Objective:To evaluate the effect of different dietary pattern and soybean oligosac-charides supplementation on the amount and proportion of short-chain fatty acids (SCFA). Method: Twelve healthy students aged 20 to 25 years old were selected in the medical college. The study included 3 periods. In every period the students accepted different dietary patterns in 1st week [1. low animal food diet (LAFD),2. balanced food diet (BD), 3. high animal food diet (HAFD)]. Soybean oligosaccharides (5g/d) were added to different diets in 2nd week. The diet in 1st week was recovered in 3rd week. The study lasted for 9 w. Feces were collected once a week and SCFA was measured by capillary gas chromatography. Objective:To investigate the effect of O-6-methylguananine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) gene promoter methylation status on the treatment and prognosis of elderly patients newly-diagnosed with glioblastoma (GBM).Methods:Clinical data of 65 newly-diagnosed GBM patients admitted to Tianjin Huanhu Hospital from January 2012 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients received intensity-modulated radiotherapy after surgery and 49 patients received temozolomide (TMZ) monotherapy. All patients were divided into the MGMT(+ ) group and MGMT(-) group according to the methylation status of MGMT promoter. Kaplan- Meier method and log-rank test were used for univariate survival analysis, and Cox regression model was used for multivariate prognostic analysis. Results:The median overall survival (OS) for all patients was 18.0 months. The median OS was 27.0 months and 15.3 months in the MGMT(+ ) group and MGMT(-) group, respectively. Univariate analysis revealed that tumor number, MGMT promoter methylation, postoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy were significantly related to clinical prognosis ( P=0.029, P=0.001 and P<0.001). In multivariate analysis, tumor number and postoperative concurrent chemoradiotherapy were identified as significant prognostic factors for OS ( P=0.037, P=0.004). In the MGMT(+ ) group, the median OS was 27.0 months for patients receiving concurrent chemoradiotherapy and 12.0 months for radiotherapy alone ( P=0.040). In the MGMT(-) group, the median OS was 17.0 months for concurrent chemoradiotherapy patients and 10.0 months for radiotherapy alone ( P=0.122). Conclusions:MGMT promoter methylation status is significantly associated with longer OS in elderly GBM patients. Conventional fractional radiotherapy combined with concurrent and sequential TMZ chemotherapy probably yields better survival benefits.

Objective To assess the effect of iDose4 in image quality and radiation dosage in CT angiography of craniocervical arteries.Methods Imaging data of 50 patients with 256-slice spiral CT angiography of craniocervical arteries were randomly divided into two groups:(A) 120 kV,250 mAs (25 patients),(B) iDose4 100 kV,180 mAs (25 patients).Dose length product (DLP) of the two groups were compared.Objective image noise was compared by two blinded readers,t test and nonparametric tests were used for statistical analysis.Results The overall image quality score of group A (3 points =1 patient,4 points =6 patients and 5 points =18 patients) and group B (4 points =5 patients and 5 points =20 patients) were shown.The image noise of group A (1 point =1 patient,2 points =5 patients and3 points =19 patients) and group B (2 points =4 patients,3 points =21 patients) were also evaluated.There was no statistical difference in revealing rate of image quality scores and objective noise between the two groups (Z =-0.334,-0.218,P ＞ 0.05).The estimated effective radiation dose was reduced by 56％ in group B than in group A.DLP was significantly lower in group B [(642.4 ±36.6) mGy · cm]than in group A [(1462.1 ± 64.3) mGy · cm].Conclusion Low dose contrast medium of CT angiography can display craniocervical arteries and the intracranial arteries very well with high image quality.

Purpose　The aim is to breed a highly productive γ-linolenic acid mutant strain.Methods　The original strain Mortierella ramanniance AS 3.3413 was treated by 5-FU,UV,LiCl as mutanting agent.Results　A highly productive γ-linolenic acid mutant strain F5 was successfully obtained.The γ-linolenic acid yield of mutant strain F5 was increased by 300% as compared with that of the original strain.Pass-generation test showed that the heredity character of mutant strain F5 was stable.After the optimal medium and culture condition was established, the yield of γ-linolenic acid was up to 1 153.63 mg/L,and was increased by 335.87% as compared with that of the original strain.Conclusion　The mutant strain can be used for the industrial production of GLA.

Objective To investigate health status of medical staff and its impacting factors so as to provide useful health guidance. Methods Health examination data from 2 hospitals in Zhejiang province were collected. The medical staff group was classified into 5 subgroups according to the departments; the control group was composed of other mental labors. The health examinations included clinical, laboratory and special testing. SPSS 11.0 software was used for data analysis. Results Compared with the control group, the morbidity rate of the medical staff group was higher, especially in those aged < 50 (χ2 = 6. 651,8. 883, and 7. 446; all P < 0.05 ). All medical staff subgroups showed significant difference in morbidity rate ( χ2 = 39. 099 ,P < 0.05 ). Hyperlipidemia,cervical erosion,and breast hyperplasia were the most common diseases found in medical staff; while the control group developed more breast hyperplasia, hyperlipidemia, and retinal arteriosclerosis. Conclusions Health status of medical staff could not be optimal. Effective health education would be needed to improve life style and relieve stress.

