Objective:To study the effect of quercetin given during pregnancy and lactation period of obese rats on weight and expression of insulin-like growth factors-1 ( IGF-1 ) mRNA of the offspring . Methods:In the study , 8 healthy weaning female SD rats were randomly selected to feed the basal diet and as blank control group , and the others were fed with high-fat diet. When the average weight of the high-fat diet rats was 20% as many as the average weight of the control group , we believed the model succeeded .Then the female SD rats were mated and the pregnant rats were randomly divided into 5 groups , 8 rats in each .They were fed with high fat diet during pregnancy and lactation , and the obese pregnant rats were respectively irrigated with 0 mg/kg body weight ( high-fat control ) , 50 mg/kg body weight,100 mg/kg body weight , and 200 mg/kg body weight quercetin .The blank control group was fed with basic diet throughout the experimental period .The birth weight , the weights during the development of d7, d21, d56, and d98, and the expressions of IGF-1 mRNA in livers tissue of the F1 generation were measured. Results:The average birth weight of the F1 generation of high fat diet (HFD) group was sig-nificantly higher than that of the blank control group .Decreased offspring birth weight was observed with the intervention of quercetin , which effect remained to the delectation .The quercetin also reduced the ex-pression of IGF-1 mRNA in livers of the F1 generation , and this effect remained to the adulthood .The 200 mg/kg body weight quercetin was most significantly effective .Conclusion:The averaged birth weight of the F1 generation of obese pregnant rats was significantly increased , and quercetin could effectively in-hibit the expression of IGF-1 mRNA in livers of F1 generation to decrease cell proliferation and cell differentiation.

Chinese Journal of Interventional Cardiology 2003;0(05):-
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of CYPHER TM (rapamycin) stent in treatment of left anterior descending (LAD) long lesion. Methods From October 2002 to April 2003, 65 patients with coronary heart disease (CAD) were treated with CYPHER TM (Cordis) stent and 65 stents were planted in 53 LAD lesions. Among the patients with LAD lesions, 42 cases were long lesions (≥20 mm). The length of lesion was from 20 mm to 50 mm (28.2?8.8 mm), the degree of stenosis before procedure was 88.9%?8.5%, and the vessel diameter before procedure was 3.0?0.9 mm. Three lesions were chronic total occlusion (CTO) lesion. Two lesions were in-stent restenosis. 12 lesions over 35 mm long were treated with two overlapped stents to cover the whole lesion. 30 lesions were treated with only one stent. We observed the procedure success and complication rates. The occurance of angina, myocardial infarction, sudden death, and the revascularization rate during the in-hospital and 6 months follow up. Results Immediate procedure success rate was 100% with residual stenosis of 5.0%?4.8%. All the lesions were covered fully by stents and the coronary flow reached TIMI grade three. No new dissection was observed in the optimal of stents. Only one patient was diagnosed as myocardial infarction after procedure and in-stent thrombolysis was proved by coronary artery angiography (CAG). During the 6 months follow-up, the symptom of angina was disappeared in 38 patients and alleviated in 4 patients. Eight patients received CAG in 3-6 months and no restenosis was observed. Conclusion Drug eluting stent (CYPHER TM) implantation is a safe and efficient therapy in treating patients with LAD long lesion, and short term follow-up results were better than the general coronary stents.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(10):-
Objective To evaluate the clinical diagnostic role of dental computed tomography (CT) and three-dimensional reconstruction (3DR) compared with conventional dental periapical radiography (DPR) in the diagnosis of molar furcation involvement (FI). Methods Dental CT and 3DR were performed about a maxillary first molar and its alveolar bone diagnosed as FI II? by conventional probe technique, and the images were compared with that of DPR. Results The images of dental CT scans and 3DR showed not only the area, type and quantity of periodontal destruction, but also the complex stereoscopic anatomical vision and ambient spatial relationship around the molar. Especially, the images displayed the alveolar destructions of the dental buccal and palate site that could not always be demonstrated by DPR. The degree of the molar FI was defined as III? in fact. Conclusion Dental CT and 3DR have many superiorities and value, which can not be replaced by DPR, in the clinical diagnosis and prognostic judgment of molar furcation involvement.
