Objective To investigate the curative effect of brucellar spondylitis,so as to provide scientific proof for improving the curative level of the disease.Methods Epidemiological information was collected from 113 patients diagnosed as brucellar spondylitis,who were divided into 5 groups according to different drugs and drug combinations of doxycycline,gentamicin,sulfamethoxazole and rifampicin.Then the curative effect was investigated.Twenty-one patients who had greater paoas muscle abscess or Para vertebral abscess,intraspinal abscess of spinal canal,necrotic intervertebral disk and major osteolasia received the minimal invasive surgery and the focus removal surgery.Results The occurrence of the disease in female was much higher than that in male.Grazing and breeding beasts was the principal route of infection.Lumbars was mostly involved.they usually was infected in the adjacent 2 piece.L4 was the most common and seriuous one.The curative effect of doxycycline group was better than that without doxycycline(72.60% vs 35.00%,X2=15.14,P＜0.05).Doxycyeline+gentamicin+sulfamethoxazole was reeommended as the first choice.However,the curative effect did not increase despi~course of the treatment prolonged.The heMing rate and effective rate after 1 course was 52.21%(59/113)and 92.04%(104/113).that after 2 courses 58.41%(66/113)and 95.58%(108/113),that after 3 courses 59.29%(67/113)and 95.58%(108/113).The healing rate in different course did not present differences(P＞0.05).21 patients undergoing surgery were followed-up,12 patients were after 2 years and 9 patients were between 1-2 years.The healing rate was 95.24%(20/21),1 case was healed basically,the effective rate was 100%.None reoccurred.Conclusions There are characterized features in clinical epidemiology of the brucell spondylitis.Long term,adequate in dosage,combination and multi-approach use of antibiotics is the most reliable way to treat and prevent it from recurring.But fof the patients soitable for surgery.the minimal invasive surgery or the focus removal could shorten the course of therapy,decrease the complications and increase the cure rate.

OBJECTIVETo explore the mechanism of cell proliferation inhibition by transfecting phosphatidylethanolamine N-methyltransferase 2 gene (PEMT2).

METHODSThe expression and translocation of different isoforms of protein kinase C (PKC) in cells were observed with immunocytochemistry and Western blot techniques. The content of diacylglycerol (DAG) was analyzed with high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) technique.

RESULTSTransfection of PEMT2 can inhibit the expression of cPKC alpha, but obviously promotes the expression and translocation from cytosol to plasma membrane of cPKC beta2. At the same time, the content of DAG was decreased in the transfected cells. Expression and translocation of other PKC isoforms were not changed by PEMT2 transfection.

CONCLUSIONEffects of overexpression of PEMT2 on the expression and translocation of different PKC isoforms might be related to the mechanism of cell proliferation inhibition and apoptosis induced by transfecting PEMT2.

OBJECTIVETo analyze CD21 expression in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and to explore its relationship with the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis.

METHODSThe clinical data from 80 DLBCL patients who were treated in First Hospital of Jilin University from June 2005 to September 2011 were retrospectively analyzed. The cases were subjected to immunohistochemical staining (SP method) for Ki-67, CD20, CD79a, CD3, CD43, CD5, cyclin D1, bcl-2, CD10, bcl-6, GCET-1, FOXP-1 and MUM-1 protein expression in the tumor tissue. Immunohistochemistry was also used to detect CD21 expression in the tumor tissue. SPSS 18.0 was used to analyze the relationship between CD21 expression and various clinical factors, and the relationship between various clinical factors including CD21 and overall survival.

RESULTSIn the patients aged under 60 years, the incidence of CD21(+) lymphoma (64.0%, 16/25) was significantly higher than that of CD21(-) lymphoma (38.2%, 21/55). There were more CD21(+) lymphoma patients who were at clinical stages I-II (52.0%, 13/25) than patients with CD21(-)lymphomas (23.6%, 13/55). There were also more CD21(+) lymphoma patients (68.0%, 17/25) having less than two extranodal sites involvement than CD21(-)lymphoma patients (41.8%, 23/55). In addition, there were more CD21(+) lymphoma patients with IPI 0-2 (68.0%, 17/25) than CD21(-)lymphoma patients (41.8%, 23/55). There were more CD21(+) lymphoma patients with GCB subtype (60.0%, 15/25) than CD21(-)lymphoma patients (23.6%, 13/55). Death related to DLBCL was less in CD21(+) lymphoma patients (32.0%, 8/25) than CD21(-) lymphoma patients (56.4%, 31/55). Univariate analysis showed that these clinical pathological characteristics affected the overall survival of DLBCL patients, including age, ECOG score, LDH, extranodal involvement, IPI index, CD21 expression, treatment option and efficacy (P < 0.05) . Cox multivariate analysis showed that ECOG score, LDH, extranodal involvement, CD21 expression were closely related to prognosis, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Among the 80 patients, the overall survival (OS) of CD21(+) lymphoma patients was significantly higher than that of CD21(-) lymphoma patients.

CONCLUSIONSThe expression of CD21 is associated with young age at onset, early clinical stage, small number of involvement and low IPI index. The OS and median overall survival of CD21(+) lymphoma patients are significantly higher than those of CD21(-) patients. CD21 expression, ECOG score, LDH, extranodal involvement are independent prognostic factors in DLBCL, and in particular, the expression of CD21 is more significant in the prognosis of DLBCL patients.

