Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2016;(2):169-171
As one subclass of forkhead proteins, the forkhead box O ( FoxO) transcription factors take part in a series of bio-logical processes including cellular apoptosis, damaged DNA re-pair and cleavage of reactive oxygen species(ROS). Increasing evidence highlights that oxidative stress elicited by FoxOs con-tributes to imbalance of redox status in cells related to bone me-tabolism, resulting in development of the pathogenesis of osteo-porosis. This article reviews the relationship of FoxOs and osteo-porosis, which may be beneficial for the research of pathological mechanism and therapeutic strategy of osteoporosis.

ObjectiveTo investigate relationship between the degree of placenta praevia, vaginal bleeding and clinical outcomes. MethodsRecords of 89 patients with placenta praevia(mild praevia group 43; severe praevia group 46) were reviewed retrospectively, and outcomes were compared. ResultsThe gestational age at the first bleeding and diagnosis was significantly smaller in severe group than that in mild one (P<0.05). The incidence of antepartum haemorrhage, the times of bleeding and the episodes of heavy bleeding in two groups showed no significant differences(P>0.05). The gestational age at diagnosis and delivery and birthweight were significantly smaller in women with antepartum bleeding than in those without( P<0.01 ). The number of deliveries by emergency caesarean section in women with antepartum bleeding was significantly higher than that in those without (P<0.01). ConclusionThe clinical outcomes of placenta praevia are highly variable. There are no obvious clinical features that are typical in predicting the clinical outcomes. The number of bleeding episodes and the degree of praevia are not associated with outcomes, so they can't be the proof to determine the treatment plan ahead of time.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2003;0(04):-
Objective:To probe the effect of prenatal ethanol exposure on the mitochondrial protein expression in fetal mouse cerebrum. Methods:Pregnant CD-1 mice were given 5.0 g/kg ethanol intragastrically from pregnant days (PD) 6-15. Fetal cerebral mitochondria were isolated on PD 18. The overall mitochondrial protein was applied to two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Differentially expressed protein spots were cut off and identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry. Activities of respiratory chain complex Ⅳ(72.3%?4.6% of control)and ATP synthase, and ATP content in the fetal cerebral cells were measured. Results:Expressions of some constructional and functional proteins were altered by in utero ethanol exposure. Activities of respiratory chain complex Ⅳ and ATP synthase (80.3%?5.1% of control)were both decreased. ATP content (67.9%?3.9% of control) in the cerebral cells was reduced in the in utero ethanol exposure fetuses. Conclusion:In utero ethanol exposure affects the mitochondrial protein expression of fetal mouse cerebrum, even in the tissue without obvious morphological malformations, which may be a possible mechanism of behavioral defects found in children with prenatal ethanol exposure.

Journal of Clinical Neurology 1997;0(06):-
Objective To investigate the clinical features of primary angiitis of the central nervous system (PACNS). Methods The clinical data of 27 patients with PACNS were analyzed. Results PACNS commonly occured in young and middli-aged adult and with acute or subacute onset. The clinical manifestations were mainly including headache, decrudescence of cortical functions, focal neurological deficits and seizures. The hypointensity signals on T1WI and T2WI were showed and could be enhanced at lesions by skull MRI. The pia vessels inflammatory lesions were revealed in brain by pathological examination. The treated with glucocorticoid and combined therapy such as anti platelet aggregation, scavenging free radicals, reducing intracranial pressure, improving microcirculation and promoting neuronic metabolism, the condition get better. Conclusions The clinical manifestation of PACNS is various. The diagnosis can be make by combining the data of clinical features, imaging and brain biopsy. The treatment with glucocorticoid can obtain better efficacy.
