1.Advances in Oral Venous Lakes.
Acta Academiae Medicinae Sinicae 2015;37(6):746-749
New advances have been pioneered in the pathogenesis, clinicopathological features, and treatment of oral venous lakes. It is concluded that oral venous lakes can be classified as a venous malformation, and multidisciplinary approaches (in particular the involvement of department of dermatology and department of ear, nose and throat) may be adopted to achieve better management of this disease.

The objective of this study was to explore the differences between refractory anemia with ringed sideroblast (RARS) and RARS associated with marked thrombocytosis (RARS-T) in the clinical, biological features and prognosis. The morphological changes of cells were observed by bone marrow smear and biopsy. Immunologic phenotype was analyzed by flow cytometry, and chromosome was examined by conventional chromosomal analysis. JAK2 V617F and MPL W515L mutations were screened by allele-specific polymerase chain reaction (AS-PCR) and sequence analysis. The results showed that this case was clinically diagnosed as RARS with thrombophilia, the level of serum potassium was positively related with platelet counts. When platelets increased, the clusters of atypical giant platelets and megakaryocytes were observed in peripheral blood and bone marrow examined by bone marrow smear and bone marrow biopsy respectively, JAK2 V617F and MPL W515L mutations were negative. It is concluded that RARS may transform into RARS-T accompanied with megakaryocyte proliferation, large atypical platelets and negative JAK2 V617F. Preventing thrombophilia and monitoring relative gene mutations are necessary when atypical giant platelets and fluctuant platelet counts occurred in process of RARS with tendency to RARS-T.

Objective This study aimed to comprehensively analyze and compare the clinicopathological features and prognosis of Chinese patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-low early breast cancer(BC)and HER2-IHC0 BC. Methods Patients diagnosed with HER2-negative BC(N=999)at our institution between January 2011 and December 2015 formed our study population.Clinicopathological characteristics, association between estrogen receptor(ER)expression and HER2-low,and evolution of HER2 immunohistochemical(IHC)score were assessed.Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank test were used to compare the long-term survival outcomes(5-year follow-up)between the HER2-IHC0 and HER2-low groups. Results HER2-low BC group tended to demonstrate high expression of ER and more progesterone receptor(PgR)positivity than HER2-IHC0 BC group(P<0.001).The rate of HER2-low status increased with increasing ER expression levels(Mantel-Haenszel χ2 test,P<0.001,Pearson's R=0.159,P<0.001).Survival analysis revealed a significantly longer overall survival(OS)in HER2-low BC group than in HER2-IHC0 group(P=0.007)in the whole cohort and the hormone receptor(HR)-negative group. There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of disease-free survival(DFS).The discordance rate of HER2 IHC scores between primary and metastatic sites was 36.84%. Conclusion HER2-low BC may not be regarded as a unique BC group in this population-based study due to similar clinicopathological features and prognostic roles.

OBJECTIVETo assess the efficacy and safety of Moluodan () in treating dysplasia in chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) patients.
METHODSThis was a multi-centered, double-blind, randomized controlled trial. The total of 196 subjects were assigned to receive either Moluodan or folic acid in a 2:1 ratio by blocked randomization. Mucosa marking targeting biopsy (MTB) was used to insure the accuracy and consistency between baseline and after 6-month treatment. Primary outcomes were histological score, response rate of pathological lesions and dysplasia disappearance rate. Secondary endpoints included gastroscopic findings, clinical symptom and patient reported outcome (PRO) instrument.
RESULTSDysplasia score decreased in Moluodan group (P =0.002), significance was found between groups (P =0.045). Dysplasia disappearance rates were 24.6% and 15.2% in Moluodan and folic acid groups respectively, no significant differences were found (P =0.127). The response rate of atrophy and intestinal metaplasia were 34.6% and 23.0% in Moluodan group, 24.3% and 13.6% in folic acid group. Moluodan could improve erythema (P =0.044), and bile reflux (P =0.059), no significance between groups. Moluodan was better than folic acid in improving epigastric pain, epigastric suffocation, belching and decreased appetite (P <0.05), with symptom disappearance rates of 37% to 83%.
CONCLUSIONSMoluodan improved dysplasia score in histopathology, and erythema and bile reflux score in endoscopy, and superior to folic acid in improving epigastric pain, epigastric suffocation, belching and decreased appetite. [ChiCTR-TRC-00000169].

Objective To investigate the oral health status and awareness of urban children in Lhasa, aiming to provide a data basis for the prevention and treatment of children's caries and the promotion of oral health education. Methods A total of 504 Tibetan students were selected by cluster sampling from 2 primary schools in Chengguan District of Lhasa. All the participants were required to take oral health examination and complete a questionnaire about oral health awareness and behavior. Results The caries prevalence rate and mean decayed-missing-filled tooth(DMFT)of permanent teeth were 75.00% and 2.18±1.91,respectively.The rates of pit and fissure sealant and filling of permanent teeth were 3.77% and 6.81%,respectively.The caries prevalence rate of first permanent molars was 47.62%.The mean DMFT of permanent teeth and caries prevalence rate of first permanent molar were significantly higher in female group(
