1.Role of autologous myoblast transplantation in endplate regeneration and neuromuscular function restoration after direct nerve implantation in rats
Chinese Journal of Trauma 2012;28(9):849-853
Objective To observe the effects of autologous myoblast transplantation on endplate regeneration and neuromuscular function restoration following direct nerve implantation (DNI) in rats so as to offer experimental basis for the use of myoblasts in neural regeneration area and further lay foundation for the research using myoblasts as transgenic carriers. Methods A total of 20 male SD rats were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 10 rats in each group.Models of DNI in rat gastrocnemius were established. The experimental group was injected with primarily cultured autologous myoblasts to the DNI location, while the control group was injected with isometric medium without autologous myoblasts. The effects of myoblasts on the neuromuscular function recovery following DNI were studied by detecting the tibial functional index (FTI),neuro-electrophysiology and pathohistology. Results The experimental group displayed faster tibial nerve function recovery than the control group (P < 0.01 ).The peak to peak value (PPV) of gastrocnemius neuro-electrophysiology,area under the curve and regenerated endplate number of the experimental group had statistical significances as compared with the control group ( P < 0.01 ). Conclusion Myoblast autotransplantation accelerates the recoveryof neuromuscular function after rat DNI and increases the number of the regenerated endplates.
3.Analysis of coronary flow reserve of myocardial bridging in the left anterior descending by coronary flow imaging
Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2008;17(10):829-832
Objective To evaluate the accuracy of coronary flow velocity reserve(CFVR) measured by color Doppler coronary flow imaging(CFI) in the patients with myocardial bridging(MB) of the left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery and to analyze coronary hemodynamic changes and clinical significance of the LAD MB. Methods Consecutive 110 patients with suspected or known coronary disease were examinated by coronary angiography(CA), coronary intravascular ultrasound(IVUS) and intracoronary Doppler(ICD). Of these patients, 11 cases were diagnosed as MB of LAD. The LAD flow were measured by CFI at baseline and hyperemic conditions (intravenous administration of adenosine 140 μg·kg-·min-)and CFVR were calculated. Compared with the measurements of ICD, the accuracy of CFI was analyzed. Nine normal cases served as control group. Results The prevalence of MB was 10% in this study. Seven eases presented with stable angina. MB located in the middle segment of LAD in 7 cases and in the middle-distal segment of LAD in 2 cases. The ratio of LAD stenosis was greater than 80% in 2 cases, one of them simultaneously combined with circumflex stenosis(90 %). CA showed no significant stenosis in 9 cases (MB group) in the LAD and IVUS showed no plaque. Flow velocities were measured by CFI in the middle-distal LAD in nine patients without significant stenosis. CFVR calculated by average peak velocity well correlated with those measured by ICD (regression equation: Y=0.87 X+0.39; correlation coefficient: r=0.81,P<0.01). The coronary flow velocities in hyperemic conditions were significantly lower in MB group than in control group. CFVR were also significantly lower in MB group than in control group. Conclusions CFI is an accurate method for assessment of CFVR. Decreased CFVR of patients with MB may be one of the causes of angina pectoris.

6.ASSOCIATION OF ?-SCA, ?-SMA AND DESMIN WITH THE MYOCARDIAL MATURATION OF THE EMBRYONIC MOUSE HEART
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1957;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the spatiotemporal expression patterns and the relationship of ?-sarcomeric actin(?-SCA),?-smooth muscle actin(?-SMA) and intermediate filament protein desmin with the maturation of the prenatal and the neonatal mouse hearts. Methods Serial sections of the embryo mouse and the neonatal mouse hearts were immunostained with antibodies against ?-SCA,?-SMA and desmin. Results Ventricle and outflow tract of embryonic day(ED) 9 heart showed stronger expression of ?-SCA and ?-SMA,but desmin expression was lower. In the atrium, the expressions of ?-SCA and ?-SMA were restricted to the dorsal and ventral walls. In the sinus venosus, only a few weakly stained ?-SCA positive cells were detected. No desmin expression was found in the atrium and sinus venosus. The expressions of ?-SCA,?-SMA and desmin were increased to their highest level at ED 12.The higher expression of ?-SCA remained to the postnatal stages. After ED 12,the expressions of ?-SMA and desmin gradually decreased in different parts of the heart, but their expressions in the right ventricle persisted longer. After birth, desmin expression was mainly concentrated in the Z lines of I bands and intercalated disks. Conclusion The presence of spatiotemporal differences in the expression of ?-SMA and desmin reveals regional differences in cardiomyocyte maturation in various parts of the embryonic mouse heart. The right ventricle shows a relatively slow pace of maturation. The ?-SMA may contribute to a peristaltoid contraction pattern of the embryonic myocardium with a slow shortening speed, and a relatively higher level of desmin is required for the maturation of the sarcomere.
7.Data analysis of iodine level in iodized salt from monitoring sites in Qinghai province in 2010
Chinese Journal of Endemiology 2011;30(6):660-662
Objective To analyze coverage rote and quality of edible salt in Qinghai province, and to provided scientific basis for the prevention of iodine deficiency disorders. Methods According to the sampling and detection methods in the National Iodine Deficiency Disorders Monitoring Program(Trial),37 counties(cities, districts) were randomly selected in 2010.Twenty percent of the 37 counties(cities, districts),that was 6 counties (cities) were selected as key sites for monitoring of iodized salt.Quantitative determination of salt iodine was done by direct titration method(GB/T 13025.7-1999) in random monitoring, and semi-quantitative assay was used to monitor salt iodine in key sampling. Results A total of 10999 edible salt samples were tested.Among them,10525 were qualified iodized salt,269 unqualified iodized salt, and 205 non-iodized salt. The coverage rate of iodized salt was 98.14%(10794/10999),the rate of qualified iodized salt was 97.51%(10525/10794),the rate of edible qualified iodized salt was 95.69% (10525/10999),and the rate of non-iodized salt was 1.86% (205/10999).In the 6 key monitoring counties, salt samples of 1800 were tested.Among them,1712 were qualified iodized salt,88 non-iodized salt, and the coverage rate of iodized salt was 95.11%(1712/1800),and the rate of non-iodized salt was 4.89%(88/1800).The rates of non-iodized salt in Geermu city,Wulan county, and Jiuzhi county were 10.00% (30/300),6.33%(19/300),5.33%(16/300),respectively.Conclusions Despite remarkable progress has been made in control of iodine deficiency disorders in Qinghai province, there are still some problems in some areas. We should establish law enforcement agencies of iodized salt and perfect sales network, perfect iodized salt network management, and strengthening health education.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(5):759-764
Stroke is one of the major diseases that threaten human health, early diagnosis and treatment are very important for stroke. Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) is measured noninvasively to diagnosis stroke, and it is a independent predictor for stroke because its thickening can timely predict the incidence and development of stroke. As an important predictor of cardiovascular disease, more and more attention is played on CIMT. In this review, we will make a summary on the important role of CIMT in stroke and the mechanisms of carotid intima-media thickening in stroke as well as the potential use of traditional Chinese medicine in treating carotid intima-media thickening.