Objective:To study the characteristics and influencing factors of coping styles of clinical ophthalmic interns under psychological stress, so as to provide scientific basis for promoting the mental health development of medical students.Methods:In 2019, 103 students of Sun Yat-sen University who participated in clinical practice of ophthalmology were investigated by cluster sampling with general situation questionnaire and simple coping style questionnaire. The database was established by Epidata, and the data was statistically analyzed by SPSS 25.0 software.Results:The scores of positive coping and negative coping were (1.70±0.10) and (1.30±0.05) respectively, which were all lower than the norm ( P < 0.001). The scores of non first time practice students were 0.087 points higher than those of first time practice students; the scores of eight-year students were 0.124 points higher than those of five-year students; the scores of positive coping increased by 0.015 points for each level of family income increase. Men scored 0.027 points higher than women in negative coping scores; eight-year students scored 0.053 points lower than five-year students in negative coping scores; family income increased by one grade, negative coping scores decreased by 0.017 points; rural registered residence students scored 0.035 points higher than urban registered residence students in negative coping scores; non first practice students scored 0.074 points higher than the first practice students in negative coping scores. Conclusion:Educators should pay close attention to the coping styles of clinical ophthalmic interns, carry out mental health education and guidance of coping methods according to the characteristics of different groups, take effective measures to improve students' stress coping ability and promote the smooth development of clinical practice in ophthalmology.

OBJECTIVE: To establish standardized methods and parameters of the isolated heart coronary angiography through the experiment of in vitro porcine heart by MSCT. METHODS: Based on different perfusion volume (50, 60 and 70 mL) and different perfusion-imaging time (5, 10 and 20 min), the in vitro porcine coronary artery was injected liposoluble and water-soluble contrast agents using remodel angiography equipment and scanned by MSCT. And the 3D image results were compared. The images were recorded and evaluated by 2 radiologists and analyzed by statistical software. RESULTS: Liposoluble contrast agent affected the images by damaging and infiltrating the fats around the coronary artery, while the water-soluble contrast agent didn't affect the images. The groups with 60 mL or 70 mL perfusion and 5 min perfusion-imaging time had the best images. CONCLUSION The suitable parameters of the angiography lay the foundation of postmortem coronary angiography.

Objective: To explore the current situation and related factors of AIDS discrimination among junior medical students in Jiangxi Province, so as to provide a reference for effective AIDS anti discrimination intervention measures in medical colleges. Methods: Using a convenience sampling approach, 2 484 medical students were selected from five universities in Jiangxi Province from July to August 2023. An anonymous survey was conducted using a general information questionnaire, a AIDS knowledge questionnaire, and the Chinese version of Zelaya s AIDS Stigma Scale. Independent sample t-tests and analysis of variance were carried out to analyze the level of AIDS discrimination among medical students with different characteristics. Multiple stepwise regression analysis was performed to identify the related factors of AIDS discrimination. Results: The total score of AIDS discrimination among medical students was (2.55±0.67). The dimension with the highest score was fear of contracting the disease (2.89±1.01). The results of the multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that the factors related to AIDS discrimination included gender ( β = -0.17 ), grade ( β =-0.08), being an only child or not ( β =-0.04), whether knowing about AIDS knowledge or not ( β =0.22), willingness to use condoms during sexual activity ( β =0.07), willingness to participate in school sexual health knowledge based activities ( β =0.05) and the perceived importance of selfhealth ( β =0.11) ( P <0.05). Conclusions AIDS discrimination is prevalent among junior medical students in Jiangxi Province. Efforts should be undertaken to enhance humanistic education and relevant knowledge dissemination among junior medical students to reduce the level of AIDS discrimination.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the changes in the activity of Escherichia coli asparaginase (L-asp) and the concentration of asparagines (ASN) in the plasma of the acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) children receiving L-asp containing chemotherapeutic protocol to explore more reasonable usage of L-asp in the treatment of childhood ALL.

METHODSL-asp containing hemotherapy regimen of VDLP was used, in which L-asp (10,000 U/m(2)) was administered intravenously every other day for 10 doses in 15 children with ALL. A total of 340 peripheral blood samples were collected at scheduled time points during the therapy and plasma L-asp activity (by spectrophotometric assay) and asparagines concentration (by RP-HPLC) were measured.

RESULTSDuring the administration of L-asp, the plasma L-asp activity was increasing gradually peaked after eight doses and then decreased gradually, while the plasma concentration of asparagines maintained in complete or nearly complete depletion status. After the therapy courses finished, a plasma L-asp activity above 100 U/L with asparagines almost complete depletion status was lasting for about seven days.

CONCLUSIONThe current L-asp containing chemotherapeutic protocols in which L-asp was administered in a dose of 10 000/m(2) intravenously every other day, are efficient enough for the depletion of plasma ASN.

Two giant pandas (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) died of unknown causes in a Chinese zoo. The clinical disease profile suggested that the pandas may have suffered a viral infection. Therefore, a series of detection including virus isolation, electron microscopy, cytobiological assay, serum neutralization and RT-PCR were used to identify the virus. It was determined that the isolated virus was a canine coronavirus (CCV), on the basis of coronavirus, neutralization by canine anti-CCV serum, and 84.3% to 100% amino acid sequence similarity with CCV. The results suggest that the affected pandas had been infected with CCV.

OBJECTIVEThe ratio of psychological to organic ED changes with aging. This study aimed to analyze the results of nocturnal electrobioimpedance volumetric assessment (NEVA) for ED patients of different age groups and their significance in the diagnosis of ED.

METHODSA total of 83 ED patients were divided into 4 age groups (< or = 29 yr, 30 -39 yr, 40 -49 yr and > or = 50 yr) and detected for nocturnal penile tumescence (NPT) by NEVA.

RESULTSThirty-four of the cases were diagnosed as organic ED, and the other 49 as psychological ED. With the increase of age, the former was increased from 30.3% in the < or = 29 yr group to 60.0% in the > or = 50 yr group, while the latter decreased from 69.7% to 40.0%.

CONCLUSIONThe percentage of organic ED tends to grow with the increase of age, while that of psychological ED is just the opposite.
