ObjectiveTo investigate the current status of hope in maintenance hemodialysis patients and analyze its influential factor,in order to provide reference for effective intervention.MethodsA total of 182 maintenance hemodialysis patients were recruited from 3 dialysis centers in Guangzhou and were investigated with the self-designed questionnaire,dialysis symptom Index,the Herth hope scale,simplified coping scale and social support scale.The data were analyzed by single-factor and multiple-factor analysis.ResultsThe average score of hope in maintenance hemodialysis patients was 31.83 ±3.69,and 87.91％ of patients got a moderate hope level.The average scores of present of symptom distress,degree of distress,active coping style,passive coping style and social support were 13.44 ± 5.63,35.27 ± 18.51,2.15 ± 0.28,1.56 ± 0.33 and 42.24 ± 4.09 respectively.Multiple linear regression indicated that symptoms presence,the symptoms distress degree,the passive coping style were the risk factors of hope level and the standard regression coefficient were - 0.098,- 0.424,- 0.104,P =0.047 ～ 0.000.The social support and the active coping style were the protective factors of hope level and the standard regression coefficient were 0.183,0.226,P=0.000.And they explained 96.2％ of the variance.ConclusionThe level of hope in maintenance hemodialysis patients is moderate.Symptom distress,the coping style and social support are factors influencing hope level of patients.

The absorption of 59 Fe incorporated into yeast was studied in rats. Yeast was cultured in a nutrient solution to which radioactive 59Fe was added as an intrinsic tag. The 59Fe-enriched yeast was separated from the solution by centrifuge and given to rats by a stomach tube. The rats of the control groups were given the radioactive " Fe together -with ordina-ly yeast plus ferrous sulfate or only with ferrous sulfate separately.All feces were collected until less than 0.5 per cent of the administered dose was present in a 24-hour specimen of feces. The radioactivity in the feces was then measured daily for three successive days. The absorption of iron was calculated by the difference between intake and fecal loss.The result revealed that the absorption of iron in "Fe-enriched yeast (38.7%) was similar to that of ferrous sulfate (38.3%). It indicated that the iron incorporated into yeast was easily to be absorbed.This study afforded the scientific data for researching and popularizing fortified food with iron-enriched yeast.

BACKGROUND: Neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopahty(NHIE) is a common neonatal disease, which could cause cerebral palsy, inferior intelligence and convulsion. At present, usual examinations for this disease are CT.MRI and single photon emission computed tomography(SPECT), etc.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the character of SPECT image of NHIE, and compared with CT and MRI as well to provide a theoretical gist for function surveillance and early intervention of NHIE.DESIGN: An observatory comparative study based on NHIE patients and normal neouates as control.SETTING: Department of nuclear medicine in a medical university hospital.PARTICIPANTS: Thirty neonates hospitalized in the Department of Pediatrics, Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical College between September 1998 and October 2000 were selected as observation group with 23 males and 7 females. Another 10 normal neonates including 7 males and 3 females were randomly selected from same period into control group.METHODS: SPECT brain blood perfusion was conducted in the subjects of two groups and the results were compared with that of CT and MRI.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① comparison of SPECT brain blood image features between NHIE and normal neonates; ② comparison of SPECT images and CT, MRI results. RESULTS: In 22 NHIE cases who received SPECT, CT and MRI simultaneously, mild group had 7 cases, and positive cases of SPECT, CT or MRI was 7, 3 or 5; moderate group had 10 cases, and positive cases of three methods was 10, 8 or 9; severe group had 5 cases, the all of them were positive in all three examinations. The total positive detectable rate of SPECT, CT or MRI was 100, 72.73% or 86. 36%. There was no significant difference of sensitivity between SPECT and MRI in mild group, while there was significant difference between SPECT and CT(x2 = 3.95, P ＜ 0.05);there was no significant difference among three methods in either moderate group or severe group(x2 =0. 83, P ＞ 0.05).CONCLUSION: SPECT brain blood perfusion image is a quite sensitive method for the surveillance of NHIE, which can provide imageological reference for the evaluation of its prognosis and early intervention.

