Kinetics of municipal sewage degradation in Expanded Granular Sludge Bed (EGSB) and Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) reactors at 10℃ were investigated via continuous experimental equipments. The results indicated that the whole reaction process can be simulated by the first-order dynamic equation model. Dynamic parameters such as k, Vmax and Ks of UASB in hydrolysis acidification stage were 1.08 d-1, 2.8 d-1 and 372 mg/L comparing to those of 1.18 d-1, 3.5 d-1 and 112 mg/L in the methanogenesis stage respectively. The EGSB's k, Vmax and Ks were 2.91 d-1, 14.3 d-1 and 470 mg/L in the hydrolysis acidification stage comparing to those of 1.68 d-1, 6.6 d-1 and 103 mg/L in the methanogenesis stage respectively. Comparison of k values of the two stages in UASB and EGSB indicates that hydrolysis acidification stage is the controlling step for the whole reaction process of UASB, while methanogenesis stage is the controlling step in EGSB. Compared with UASB, municipal sewage treatment by EGSB at 10 ℃ can reach the same effluent requirement with lower retention time due to its effluent recirculation.

Objective To explore the relationship between plasma adiponectin, visfatin, leptin, and resistin levels, and the onset of colonic polyps in prediabetes subjects. Methods A total of 468 prediabetes subjects, who received colonoscopy examination, were enrolled in this study, including 248 cases of colon polyps (polyps group with prediabetes) and 220 cases without colonic mucosal lesions ( polyps-free group with prediabetes). According to the clinical characteristics of colonic polyps, colonic polyps patients with prediabetes were subdivided into single polyp group, multiple polyps group, low-risk polyps group, and high-risk polyps group, respectively. In addition, 108 subjects with normal glucose tolerance, who were matched with prediabetes subjects on gender and age, were selected as control group, and 46 cases of them were refered to polyps group with normal glucose tolerance and 62 cases were refered to polyps-free group with normal glucose. Plasma adiponectin, visfatin, leptin, and resistin levels were measured in all subjects, and related risk factors of colonic polyps in prediabetes patients were analyzed. Results Not only in normal glucose tolerance subjects, but also in prediabetes subjects, plasma visfatin levels in polyps group were significantly higher than those in polyps-free group (P<0.05), and plasma adiponectin levels were significantly lower than those in polyps-free group [normal glucose tolerance (9.8±4.8 vs 13.3±3.9)mg/L, P<0.05; prediabetes (5.6 ± 3.7 vs 9.2 ± 4.4)mg/L, P<0.01], respectively. However, no significant difference in the plasma leptin and resistin levels were observed between polyps-free group and polyps group ( both P>0. 05), respectively. In addition, in prediabetes subjects, plasma visfatin levels increased (P<0.05) and adiponectin levels decreased significantly [(4.3 ± 2.6 vs 6.7 ± 3.9) mg/L, P<0.05] in multiple polyps group than in single polyp group. Nevertheless, there were no significant differences in plasma leptin and resistin levels between two groups (both P>0.05). Moreover, plasma adiponectin levels decreased significantly in high-risk polyps group with prediabetes than in low-risk polyps group with prediabetes[(3.7±2.9vs7.4±3.5)mg/L,P<0.05].Meanwhile,noneofplasmavisfatin,leptin,andresistinlevels had shown significant difference between two groups (all P>0.05). The multivariate logistic regression analysis found that adiponectin was an independent protective factor for colon polyps, multiple colon polyps and high-risk colon polyps. Conclusion The changes of plasma adiponectin levels might be associated with onset of colonic polyps in prediabetes.

