Microvessel density (MVD) is the gold standard to evaluate tumor angiogenesis. Contrastenhanced sonography has been developing fast in recent years. By measuring perfusion parameters, it can represent the degree of new angiogenesis of gynecologic malignant tumors indirectly, and evaluate the biobehavior and prognosis of tumor. The advances of correlations between contrast-enhanced sonographic appearance and MVD of gynecologic malignant tumors were reviewed.

Objective:To investigate the effects of propofol on pyramidal neuron apoptosis in hippocampus of neonatal rats. Methods: Forty-twoseven-day-old male and female Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups(n=14):group A received intraperitoneal 0.9% normal saline(7.5 ml/kg)once per day for seven days as control;group B received 0.9% normal saline(7.5 ml/kg)once per day for six days and propofol(75mg/kg)on the seventh day;group C received propofol(75 mg/kg)once per day for seven days. Two animals of each group were tested for blood glucose with tails cut off 3 hours after the last intraperitoneal injection,and six animals of each group were decapitated 5 hours after the last intraperitoneal injection for determination of caspase-3 expression with immuno-histochemistry. The other six animals of each group were decapitated after 3 weeks for microscopic examination. Results:Compared with group A,caspase-3 expression significantly increased while the number of pyramidal neurons decreased to different degree in both group B and C. More evident changes of the above were discovered in group C than that in group B,and the morphous of pyramidal neurons altered were only found in group C. Conclusion:The fact that increased caspase-3 expression leads to pyramidal neurons deletion to different degree was found in the rats which had received propofol.But the morphous ofpyramidal neurons altered onlywhen propofol had been repeatedlyinjected.

Objective: To establish an HPLC method for the determination of gastrodin, prim-O-glucosylcimifugin, 5-O-methylvisammioside, imperatorin and isoimperatorin in Yuzhen powder.Methods: A Phenomenex Gemini C18 column(250 mm×4.6 mm, 5μm) was used and the column temperature was 25℃.The flow rate was 1.0 ml·min-1 and the mobile phase consisted of methanol-water with gradient elution.The detection wavelength was 230 nm and the sample size was 5 μl.Results: The linear range of gastrodin was 2.68-214.0 μg·ml-1(r=0.999 9), and the average recovery was 100.2%(RSD=0.9%, n=6);the linear range of prim-O-glucosylcimifugin was 5.22-418.0 μg·ml-1(r=0.999 7), and the average recovery was 99.9%(RSD=0.9%, n=6);the linear range of 5-O-methylvisammioside was 4.57-365.8 μg·ml-1(r=0.999 5), and the average recovery was 99.7%(RSD=1.0%, n=6);the linear range of imperatorin was 5.22-417.2 μg·ml-1(r=0.999 6), and the average recovery was 99.0%(RSD=0.9%, n=6);the linear range of isoimperatorin was 5.29-423.2 μg·ml-1(r=0.999 8), and the average recovery was 100.2%(RSD=0.8%, n=6).Conclusion: The method is simple and accurate, and the contents of the five ingredients can be determined simultaneously.The method can be used for the quality control of Yuzhen powder.

This paper describes the development and challenge of HIV/AIDS testing laboratory network and quality assurance system in China. At present, the HIV/AIDS testing laboratories includes three classes, the National AIDS Reference Laboratory, HIV/AIDS confirmatory laboratories and HIV/AIDS screening laboratories. All of them are accredited by the health authorities, and each class of laboratories take charge of their function strictly according to the "National Management of HIV/AIDS Detection (2006)". A complete quality assurance and quality control system for HIV/AIDS testing has been developed, which includes technical training, strict laboratory monitoring and approval,examination or proficiency testing on HIV/AIDS detection, and quality evaluation and supervision of HIV/AIDS diagnostic kits. Besides conduct the routine anti-HIV antibody test, more and more laboratories began to conduct other tests, such as CD4+ T lymphocyte cell counting, HIV viral load, HIV DNA PCR, genotyping, drug resistance, and HIV-1 recent infection test. The primary challenges faced by the HIV/AIDS testing laboratory network are in the areas of laboratory management and quality control. For example, the provincial PT program is inefficient, the internal quality control is conducted perfunctorily, personnel training can not met the needs of the workplace, which need to be improved.

A clinically isolated syndrome(CIS) is a term that describes a first clinical episode in which a patient has symptoms and signs suggestive of an inflammatory demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system.And it often affects optic nerves,the brainstem,or the spinal cord,and 30％-70％ of the CIS patients may develop multiple sclerosis(MS).Disease-modifying treatments may delay the development from CIS to MS.Their use in CIS is limited because of uncertain long-term clinical prognosis,treatment benefits and adverse effects.This article reviews the advances of predictive markers of conversion to MS after a CIS,in order to provide the reference for clinical treatment.

