95%).Strains of PNSP were significantly more common than those PSSP(72.56% vs 22.72%),and strains of Sp resistant to erythromycin were significantly more common than susceptible to erythromycin too(94.42% vs 0.88%).Conclusions The antimicrobial resistance of Sp from children with lower respiratory tract infection in Wenzhou area has became a severe problem.Multi-drug resistance of Sp has been observed to chlorodeoxylincomycin, erythromycin, tetracycline and so on.The results will provide some important information for the therapy and the choice of antibiotics of Sp infection.

ObjectiveTo observe the protective effect of tetrahydroxystilbene glucoside (TSG) on rats' hippocampal neuronal damage induced by glutamate (Glu) in the culture.MethodsHippocampus was isolated from newborn SD rats and dispersedly cultured in the medium for 9 days. Neurons were incubated with TSG (5—100μmol/L) for 24h, the cells were washed twice with Lock's solution without Mg2+,then Glu 500 μmol/L was added. Thirty min later, the reaction was terminated by washing the monolayer cells twice with the Lock's solution and then cultures were kept at 37℃ for 24h. Cell viability was measured by MTT method and cell membrane damage was determined by LDH leakage; with Fluo-3/AM as an intracellular calcium indicator and added into the bathing medium, fluorescent intensity of intracellular free calcium were observed through laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM).ResultsAfter the treatment with 5—100μmol/L TSG for 24h, the decrease of cell viability and the increase of LDH leakage caused by Glu was obviously resisted dose dependently. TSG inhibited increase of Ca2+ in cytoplasm, compared with model group.ConclusionTSG can significantly promote the cell viability and reduce the cell membrane damage in Glu treating hippocampal neurons. The neuroprotective activities of TGS is mediated by inhibiting Ca2+ overload in cytoplasm.

Objective To explore the feasibility of detecting death-associated protein(DAP) kinase promoter hypermethylation in the tumor tissues and plasma of patients with gastric adenocarcino- ma,and to evaluate the effect of DNA hypermethylation and autofluroscene spectrums of gastric juice on diagnosing gastric carcinoma. Methods Primary tumor tissues and plasma and gastric juice of 50 patients with gastric adenocarcinoma were collected.Gastric mucosa tissue, plasma and gastric juice of 20 patients with chronic superficial gastritis and 20 patients with benign gastric ulcer and 30 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis were collected as controls. After sodium-bisulfite treatment, extracted DNA was amplified for DAP kinase promoter hypermethylation by methylation-specific polymerase chain reac- tion.At the same time the gastric juice autofluroscene spectrums(the excitation wavelength was 288 nm,whereas the range of emission wavelength was 300-800 nm)were detected. Results Among the samples from 50 patients,p16 and DAP kinase hypermethylation were detected in 74.4% and 68.1% of tumor tissues,52.0% and 58.0% of plasma,58.6% and 76.0% of gastric juice. No hypermethylation was detected in samples of chronic superficial gastritis and serum of patients with gastric ulcer.Among the patients with gastric ulcer,p16 and DAP kinase hypermethylation were detected in 10.0% and 20.0% of tissues,5.0% and 15.0% of gastric juice.Among the samples from 30 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis,p16 and DAP kinase were detected in 10.0% and 23.3% of tissues,3.3% and 3.3% of sera,3.3% and 20.0% of gastric juice. The intensity of gastric juice autofluroscence spectrums of patients with gastric carcinoma was much higher than those in controls. The sensitivity of p16 and DAP kinase hypermethylation and autofluorescence spectrums together were 95.6% and 97.8% respectively.Con- clusions Promoter hypermethylation of the p16 and DAP kinase gene detected in plasma and gastric juice consists with that in primary tumor tissues of patients with gastric adenocarcinoma. The combination of DNA hypermethylation and autofluorescence spectrum has a good future in diagnosing gastric carcinoma.

Objective To observe the changes of the intercellular spaces of squamous epithelium of lower esophagus in gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD).Methods Eleven outpatients with GERD symptoms more than 3 months [6 with nonerosive reflex disease(NERD)and 5 with erosive esophagitis(EE)]and 5 healthy volunteers were recruited. All of them underwent endoscopy and 24-hr ambulatory pH monitoring.Biopsies were taken in lower esophagus(2 cm above Z-line)for electron microscope examination. Results Intercellular spaces of esophageal epithelial cell in volun teers,NERD patients and EE patients were (0.374?0.073)?m,(1.308?0.079)?m and (1.332?0.144)?m respectively, with significant differences between the control group and the NERD or EE group. There was no difference between NERD group and EE group. Conclusions Dilated intercellular spaces were seen in both NERD and EE cases, which was significantly different from the control cases.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(13):-
Objective To identify the arteriosclerosis (AS)changes in peripheral artery and abdominal aorta of patients with familial hypercholesterolemia(FH) during follow-up.Methods Seventeen patients of 6 FH [5 male and 12 female with average age of (16.12?6.65) years old],along with 17 subjects of matching sexes and ages with normal blood cholesterol as healthy control group, underwent examination by color doppler ultrasound, and changes of intima-media thickness (IMT) in peripheral artery and abdominal aorta, severity of stenosis, morphology, and function were observed. Results For 17 patients of FH,the total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) in serum were higher significantly and high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) was lower significantly than those in healthy control group(Pa0.05).The IMT of carotid aorta, subclavicular aorta, common abdominal artery, and common femoral artery in 13 patients were showing various degrees of increase, yielding an average of 2.9 mm.As patients aged, this phenomenon was reported to be more profound in common abdominal aorta and femoral artery. Conclusions Patients of FH show AS lesion in early stage and it worsened as they aged, from carotid arteries to common abdominal aorta and femoral artery.Color doppler ultrasound can be a non-invasive examination for monitoring the progress of AS in blood vessels in patients of diagnosed FH.

Objective To investigate the change of cardiac function in elderly hypertensive patients with heart valve degenerative by echocardiography. Methods A total of 126 cases were divided into a valve disease group and non-valve disease group groups. The parameters of trial size, cardiac function and pulmonary artery pressure were detected. Results Of all 126 cases were the patients with hypertension including 28.6% (36/126) of valve disease group and 71.4% (90/126) of non-valve disease. There were 31 cases with mitral valve disease,22 cases with tricuspid valve disease; 26 cases with aortic valve disease; 36 cases with double or three alvular lesions in valve disease group. There was a significant difference in ventricle size and systolic function among valve disease group and non-valve disease group and control group. But there was no significant difference in thickness of ventricular wall between valve disease group and non-valve disease group. Conclusion The elderly hypertensive patient with valve disease was an independent factor for the development of congestive heart failure.