Objective To explore immunological mark and the outcome of disease after pharmacological treatment in human NCC with praziquantel. Methods 35 patients were treated with praziquantel for 6 months. Levels of serum IL-2,IFN-γ, IL-12, IL-5, IL-10 and TNF-α were measured before and after treatment. Results Th1 type cytokines IL-2, IFN-γand IL-12 were up regulated after treatment( P ＜ 0. 01 ) . Levels of TNF-α and Th2 type cytokines IL-5 and IL-10 were remarkable decreased after treatment( P ＜ 0. 01 ). The levels of IL-2, IFN-γ and IL-12 from the patients with good response to the treatment is higher than those with no response to the treatment. Conclusion Th1 type cytokines were up regulated while Th2 type cytokines were down regulated in the NCC patients treated with praziquantel. The protective immunity may be related to the Thl cell activation.

Objective To investigate the nutritional components and aging-delaying action of some wild berries such as vaccimum vitia-idaea, vitis amurensis, and actinidia arguta in Changbai Mountainous area. Methods Contents of vitamin B 1, B 2, C, niacin, ?-carotene, and minerals such as Fe, Ca and Zn were analyzed. Wild berry juice was administered to aged mice for 30 days respectively at the doses of 3 g?kg -1 and 6 g?kg -1. Then activities of SOD and GSH-Px, and contents of MDA and lipofuscin were measured. Results Contents of vitamin B 1, B 2, C, ?-carotene, and Fe, Ca, Zn in the berries were significantly higher than those in common cultivated fruits. Objective To compare the effects of different extracts of Rheum palmatum on weight and tissue structure of hypothalamusand and pituitary of adult female rats,and screen the main reproductive toxicity extract.Methods The water,chloroform,ethyl acetate,and n-butanol extracts and water-soluble substance of R.palmatum were prepared by polarity gradient extraction method.Female adult rats were randomly divided into blank control group,rhubarb water extract group,and different extracts groups.The dosage of all the groups was equivalent to 4.00 g/kg crude rhubarb.Rats were administered with extracts by gavage for 60 d.Body mass growth rate of rats were calculated before and after administration.The pathological changes of hypothalamic arcuate nucleus neurons and pituitary gonadal cell were observed with light microscope.Results Compared with the blank control group,the body mass growth rate of rhubarb water extract group was decreased (P ＜ 0.05),while those in the different extracts groups were increased (P ＜ 0.01);The hypothalamic arcuate nucleus neurons of rhubarb water extract group showed chromatin marginalization,nissl substance dissolving,fuzzy boundary of nuclear membrane,as well as hell cells,and the total number of adenohypophysis cells reduced and the cells arranged in irregular.However,there were no apparent pathologic changes in different extracts groups.Conclusion Rhubarb water extract administration by long-term dose can reduce weight growth rate and result in pathologic changes of hypothalamic arcuate nucleus and adenohypophysis,while the different extracts can increase weight growth rate significantly and have little effects on the organizational structure ofhypothalamic arcuate nucleus and adenohypophysis.

Objective:To retrospectively analyze related factors of subtype transformation and to identify prognostic factors for pa-tients with retroperitoneal liposarcoma (RPLS). Methods:This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 92 patients with RPLS, which were confirmed by postoperative pathology from July 1997 to October 2014 in Henan Provincial Tumor Hospital. Related studies were reviewed, and the prognoses were followed up. The factors may affect subtype transformation or prognoses were applied to the statistical analysis. Results:A total of 74 patients with RPLS were included according to the recruiting standard. The 5-year survival rate was 48.65%. Lobulated tumors (P=0.013) were the correlative factors that influenced subtype transformation. The Log-rank test showed that the age at diagnosis (P=0.045), multi-visceral resection (P=0.042), tumor necrosis (P<0.001), subtype transformation (P<0.001), and malignant level of pathological subtypes of the first operation (P<0.001) influenced overall survival. Multivariate Cox re-gression analysis showed that tumor necrosis and the malignant level of the initial histological grade were independent factors of over-all survival. Conclusion:Lobulated tumors are likely to transform the subtype. The prognosis of patients with RPLS is correlated with multi-visceral resection, tumors necrosis, subtype transformation, and the malignant level of pathological subtypes of the first opera-tion. Multi-visceral resection could not improve the 5-year survival rate of RPLS, and adjuvant therapy could not improve the prognosis.