OBJECTIVE: We detected expression of MMP9 to discuss its role in the occurrence and development of sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma. METHOD: The immunohistochemical staining, real-time PCR and Western blot were used to measure the expression of MMP9 in sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma tissues (Experimental group) and corresponding normal mucosa tissues (Control group). Relationship between MMP9 and the main clinical features of patients with sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma was analysed. RESULT: Positive expression rates of MMP9 in sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma tissues and corresponding normal mucosa tissues were 81. 25% and 18. 52% respectively. Positive expression rate of MMP9 was not significantly correlated with patient's age and gender (P>0. 05), but correlated with pathological type (P<0. 05). The expression of MMP9 mRNA in sinonasal squamous carcinoma tissues was 30. 66 times of tissues adjacent to carcinoma (P<0. 05). Western blot analysis also showed that the expression of MMP9 protein in squamous carcinoma tissues was significantly higher than tissues adjacent to carcinoma (P<. 05). CONCLUSION The expression of MMP9 was significantly higher in the sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma and correlated with the degree of differentiation. The results suggest that MMP9 may play a role in the occurrence and development of sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma and degree of malignancy from the protein and cellular and molecular level. The gastric mucosa of 200 cases of children patientswere divided gastroscopically into 4 types,and clinical-ly into 5 types.The two groups shared some commonpoints although there were some differences.It is ofvital importance to combine the whole with the partsfor differential for upgrading the clinical therapeutic ef-ficacy.

Objective To investigate the effect of electromyographic biofeedback therapy on upper extremity function in children with cerebral palsy(CP).Methods 20 CP children were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group with 10 cases in each group.All children of two groups were treated with Bobath therapy and regularly training of activities of daily living(ADL),physical therapy and occupational therapy,while those of the treatment group were given electromyographic biofeedback therapy with EMG-electrical stimulation.The active range of motion(AROM)of wrist dorsiflexion was evaluated and upper extremity function was assessed by Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA).Results The upper extremity function of all children in two groups improved and the effect of the children of the treatment group were superior to those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The electromyographic biofeedback therapy with EMG-electrical stimulation can improve the upper extremity function of CP children.

Objective To observe the application effect of the eucalyptol-limonene-pinene enteric soft capsule in chronic sinusitis during perioperative period.Methods Analyzed 576 cases of nasal endoscopic surgery for chronic sinusitis patients.According to diagnostic criteria (Haikou in 1997),patients with type Ⅰ (without nasal polyps) had 318 cases (group A),patients with type Ⅱ and Ⅲ (with nasal polyps) had 258 cases (group B).Then patients in each group were respectively numbered by hospitalized order.According to the single and double number,they were divided into two groups:treatment group A (159cases) and control group A (159 cases),treatment group B (129 cases) and control group B (129 cases).Patients in the treatment group A and B were treated with the eucalyptol-limonene-pinene enteric soft capsule before operation.Patients in the control group A and B were not taking any mucus cilium scavenger before operation.The follow-up was lasted for 1 year for four groups.Subjective symptoms were assessed by visual analog scale (VAS) score.The changes and outcomes of nasal mucosa were evaluated objectively by LundKennedy endoscopic mucosal morphology score.Then the results were analyzed statistically.Results VAS score:compared treatment group A with control group A,score differences were statistically significant in 4,12 and 24 weeks after operation [(9.56 ± 5.23) scores vs.(16.21 ± 5.78) scores,(6.24 ± 4.05) scores vs.(10.36 ±4.77) scores,(5.08 ± 3.35) scores vs.(6.23 ±4.10) scores](P＜ 0.05),but it was no significant difference in 48 weeks after operation (P ＞ 0.05) ; compared treatment group B with control group B,score differences were statistically significant in 4,12 and 24 weeks after operation [(13.34 ± 6.28) scores vs.(17.62 ±5.98) scores,(8.08 ±5.56) scores vs.(12.59 ±5.70) scores,(6.12 ±4.80) scores vs.(8.79 ± 5.04) scores](P＜ 0.05),but it was no significant difference in 48 weeks after operation (P＞ 0.05).LundKennedy endoscopic mucosal morphology score:the differences between treatment group A and control group A in 4 and 12 weeks after operation were statistically significant [(3.44 ± 1.96) scores vs.(5.82 ± 1.74)scores,(3.03 ± 1.87) scores vs.(5.08 ± 1.96) scores] (P ＜ 0.05),but no statistical significance in 24 and 48 weeks after operation (P ＞ 0.05) ; compared treatment group B with control group B,the scores in 4,12 and 24 weeks after operation were significantly different[(6.15 ± 1.99) scores vs.(7.52 ± 2.04) scores,(4.80 ± 2.12) scores vs.(6.92 ± 1.57) scores,(2.53 ± 2.32) scores vs.(4.12 ± 1.72) scores] (P ＜ 0.05),but no obvious difference in 48 weeks after operation (P ＞ 0.05).The cure rate of treatment group A was 98.11％ (156/159),control group A was 87.42％ (139/159),treatment group B was 94.57％ (122/129) and control group B was 79.84％ (103/129),there was significant difference on cure rate between treatment group and control group (P＜ 0.05).The mucosal healing's time in treatment group A and B were significantly shorter than those in control group A and B [(9.62 ± 1.12) weeks vs.(12.35 ± 2.46) weeks,(13.37 ± 1.84) weeks vs.(17.28 ± 3.83) weeks] (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions These indicated that the dry scab in surgical cavity of patients with mucus cilium scavenger was less and easy to clean,and postoperative recovery time of patients was short.So the mucus cilium scavenger can obviously improve the secretion of mucosa and epithelial recovery,thus accelerate healing of the disease.It can also improve the success rate of functional endoscope sinus surgery,and may play a promising role in clinical application.

Magnesium and its alloys possess the features of low density,high strength and rigidity,good biocompatibility and biodegradability.Their elastic modulus is similar to human bone,which endows them with a broad application prospect in the field of orthopedic biomedical materials.This paper reviews the current research status of magnesium and its alloys as the orthopedic implant materials and as porous scaffold materials in bone tissue engineering.Methods to improve corrosion resistance of magnesium-based metals ale briefly described as well.
