AIM: To study the effect of ?-amyloid protein (?-AP) and D-galactose(D-gal) on learning-memory and SOD activity and MDA content of hippocampus in rats. METHODS: The behaviors of rats were measured by using open field, Y-maze and one-trial passive avoidance response, and the content of SOD and MDA were measured. Objective:To study the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) at the Pericardium Meridian on the heart function of volunteers with acute hypoxia, and to provide scientific evidence for the acupoints selection along the affected meridian in acupuncture-moxibustion therapy. Methods:Based on a self-control design, eighteen healthy volunteers were recruited in the study. Points from the Pericardium Meridian [Neiguan (PC 6), Ximen (PC 4), Quze (PC 3) and Tianquan (PC 2)], non-Pericardium Meridian point [Shousanli (LI 10)], non-meridian and non-acupoint points [1.0-1.5 cm lateral to Neiguan (PC 6) and Ximen (PC 4), respectively on both sides], and a blank control (only inhaling low-oxygen gas without EA stimulation) were selected to observe, once every week, 10 sessions in total, and only 1 acupoint was observed once. The volunteers inhaled low-oxygen gas mixture (10.8% O2 and 89.2% N2) for 30 min to imitate acute hypoxia. EA was conducted when the gas mixture was inhaled for 10 min and then lasted for 20 min; meanwhile, hemodynamic indexes such as cardiac output (CO), cardiac index (CI), systemic vascular resistance (SVR), systemic vascular resistance index (SVRI), left cardiac work (LCW), left cardiac work index (LCWI) and heart rate (HR) were recorded on a hemodynamic monitor. Results:EA at the acupoints of Pericardium Meridian significantly down-regulated the increased CO/CI, LCW/LCWI, and HR (P<0.05), and significantly up-regulated the decreased SVR/SVRI in hypoxia (P<0.05); EA at other meridian acupoints or at non-meridian and non-acupoint points didn't produce such effects. Conclusion: EA at the Pericardium Meridian can obviously improve the cardiac hyper-activation caused by acute hypoxia in healthy volunteers.

Objective To analyze the relationship between clinical competence of baccalaureate nursing students and its potential related factors,and investigate the results of curriculum reform of 4-year nursing undergraduate education.Methods The records of 263 baccalaureate nursing graduates were retrieved.Variables including age,years of college education,sex,college entrance examination scores,average scores of basic courses,average scores of public courses and average scores of professional courses were collected.Clinical competence was measured by the clinical practice tests at various clinical units.The linear regression analysis was performed to find out the influencing factors of clinical competence.Results The clinical competence was significantly related to sex,average scores of public courses and average scores of professional courses(P

Objective To observe the behavior changes and synaptic reconstruction of brain and the impact of gastrodin in rats with epilepysy induced by pentylenetetrazole.Methods Fifty Wistar rats in growth(50-70 g) were randomly divided into 5 groups:control group,Pentylenetetrazole (PTZ) group,gastrodin high dose group,gastrodin low dose group and sodium valproate group,each group had 10 rats.According to Racine classification,the behavior changes of rats and the frequency were recorded.Conventional method was adopt to perfuse cordis, fix and extract the brain,and the immunohistochemistry was used to detect synaptophysin(P38) expression in the temporal lobe and hippocampus of the brain after 4 weeks.Results 1.Four weeks after pentylenetetrazole ignited the growth period rats,the attack-level of each experimental group through comparison with each other,there was statistically significant difference(?2=35.83 P0.05).Conclusions There are mossy fiber sprouting and the formation of synaptic reconstruction in temporal lobe and hippocampus of the growth period rats repea-tedly ignited by pentylenetetrazole.Gastrodin may play a role in the formation of antiepileptic obviously,and through decreasing the expression of P38,which can inhibit the formation of synaptic reconstruction,as control seizures indirectly.

Objective CD8 +T cells increased in the airway of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and exis -ted constantly .The aim was to investigate the role of CD 8 +T-cells in rats with chronic bronchitis ( CB) which was induced by cigarette smoking and intratracheal injection with lipopolysaccharide ( LPS) . Methods 18 health Wistar rats were radomly divided into sham smoking group(group A), CB group(group B) and N-acetylcysteine prevention group (group C).The rats in group B and group C re-ceived intratracheal injection with LPS twice and exposed to cigarette smoking for 4 weeks to induce CB model .The rats in Group C re-ceiving intragastric administration with N-acetylcysteine (NAC)(200mg/kg) before received LPS and smoking.Group A was the sham smoking group.The lung tissue of all rats were stained by HE then evaluated about pathological scores .The expression of nuclear fac-tor-κB (NF-κB), major histocompatibility complex class I (MHCI), CD8 +T cell and Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in airway were detected by immunohistochemisty which was stained by labeled streptavidin biotin method . Results The pathological scores of airway ( 10 .83 ±3 .31 ) in group B were higher than (1.17 ±2.40) in group A(P <0.05).The pathological scores of airway(4.66 ±2.25) in group C were less than (10.83 ±3.31) in group B(P <0.05).The expression of NF-κB(4.84), MHC I (2.48),CD8 +T cell(5.35)and VEGF(5.02) in airway increased in group B when compared with (1.18, 1.25, 1.33) and (1.18) in group A respectively(P <0.05).The expression of NF-κB (2.18), MHC I(1.46),CD8 +(2.35)and VEGF(2.02) in airway decreased in group C when compared with (4.84), MHC I(2.48),CD8 +T cell(5.35)and VEGF(5.02) in group B respectively (P<0.05 ). There were positive correlations between the expression of NF-κB, MHC I and CD8 +T cells in airways(r=0.670, r=0.701, respec-tively, all P<0.01).There were positive correlations between the expression of CD 8 +T cells and VEGF the pathological scores of air-ways(r=0.689, r=0.782, respectively, all P<0.01). Conclusion NAC can inhibit airway inflammation which is regulated by CD8 +T-cells and VEGF through suppressing the expression of NF -κB and MHC I.

ObjectiveTo analyze the clinical characteristics and treatment of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).MethodsDuring epidemic period of SARS,all suspected patients were isolated and treated at very early stage. Clinical symptoms, signs and changes of the chest film were observed carefully to make early diagnosis and begin early intervention. 14 SARS cases with definite diagnosis were treated by Western Medicine combined with Chinese Traditional Medicine.3 cases of them with severe type were treated by timely technical ventilation,which was nasotracheal intubition guided with fibronchoscope,with the principle of low tide volume and high PEEP to improve oxygen combination.ResultsAll patients were cured to discharge. Only two cases of mild pulmonary fibrosis were found after 2 months' follow-up. None of the medical workers taking part in rescuing and treating SARS patients and none of the family members of the patients were infected.ConclusionDuring SARS epidemic period,early isolation,early diagnosis,early combined treatment of Western Medicine and Chinese Traditional Medicine,and prompt technical ventilation intervention on severe cases are important factors to successfully rescue and treat SARS patients.

RNA has received more attention in the field of forensic medicine and the development of the new biological markers based on RNA shows great significance in the analysis of complex cases. circular RNA (circRNA) is a kind of non-coding RNA which is widely reported recently. Although the regulatory mechanisms of generation and expression are not fully clear, the existing research indicates that circRNA has important biological functions. CircRNA has a cell-type-specific expression with great stability and a high expression level, which makes it meaningful in forensic applications potentially. In this paper, the research progress, the generation and regulation of circRNA as well as its biological characteristics and functions are summarized, which will provide references for related studies and forensic applications.
