1.The concept and evolution of academic medical careers as well as its revelation to China

This paper reviewed the origin,the evolution and the present status of academic medical careers.And it further analyzed the international developmental trend of academic medical careers.The aim is to offer some revelations for the practices of national medical education which is facing the reforms of Chinese medical and healthcare system.
2.An analyse of medical faculty character under PBL teaching mode

PBL works as a method based on problems,and its theory essence is the con-structivism.With the adjustment of the educational aim,the definition of faculty quality need change correspondingly.Under PBL medical education mode,"faculty"is no longer defined as the traditional"teacher",but as the promoter of medical knowledge for students and the participants of medical type reform.These two are the main characters of PBL medical faculty.
3.The analysis of the new concept for appointment and promotion in Harvard Medical School

Medical faculty’s appointment is one of the key factors to determine the health of medical education. The appointment reform ideology of medical school of Harvard University is to comform with the development trend of medicine science. Embodied in 2008 appointment reform is the integration of basic medical research, teaching and clinical work, stressong both academic freedom and multiple appointment standards so as to emphasize the excellent academic achievement.
