Objective:To investigate the clinicopathological and genetic features of nodular fasciitis of the breast (NFB).Methods:The clinical and histologic features of seven NFBs were retrospectively reviewed. Immunohistochemistry, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) were performed. Results:All the seven patients were female, with a mean age of 36 years (range from 15 to 51 years). The duration of the lesion ranged from 10 days to 2 years. There was no history of trauma for all patients. The lesions occurred in the upper quadrant (4 cases), the lower quadrant (2 cases) and the axillary tail region (1 case). The maximum diameter was 1.0-3.5 cm. All cases showed similar morphology as nodular fasciitis occurring elsewhere in the body. They were composed of plump spindle cells arranged in short bundles or fascicles within a loose collagenous/myxoid stroma. Erythrocyte extravasation, mixed chronic inflammatory cells infiltration and microcystic changes were typically seen. Mitoses were present, with no atypical mitoses observed. The spindle cells were positive for smooth muscleactin(SMA, 6/6), CD10(2/3), and negative for desmin, β-catenin, CD34, CKpan, EMA, S-100, p63 and ALK-1.The Ki-67 index were 5%-15%. USP6 gene rearrangement was found in six cases and MYH9-USP6 gene fusion in two cases. Local resection was performed in six cases. Spontaneous regression was observed in one case. Follow-up of all seven cases revealed no recurrence or metastasis. Conclusions:Although rare, NFB can mimic breast cancer clinically, radiologically and histologically. It should be always considered in the differential diagnosis for the spindle cell proliferations of the breast. A diagnosis of NFB can be achieved basing on the typical clinicopathological presentation. FISH detection of USP6 gene rearrangement in challenging cases is of great value.

OBJECTIVE To investigate whether electroacupuncture(EA)ameliorates abnormal trigeminal neuralgia(TN)orofacial pain and anxiety-like behavior by altering synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus CA1.METHODS A mouse infraorbital nerve transection model(pT-ION)of neuropathic pain was established, and EA or sham EA was used to treat ipsilateral acu-puncture points(GV20-Baihui and ST7-Xia-guan).Golgi-Cox staining and transmission elec-tron microscopy(TEM)were administrated to observe the changes of synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus CA1.RESULTS Stable and per-sistent orofacial allodynia and anxiety-like behav-iors induced by pT-ION were related to changes in hippocampal synaptic plasticity.Golgi stain-ings showed a decrease in the density of dendritic spines, especially mushroom-type dendritic spines,in hippocampal CA1 neurons of pT-ION mice.TEM results showed that the density of synapses, membrane thickness of the postsynap-tic density, and length of the synaptic active zone were decreased, whereas the width of the synap-tic cleft was increased in pTION mice.EA attenu-ated pT-ION-induced orofacial allodynia and anx-iety-like behaviors and effectively reversed the abnormal changes in dendritic spines and syn-apse of the hippocampal CA1 region.CONCLU-SION EA modulates synaptic plasticity of hippo-campal CA1 neurons, and reduces abnormal oro-facial pain and anxiety-like behavior, providing evidence for a TN treatment strategy.

Objective:To explore the effect of suspension exercise training (SET) on the lumbar function and balance ability of patients with thoracolumbar fracture and spinal cord injury. Methods:Totally 64 patients with thoracolumbar fracture and spinalcord injury were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, each of 32. Both groups received pedicle screw reduction with internal fixation and spinal dome decompression, followed by routine post-operative rehabilitation. In addition, the observation group performed double bridge and single leg suspension training and pelvic lift training. Everyone′s walking ability, spinal nerve functionality and balance were evaluated 3 days after the operation and 2 months after the training. Stride frequency, stride length and walking speed were observed. American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) nerve function classifications were assigned. The trajectory length, trajectory included area and movement deviation of each subject′s center of gravity (CG) was recorded. Results:The average stride frequency, step length and walking speed of the observation group had all improved significantly after the intervention, and were significantly better than the control group′s averages at that point. This was also true of the proportion in ASIA neurological function grade D (65.63%), CG trajectory length and area, and the Romberg rate of deviation along the X-axis and Y-axis of the CG.Conclusion:SET training after pedicle screw reduction and internal fixation and spinal dome decompression can significantly improve the spinal nerve functioning of persons after a thoracolumbar fracture with incomplete spinal cord injury. It enhances their balance and walking ability. Such therapy is worthy of clinical promotion and application.

Chinese Journal of Microbiology and Immunology 2024;44(11):992-998
Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) are a heterogeneous cell population of myeloid origin with immunosuppressive function. MDSCs can inhibit the normal immune response of the host to tumor by inhibiting the activity of T cells, natural killer cells, macrophage, B cells, and promoting the proliferation of Treg and other mechanisms. Therefore, MDSCs are potential targets for tumor immunotherapy. However, whether immunotherapy or other treatments, the effectiveness of monotherapy is limited, so immunotherapy combined with other treatments is a breakthrough combination. In recent years, immunotherapy combined with other treatments has shown initial results, with better results than monotherapy. It has become a research hotspot in tumor treatment and a new treatment method in the future. This article summarized the research progress on the effects of immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, Chinese herbal extract and Immunotherapy combination on MDSCs, in order to provide theoretical support for the clinical application of immunotherapy based combined tumor treatment measures.

【Objective】 To explore the causal association between the onset of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and migraine and to provide genetic evidence, a two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) method was used in this study. 【Methods】 Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) information for both samples was obtained from publicly available genome-wide association study (GWAS) databases, in which the appropriate SNPs were selected as instrumental variables, and then bidirectional MR analysis used five MR analysis methods including inverse variance weighting (IVW), MR-Egger regression, weighted median, weighted mode and simple mode methods, followed by sensitivity analysis. 【Results】 IVW showed positive results of forward MR analysis with GERD as exposure [OR=1.398 7, 95%CI (1.181 7-1.655 6), P=9.59×10-5] , while no positive significance of reverse MR analysis results with migraine as exposure (P>0.05). The same results were obtained in methods other than MR-Egger method. Meanwhile, none of the instrumental variables were found to be horizontally polytomous (P=0.92, P=0.64), and the results were robust after the leave-one-out method to exclude single SNPs. 【Conclusion】 There may be a unidirectional causal association between GERD and migraine, and GERD is a risk factor for migraine development.

Chinese Journal of Blood Transfusion 2023;36(2):95-100
Autologous ozonized blood transfusion(AOBT) is a therapy of re-transfusion of 100-200 mL of autologous blood after shaking and agitation with appropriate amount of oxygen-ozone in vitro. The oxidation of blood through the strong oxidation of ozone can enhance the non-specific immune response of the body, regulate the internal environment and promote health. This therapy has been increasingly applied in clinical practice, while no unified standard for the operation process in terms of ozone concentration, treatment frequency and treatment course had been established. This operation process of AOBT is primarily explored in order to standardize the operation process and ensure its safety and efficacy.