Objective: To analyze the association between recombinant solute carrier family 11, member 1 ( SLC11A1 ) rs17235409 polymorphism and treatment failure of pulmonary tuberculosis, so as to provide the basis for the prevention and treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods: The patients with pulmonary tuberculosis registered for treatment at the Urumqi Center for Disease Control and Prevention in 2019 was recruited and collected demographic, clinical and treatment information from National Infectious Diseases Reporting System. The polymorphism of SLC11A1 rs17235409 was detected by multiple ligase chain reaction and Hardy-Weinberg balance test was performed. The multivariate logistic regression analysis was conducted for the association between rs17235409 and the treatment outcome of tuberculosis. Results: A total of 731 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis patients were enrolled, and 37 cases failed, with a failure rate of 5.06%. The failure rate of the patients with G/A was 8.55%, with G/G was 4.23%. The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the patients with G/A were more likely to fail in the treatment than those with G/G ( OR=2.213, 95%CI: 1.041-4.702 ). The males with G/A were more likely to fail in the treatment than those with G/G ( OR=2.547, 95%CI: 1.021-6.356 ). Conclusion The rs17235409 polymorphism of SLC11A1 is associated with the failure of tuberculosis treatment, and the patients with G/A are more likely to fail.

Objective To develop and validate a method for detecting factor 8 gene (F8) mutations in hemophilia A patients by Ion Torrent semiconductor sequencing .Methods Intron 22 and intron 1 inversions of F8 gene were identified by long distance PCR (LD-PCR), other mutations in the F8 gene were identified by Ion Torrent sequencing.Candidate variants were validated by Sanger sequencing .Sanger sequencing was applied to screen HA carriers from 11 female family members in the 8 pedigrees.One pregnant woman was offered prenatal diagnosis via analyzing the fetal DNA obtained through amniocentesis . Results Four missense mutations ( c.1331A >C, 1648C >T, c.6506G >A, c.6544C >T), two frameshift mutations ( c.2393 _2394insT, c.6320delG), one splicing mutation ( IVS5 +5G >A), one nonsense mutation (c.43C >T) and one Inv22 mutation were identified in all nine probands respectively . Among 11 female family members, 10 females were identified to be HA carriers, and one didn′t carry the maternal pathogenic mutation.Prenatal diagnosis result showed that the fetus inherited the wild -type maternal allele and was predicted to be unaffected by HA .Conclusion The targeted Ion Torrent sequencing is a reliable and efficient method to detect F8 mutations in patients with Hemophilia A disease .

At present, interdisciplinary integration has become a major feature of the development of science and technology, and multi-disciplinary integration will gradually become the norm. Professional and technological multi-disciplinary integration has unpredictable potential, which will produce new disciplinary frontiers, new fields of science and technology and new patterns of innovation. Organ donation is a new discipline in China's new era. Constructing and promoting an organ donation disciplinary system with the overall goal of safeguarding legal and reasonable rights and interests of donors and their families and the health rights and interests of the recipients are in line with the fundamental requirements of maintaining high-quality development of organ donation and transplantation in China. Meantime, organ donation is a complex medical and social behavior, and organs donated by citizens belong to national resources, which also endows organ donation with a social welfare attribute and relevance with all parties in society. In this article, the essence of current problems encountered during organ donation in China, the whole process of organ donation and theoretical knowledge, professional skills and personnel support required by donors in different clinical stages were analyzed to illustrate the necessity and feasibility of establishing an organ donation disciplinary system based on multi-disciplinary integration. Besides, how to integrate organ donation disciplinary construction into the national policy was also investigated. Taking safeguarding the rights and interests of donors, family members and recipients as the core and taking organ donation and transplantation as the main line, cooperative principles of co-creation, co-construction, mutual promotion, sharing and win-win should be upheld, aiming to promote multi-disciplinary integration and comprehensive talent cultivation of organ donation, jointly enhance the recognition rate and donation rate of organ donation, and make organ donation widely recognized by citizens from all walks of life.
