Objective To investigate the efffect of carboxy-methyl-chitosan (CM-chitosan) on NF-kB activation and iNOS expression in IL-1β-induced rat chondrocytes, and the mechanism is explored. The statistical treatment was ANOVA. Methods The chondrocytes derived from knee joint of rats were cultured in vitro. 10 ng/ml IL-1β with or without CM-chitosan of varied concentrations (100, 200, 300 μg/ml) was added into the culture medium. Inducible NO synthase (iNOS) was examined by semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blotting. The expression of NF-κBn and NFκBc as well as I-κB were examined by Western blotting. Results CM-chitosan could significantly decrease iNOS expression of IL-1β-induced chondrocytes. Degradation of I-κB and NF-κB nuclear translocation were reversed by carbox-ymethyl-chitosan. Conclusion The study has demonstrated that CM-chitosan can inhibit the synthesis of inflammatory mediators in rat chondrocytes when stimulated with IL-1β through a NF-κB-dependent mechanism.

Objective:To explore the correlation between enhanced CT quantitative parameters and malignant biological behavior and prognosis of colon cancer. Methods:From February 2017 to October 2019, 100 patients with colon cancer in Anhui Wanbei Coal-Electrivity Group Gernal Hospital were selected as the research subjects, and all performed enhanced CT examination. The serum tumor markers carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) levels were detected. According the mean value of CEA, CA19-9, the patients were divided into different group, and CEA< 28.36 pmol/L was considered to below level, ≥ 28.36 pmol/L was high; CA19-9<40.26 pmol/L was considered to below level, ≥ 40.26 pmol/L was high. The quantitative parameters of enhanced CT in patients with colon cancer with different serum CEA and CA19-9 levels and different pathological indicators (CT scan value, enhanced value, degree of enhancement) were compared. The correlation between serum tumor marker levels, malignant biological behavior of colon cancer and quantitative parameters of enhanced CT were explored. After 12-months′ followed-up, the clinical data of patients with different prognosis and enhanced CT parameters were counted. The factors affecting the prognosis of colon cancer patients and the predictive value of enhanced CT quantitative parameters on the prognosis of patients were explored. Results:The CT scan value, enhancement value and enhancement degree of colon cancer patients with low levels of serum CEA and CA19-9 were lower than those with high levels: (30.16 ± 5.14) HU vs. (38.51 ± 5.72) HU, (55.74 ± 8.12)HU vs. (78.62 ± 8.97) HU, (25.58 ± 3.60) HU vs. (40.11 ± 3.14) HU, the differences were statistically significant ( P<0.05). There was a positive correlation between serum CEA and CA19-9 levels in patients with colon cancer and CT scan value, enhancement value, and degree of enhancement ( P<0.05). The CT enhancement value and enhancement degree of colon cancer patients were related to Dukes staging, differentiation degree, lymph node metastasis and lymphatic infiltration in colon cancer patients. The CT scan value was related to Dukes staging, lymph node metastasis and lymphatic infiltration of colon cancer patients ( P<0.05). The risk factors for death of colon cancer patients included age, Dukes staging, degree of differentiation, lymph node metastasis, lymphatic invasion, CT scan value, enhancement value, and degree of enhancement ( P<0.05). The area under the curve (AUC) of CT scan value, enhancement value, and enhancement degree combined to predict the prognosis of colon cancer patients was 0.873, which was greater than the single prediction of each parameter. The best sensitivity and specificity of combined prediction were 76.92% and 88.37%, respectively. Conclusions:There is a certain correlation between the enhanced CT quantitative parameters and the malignant biological behavior of patients with colon cancer. The increased detection value is risk factor for the prognosis.

Objective To compare the normal anatomy of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of fresh frozen cadaveric knee specimen in oblique coronal thin-slice section with oblique coronal magnetic resonance imaging. Methods One fresh cadaveric knee specimen was scanned with MR T1-weighted spinecho sequence.then the specimen was frozen and sliced with a band saw along the oblique coronal plane into 1.0-mm-thick sections that corresponded to the MR images,MR images including oblique coronal T1-weighted and T2-weighted images of 50 normal the knee joints were retrospectively reviewed to observe the MR imaging features of the cruciate ligament. Results Anteromedial and posterolateral bundles of ACL were clearly depicted on both anatomic slices and MR images. The anteromedial bundles originated from the posteromedial aspect of the lateral femoral condyle, coursing through the lateral intercondylar notch in an anterior, inferior, and medial direction, and inserted on the anteromedial aspect of the intercondylar eminence. The posterolateral bundles originated from the anteromedial aspect of the lateral femoral condyle, passing laterally and inferiorly through the lateral intercondylar notch, and inserted on the posterolateral side of the intercondylar eminence. The full length of ACL of all 50 individuals was showed on MR images.MRI clearly differenitated the anteromedial and posterolateral bundles of ACL and depicted the full length of the bundles.similar to the findings on sectional anatomy. Conclusion Oblique coronal MR imaging is the best way to demonstrate ACL and should be used for clinically suspected injury of ACL.

Objective To investigate the awareness of malaria-related knowledge, the use of mosquito nets and their influencing factors among residents in Banlao Township, Cangyuan County, Yunnan Province.. Methods In August 2020, 19 settlement sites in Banlao Township, Cangyuan County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province were selected as study areas, and permanent residents at ages of 10 years and older were enrolled for a questionnaire survey, including residents’ demographics, family economic status, malaria control knowledge and use of mosquito nets. In addition, the factors affecting the use of mosquito nets in the night prior to the survey were identified using multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results A total of 320 questionnaires were allocated, and all were recovered (a 100% recovery rate). There were 316 valid questionnaires, with an effective recovery rate of 98.75%. The 316 respondents included 152 men and 164 women and 250 Chinese respondents and 66 foreign respondents. The awareness of clinical syndromes of malaria was significantly higher among Chinese residents (71.60%) than among foreign residents (50.00%) (χ2 = 11.03, P < 0.01), and the proportions of Chinese and foreign residents sleeping under mosquito nets were 46.00% and 69.70% on the night prior to the survey, respectively (χ2 = 11.73, P < 0.01). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified ethnicity group and type of residence as factors affecting the use of mosquito nets in the night prior to the survey. Conclusions The awareness of malaria control knowledge, the coverage and the use of mosquito nets were low among residents in Banlao Township, Cangyuan County, Yunnan Province. Targeted health education is recommended to improve the awareness of malaria control knowledge and self-protection ability. In addition, improving the allocation of long-lasting mosquito nets and health education pertaining to their uses and increasing the proportion of using mosquito nets correctly is needed to prevent re-establishment of imported malaria.
