1.Theory and Practice on Construction of TCM Jaundice Thematic Database
World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2013;(5):848-851
The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) literature database of jaundice is an important means of the realization of the standardization and digitalization of TCM liver disease syndrome differentiation and treatment.
This article analyzed the background of jaundice literature database and its establishment and significance . The building of TCM jaundice database was described in this paper from literature data source, TCM jaundice the-saurus, literature collection and analysis. A brief introduction was made on contents of the database and the function. Deficiencies of the literature database such as the standardization, quality, daily maintenance, talent and team training were also explained .

Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2011;29(2):97-100
Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a hereditary disease characterized by the progressive loss of photoreceptor cells. Disease pathology primarily affects rod photoreceptor cells first but light-insensitive cone photoreceptor bodies can survivor longer. Delivered by adeno-associated viral vector or lentiviral vector, expression of microbial-type rhodopsin, channelrhodopsin-2 or archaebacterial halorhodopsin in the survived retinal cells can substitute for the native phototransduction cascade in mouse models of retinitis pigmentosa. It can also restore light sensitivity and activate all retinal cone pathways and drive sophisticated retinal circuit functions. Thus, expression of channelrhodopsins or halorhodopsin might be a potential strategy for the restoration vision of patients with RP.

Methods: The constituents were isolated by various chromatographies, including preparative TLC, silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, and ODS columns, and their structures were elucidated on the basis of their physicochemical properties and spectral data. Results: Eleven compounds were isolated from 70% EtOH fraction eluted from resin column and their structures were identified as gastrodin (1), 4-hydroxybenzyl alcohol (2), 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (3), 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde (4), 4-hydroxybenz-yl methyl ether (5), parishin (6), 4-(methylsulfinylmethyl) phenol (7), dibutyl phthalate (8), dioctyl phthalate (9), 4, 4'-dihydroxydiphenyl methane (10), and grossamide (11). Conclusion: Compound 7 is a new natural product, and compounds 9 and 11 are isolated from the plants of Orchidacee for the first time.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(08):-
Objective To observe the curative effect of botulinum toxin A(BTX-A)repeated intramuscular injection for treatment of serious spastic cerebral palsy. Methods Thirty cases with serious spastic cerebral palsy received local repeated intramuscular injection. The interval time was 3 months. The dose of BTX-A was 4 U/kg.The muscle tone was assessed with the modified ashworth scale and range of motion with physical rating scale(PRS).The indexes were evaluated before injection and 3 months after the second injection. Paired-samples t-test was used in the statistic analysis.Result The muscle tone and PRS had remarkable improvement after second therapy with BTX-A(P

Objective To study the characteristics of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of insulin dry powder inhalation and its relative bioavailability as compared with subcutaneous injection of regular insulin. Methods In this open,single-center,randomized,two-period,cross-over,euglycemic glucose clamp study,18 healthy volunteers(14 men and 4 women),aged(24.9?1.7)years,with body mass index(20.6?1.2)kg/m~2, received the insulin dry powder inhalatin(80 U)or regular insulin(15 U)subcutaneous administration. The blood samples of this study at 0,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100,110,120,135,150,165,180,195, 210,225,240,270,300,330,360,390,420,450 and 480 rain were taken for serum insulin measurement, meanwhile, glucose infusion rates(GIR)were determined per 5 minutes over a period of 8 hours. Results The C_(max)were(57.9?17.8 vs 114.5?29.7)mU/L(tested vs reference preparation),T_(max)were(46.7?45.6 vs 107.8?33.7)min,GIR_(max)were(3.35?0.98 vs 5.17?1.75)mg?kg~(-1)?min~(-1)and T_(GIRmax)were(88.3?17.0 vs 151.9?34.6)min.The relative bioavailability was(10.26?2.25)%,and the relative bioefficacy was(14.33?7.26)%.Conclusion The study shows that insulin dry powder inhalation is absorbed via lungs and its action sets in earlier than that of the regular insulin injected subcutaneously. These pharmacokinetie and pharmacodynamic data may provide a reliabe guide for further clinical trial.

Background5-Nitro-2-(3-styrene-acrylic amine) benzoic acid ( NPPB),a chloride channel inhibitor, has a promoting effect on cell apoptosis in myocardial ischemia and reperfusion of domestic rabbit. The CIC chloride channel has been found in the ocular trabecular cells. However, the effect of NPPB on the shape and function of trabecular cells is unclear. Objective This study was performed to investigate the effect of NPPB on the proliferation, cell cycle progression and apoptosis of human trabecular meshwork cells.MethodsThe immortalized human trabcular cell strain was cultured, and logarithmic-phase cells were incubated in 96-well plates at a density of 1 ×106/ml.Different concentrations of NPPB (10,50,100 μ mol/L) were added to the medium, and the MTT assay was used to assess the growth and proliferation of the cells.Flow cytometry was used to evaluate the cell cycle.Then,100 mg/L 5-FU or 100 mg/L 5-FU + 100 μmol/L NPPB was used to induce cell apoptosis, which was assessed by Annexin V-PI.The membrane potential of mitochondria was examined using rhodamine 123 (△ψm).Results After 48 hours of treatment with NPPB,the abosorbency (A value) of the cells was gradually lowered with the increasing dose of NPPB,with significant differences among the 4 groups (F =7.230,P =0.006).Compared with the 10 μmol/L NPPB group, the A values were significantly declined in the 50 and 100 μmol/L NPPB groups (t =1.610,P =0.025 ;t =12.270,P =0.001 ).Forty-eight hours after exposure to NPPB,the percentage of cells in G0/G1 phase was increased and that in the S phase was decreased. The percentages of cells in different phases of cell cycle were significantly different in comparison with their control groups (without NPPB)( P<0.05 ).Twenty-four and 48 hours after the treatment with 100 mg/L 5-FU,the apoptosis rates of the cells were raised in the 100 mg/L 5-FU group and 100 mg/L 5-FU + 100 μmol/L NPPB group compared to the without NPPB group (t24h =2.130,P =0.023;t48h =4.810,P=0.011 ) ;while that in the 100 mg/L 5-FU+100 μmol/L NPPB group was higher than the 100 mg/L 5-FU group ( t24 h =1.980,P =0.037 ; t48 h =1.290,P =0.028 ),and the mitochondrial membrane potential was lowered ( t24h =1.580,P =0.029 ; F48 h =6.200,P =0.015 ).Conclusions NPPB suppresses the proliferation of human trabecular cells and promotes the cells to enter S phase via the G1/S check point. In addition,ClC might be involved in an anti-apoptosis mechanism through the internal mitochondrial pathway.

There is no a systemic performance metrics for clinical data management. While the CDMC in China starts to develop the quality metrics for clinical data management, it is essential to think over the performance and pursue metrics implementation of clinical data management in China. This article provides the basic concept, development and implementation of the performance metric in clinical data management.
