperfusion, two groups showed markedly elevated DHBA,which returned to baseline gradually.Compared with the NO group, the HO group showed significantly higher peak DHBA and slower recovery. Conclusions Hydroxyl radical accumulation was more sensitive to inhalation of high concentration O2 during early reperfusion of global cerebral ischemia.
6.Advance in diagnosis and therapy of Alport syndrome
International Journal of Pediatrics 2011;38(4):419-420,封3
Alport syndrome (AS) is a hereditary glomerular basement membrane disease characterized by hematuria, progressive renal hypofunction, usually with nervous deafness and ocular lesions, and its pathogenesis is the mutation in genes encoding the type Ⅳ collagen. Diagnosis of AS should combine with clinical manifestations, renal pathologic changes, immunofluorescence examination and gene diagnosis. At present, AS hasn t had any cure measure yet. As the pathogenesis of AS is much clearer in recent years, the researches of gene diagnosis and gene therapy have got some gratifying achievements.
7.Therapeutic Observation of Acupuncture plus Chinese Herbs for Sensorineural Hearing Loss
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2017;36(1):74-76
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus Chinese herbs in treating sensorineural hearing loss.Method Eighty patients with sensorineural hearing loss were randomized into a treatment group and a control group, 40 cases in each group. The control group was intervened by conventional medication, while the treatment group by acupuncture in addition to the intervention given to the control group. The two groups were intervened once a day, 30 days as a treatment course. The serum interleukin (IL)-2, IL-6, soluble interleukin-2 receptor (sIL-2R) levels and pure tone hearing threshold value were observed before and after consecutive 2 treatment courses, and the clinical efficacies in the two groups were compared.Result The serum levels of IL-2, IL-6 and sIL-2R and pure tone hearing threshold value were significantly changed after the treatment in the two groups (P<0.05). There were significant differences in the serum IL-2, IL-6, sIL-2R levels and pure tone hearing threshold value between the two groups after the treatment (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 94.6% in the treatment group versus 84.2% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture plus Chinese herbs is an effective approach in treating sensorineural hearing loss.
