Objective To explore the effect of high dose external beam radiation on the ePTFE prosthesis-arterial anastomosis. Methods The infrarenal abdominal aorta was replaced by ePTFE prosthesis graft in 20 dogs, and all the animals were randomly divided into 2 groups, including of irradiated groups and the control groups, which were or were not associated post-operative external radiation(35 Gy) to the anastomosis. All the animals were sacrificed at 4 weeks and 8 weeks after operation for histological and immunohistochemical examination of the prosthesis-arterial anastomosis. Results There was marked histological changes caused by 35 Gy external irradiation at the prosthesis-arterial anastomosis, but no disunion, rupture,or aneurysm was found at the anastomosis.Radiation did not increase the rate of thrombosis at the prosthesis. The result of immunohistochemical examination showed that two side of the anstomosis were CD34 positive. Conclusions High dose of external beam(35 Gy) can cause marked histological changes at the prosthesis-arterial anastomosis, however,it will not exert negative effect on anastomosis in the short term.

Objective To explore the characteristics and treatment of pain after inflammatory spinal demyelination. Methods 271 patientssuffered from inflammatory spinal demyelination with pain were analyzed retrospectively. Results Acute radicular pain and Lhermitte'ssign were common in the acute pain syndromes. Individual therapy showed a benefit of decreased pain. Conclusion Pain is a commonclinical symptom of inflammatory spinal demyelination. Individualized therapeutic decisions could relieve symptom and improve outcome.

OBJECTIVETo study the relationship between the outcome of coronary angiography (CAG) and the severity of Xiongbi syndrome diagnosed according to "Guiding principle for clinical study on new traditional Chinese medicine in treating Xiongbi (angina pectoris)" (abbreviated as the principle).
METHODSSeverity of Xiongbi syndrome in 207 patients were graded according to the principle and they were examined with CAG by Judkins methods. The relationship between the outcome of CAG and severity of Xiongbi syndrome was analyzed.
RESULTSAbnormal rate of ECG was markedly higher in patients with lesion involving 1 or 2 branches of coronary artery than that in patients without coronary artery lesion (P < 0.05), while no significant difference was found in that between patients with multiple-branches lesions and those without lesion. Comparison of Xiongbi syndrome severity showed that there was remarkable difference between patients with normal coronary artery and those with lesions involving different branches (P < 0.01), but no difference among patients with 1 or 2 branches and those with multiple-branches lesions; on the contrary, mild Xiongbi syndrome took up the highest rate (37%) in patients with multiple-branches lesions, and the rate was lower along with higher severity.
CONCLUSIONThere was no positive relationship between severity of Xiongbi syndrome and that of coronary artery disease.

Objective Toinvestigatetheimpactofthedifferentrupturepoints(sac, neck, andtop) of intraoperative aneurysm rupture (IAR)on the prognosis of patients in anterior circulation aneurysm clipping. Methods Theclinicaldataof135consecutivepatients(148aneurysms)acceptedmicrosurgical aneurysm clipping from May 2009 to March 2012 were analyzed retrospectively. The prognostic evaluation of the patients after procedure was assessed by using the Glasgow outcome scale (GOS). The different aneurysm rupture points of IAR were used as influencing factors, and the relationship between the different rupture pointsandtheprognosisofpatientswasanalyzed. Results Duringclippingof148aneurysmsin 135 patients,31 aneurysms in 30 patients had intraoperative rupture (20. 9% of the aneurysms, 22.2% of the patients). Nine rupture points occurred on the top of aneurysms,17 occurred on the sac,and 5 occurred on neck. The Glasgow outcome scale (GOS)scores 5,4,3,2 and 1 were in 17,8,2,1 and 2 patients, respectively. A total of 25 patients had good prognosis and 5 cases had poor prognosis. There were no significant differences in the impact of different rupture points of IAR on the prognosis in patients of IAR (OR,100. 00,95% confidence interval 6. 764-18. 344,P=0. 006). Of the 25 patients with aneurysm sac or top rupture,1 case had poor prognosis. Of the 5 patients with aneurysm neck rupture, 4caseshadpoorprognosis.Conclusion Inanteriorcirculationaneurysmclipping, thedifferent aneurysm rupture points may have significant impact on the prognosis of patients, the aneurysm neck rupture is a main factor for resulting in the poor prognosis of patients.