BACKGROUND:
Improving and maintaining the health of mothers and newborns is indisputably a global priority, especially during a pandemic. This study intends to examine the factors associated with cesarean section (CS) during lockdown time.
METHODS:
A total of 678 women who just gave birth within 7 days were enrolled from maternal and children hospitals in nine cities of China from April to May 2020. The delivery modes and potential influencing factors were investigated. The subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis were used to examine the association of CS and risk factors among populations with different characteristics and to control for possible confounding, respectively.
RESULTS:
The overall rate of cesarean delivery was 37.3%. In multi-variant model, maternal age > 30 years (OR, 95% CI = 1.71, 1.21-2.41), higher pre-gestational BMI (OR, 95% CI = 1.16, 1.10-1.23), living in regions with confirmed COVID-19 cases > 500 (OR, 95% CI = 2.45, 1.74-3.45), and excess gestational weight gain (OR, 95% CI = 1.73, 1.17-2.55) were associated with cesarean delivery. These trends of associations were not changes in sensitivity analysis and subgroup analysis. Cesarean delivery occurred more in women who got more nutrition instruction during the pandemic period in the univariant model; however, this association showed insignificance in the multiple-variant analysis.
CONCLUSION
A high cesarean delivery rate was found in uninfected women who experienced lockdown in their third trimester. During the COVID-19 pandemic, more medical support should be provided in severely affected regions to ensure and promote health in pregnancy.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the awareness of the patients receiving Sanjin tablets in knowledge-attitude-practice (KAP) aspect, and its influential factors. METHODS Demographic characteristics, medication knowledge, attitude and practice of outpatients and inpatients who used Sanjin tablets in the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June to December 2020 were investigated online and offline for questionnaire survey and scale scoring.Oneway variance analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to screen the influential factors for KAP of the patient receiving Sanjin tablets. RESULTS A total of 503 valid questionnaires (effective recovery rate of 99.60%) were collected in this survey. The drug use knowledge score of Sanjin tablet users was (26.74±6.82) points, the drug use attitude score was (7.82±3.75) points, and the drug use practice score was (21.72±5.56) points. The overall scores were good, excellent and good, respectively. The results of oneway variance analysis showed that there were significant differences in drug use knowledge and drug use practice scores among the patients receiving Sanjin tablets with different ages, occupations and medical insurance types (P<0.05); there were significant differences in drug use attitude scores among the patients receiving Sanjin tablets with different ages, occupations, education levels and medical insurance types (P<0.05). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that ages, occupations, education levels and medical insurance types were the main factors affecting the drug use knowledge and drug use attitude of the patients receiving Sanjin tablets (P<0.05); education levels and medical insurance types were the main factors affecting the drug use practice of the patients receiving Sanjin tablets (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Most of the patients receiving Sanjin tablets have a good attitude towards the acquisition of safe medication information, but the knowledge to drug use and the actual drug use practice still have certain hidden danger in security; it is necessary to strengthen drug use education and publicity for individual age groups, low-educational background groups and other people, carry out the drug education among the population with different vocational characteristics and medical insurance types in order to promote safe and rational drug use.

Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a severe globally distributed liver disease that could occur at any age. Human menstrual blood-derived stem cells (MenSCs) have shown therapeutic effect in acute lung injury and liver failure. However, their role in the curative effect of AIH remains unclear. Here, a classic AIH mouse model was constructed through intravenous injection with concanavalin A (Con A). MenSCs were intravenously injected while Con A injection in the treatment groups. The results showed that the mortality by Con A injection was significantly decreased by MenSCs treatment and liver function tests and histological analysis were also ameliorated. The results of phosphoproteomic analysis and RNA-seq revealed that MenSCs improved AIH, mainly by apoptosis and c-Jun N-terminal kinase/mitogen-activated protein signaling pathways. Apoptosis analysis demonstrated that the protein expression of cleaved caspase 3 was increased by Con A injection and reduced by MenSCs transplantation, consistent with the TUNEL staining results. An AML12 co-culture system and JNK inhibitor (SP600125) were used to verify the JNK/MAPK and apoptosis signaling pathways. These findings suggested that MenSCs could be a promising strategy for AIH.