BACKGROUND:The internal structures of the colagen-heparan sulfate scaffold and human nerve are very similar. OBJECTIVE: To explore thein vivo biocompatibility of colagen-heparin sulfate scaffold. METHODS:Forty pigs were randomly divided into two groups, 20 in each group: observation group and control group. Medulo-puncture needle was inserted 1.0 cm adjacent to the midline of anterior fontanele into the subarachnoid space, and then removed gradualy. Colagen-heparin sulfate scaffold was implanted into the observation group, and no treatment was given in the control group. Brain tissues were observed under transmission electron microscope, and cel apoptosis and Caspase-3 expression were detected at days 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 after surgery. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Under the electron microscope, there were some damaged neurons in the observation group with the emergence of demyelination changes in the myelinated nerve fibers; positiveexpression of Caspase-3 protein was found at the junction between the brain tissue and scaffold as wel as within the scaffold, but no positive expression was found in the surrounding tissue. There was no cel apoptosis within 30 days after surgery except for individual apoptotic neurons both in the observation group and control group. The number of apoptotic cels in the observation group was higher than that in the control group at days 1, 3, 7, 14 days after surgery (P < 0.05), but there was no difference between the two groups at 30 days after surgery (P > 0.05). Caspase-3 protein expression was at a low state in the two groups, but the protein expression of Caspase-3 was higher in the observation group than the control group at days 3 and 7 after surgery (P < 0.05). These findings indicate that the colagen heparin sulfate scaffold has good biocompatibility in the porcine brain.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture in treating severe functional constipation. Method Seventy patients with severe functional constipation were randomized into a treatment group (35 cases) and a control group (35 cases). The treatment group was intervened by deeply needling bilateral Tianshu (ST25) and Fujie (SP14) with electrical stimulation in addition to ordinary acupuncture at bilateral Shangjuxu (ST37);the control group was by superficially needling the areas beside bilateral Tianshu, Fujie and Shangjuxu with sham electroacupuncture. The two groups were both treated for successive 8 weeks and were followed up for another 3 months. The complete spontaneous bowel movements (CSBMs), Bristol stool form Scale (BSFS) and difficulty in bowel movements were observed every week. Result The two groups both showed significant improvements in average weekly CSBMs (P<0.05,P<0.01), and the CSBMs at the end of the treatment were better in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05); the two groups were both effective in improving BSFS and difficulty in bowel movements, without significant between-group differences(P>0.05). Conclusion Electroacupuncture can improve CSBMs in severe functional constipation, but it’s insignificantly different from sham acupuncture in improving stool form and defecation difficulty.

Objective T o investigate the relationship betw een the expression of secreted frizzled-related protein 5 (SFR P5) m RNA and the tim e interval after skeletal m uscle injury in rats by real-tim e PC R . Methods A total of ninety SD rats w ere random ly divided into the contusion groups at different tim es including 4 h, 8 h, 12 h, 16 h, 20 h, 24 h, 28 h, 32 h, 36 h, 40 h, 44 h, 48 h after contusion, incision groups at different tim es including 4h and 8h after incision and the control group. T he sam ples w ere taken from the contused zone at different tim e points. T he total RNA w as isolated from the sam ples and re-versely transcribed to analyze the expression levels of SFRP5 m RNA . Results C om pared to the control group, the expression of SFRP5 m RNA in contusion groups w ere dow n-regulated w ithin 48 h after con-tusion and reached the low est level at 20 h, and the expression of SFRP5 m RNA gradually increased from 20 h to 48 h after contusion. T he expression of SFRP5 m RNA in the incised groups w ere signifi-cantly low er than that of the contusion groups at 4 h after injury. A t the tim e of 8 h, the expression levels betw een the contusion and incision groups show ed no statistically significant difference. Conclusion It is suggested that SFRP5 m RNA analysis m ay show regular expression and can be a m arker for estim ation of skeletal m uscle injury age.

Objective: To explore the effect of anxiety, depression, perceived social support on maternal-fetal attachment (MFA) in women during late pregnancy. Method: A sample of 207 cases of women during late pregnancy was assessed with Maternal Antenatal Attachment Scale, Perceived Social Support Scale and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale. Results: Anxiety and depression scores were negatively correlated with MFA scores (r=-0.401,-0.416, P<0.01); perceived social support scores were negatively correlated with anxiety and depression (r=-0.233,-0.362, P<0.01), but positively correlated with MFA scores (r=0.200, P<0.01). The interactive effects of anxiety×perceived social support and depression × perceived social support on MFA were significant(β=0.196、0.204, P<0.01). Conclusion Perceived social support played a moderating role between negative emotion and MFA.

Objective To translate Rheumatoid Arthritis Self-efficacy Scale (RASE) into Chinese and to evaluate its reliability and validity. Methods A total of 188 hospitalized patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) were selected as research subjects through convenience sampling method. According to the translation mode of the scale, Chinesization and cultural adjustment were conducted to the English version of RASEto test reliability and validity. Results Item analysis showed that the Chinese version of RASE could discriminate the high-score group from the low-score group (P<0.01). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the correlation coefficient between the score of each item and the total score of the Chinese version of RASE was positively correlated (P<0.01).Exploratory factor analysis extracted a total of 8 common factors, which explained 68.55％of the total variance. The Cronbachαof the Chinese version of RASE was 0.901, and Cronbachαof each dimension ranged from 0.660 to 0.867;the retest reliability was 0.955 after 1 week, and ranged from 0.819 to 0.984 for each dimension;the split-half reliability coefficient was 0.848. Conclusion The Chinese version of RASE has good reliability and validity, which can be applied to the research of self-efficacy of patients with RA in China.
