Mild-symptom erectile dysfunction (MSED) is commonly seen in clinical practice, but receives inadequate attention from both the patients and clinicians. Increasing researches have indicated that MSED is associated with not only unhealthy living habits and psychological factors but also the early progression of endothelial, metabolic and endocrine diseases. The diagnosis and treatment of MSED should be based on the relevant guidelines, with consideration of both its specific and common features. The therapeutic principle is a combination of integrated and individual solutions aimed at the causes of the disease. Drug intervention should be initiated if psychological therapy fails. Negligence of MSED may affect the quality of life of the patients and their partners, and what's more, might delay the management of some other severe underlying diseases. Adequate attention to the early diagnosis and treatment for MSED is of great significance for a deeper insight into the etiology of ED, the prevention of potential cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, and the improvement of the overall health of males.

Objective:To study the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) at the Pericardium Meridian on the heart function of volunteers with acute hypoxia, and to provide scientific evidence for the acupoints selection along the affected meridian in acupuncture-moxibustion therapy. Methods:Based on a self-control design, eighteen healthy volunteers were recruited in the study. Points from the Pericardium Meridian [Neiguan (PC 6), Ximen (PC 4), Quze (PC 3) and Tianquan (PC 2)], non-Pericardium Meridian point [Shousanli (LI 10)], non-meridian and non-acupoint points [1.0-1.5 cm lateral to Neiguan (PC 6) and Ximen (PC 4), respectively on both sides], and a blank control (only inhaling low-oxygen gas without EA stimulation) were selected to observe, once every week, 10 sessions in total, and only 1 acupoint was observed once. The volunteers inhaled low-oxygen gas mixture (10.8% O2 and 89.2% N2) for 30 min to imitate acute hypoxia. EA was conducted when the gas mixture was inhaled for 10 min and then lasted for 20 min; meanwhile, hemodynamic indexes such as cardiac output (CO), cardiac index (CI), systemic vascular resistance (SVR), systemic vascular resistance index (SVRI), left cardiac work (LCW), left cardiac work index (LCWI) and heart rate (HR) were recorded on a hemodynamic monitor. Results:EA at the acupoints of Pericardium Meridian significantly down-regulated the increased CO/CI, LCW/LCWI, and HR (P<0.05), and significantly up-regulated the decreased SVR/SVRI in hypoxia (P<0.05); EA at other meridian acupoints or at non-meridian and non-acupoint points didn't produce such effects. Conclusion: EA at the Pericardium Meridian can obviously improve the cardiac hyper-activation caused by acute hypoxia in healthy volunteers.

0.05).Setting the threshold of MOV at 6.4 cm~3 offered the best compromise between sensitivity (84.8%)and specificity(87.5%),and setting the threshold of MaxOV at 8.6 cm~3 offered the best compromise between sensitivity(75.8%)and specificity(95.2%)and setting the threshold of MFN at 8 offered the best compromise between sensitivity(86.7%)and specificity(78.3%).Conclusions Ovarian morphology by ultrasonography yields satisfactory diagnostic accuracy for adolescent PCOS.Taking MOV≥ 6.4 cm~3 or MaxOV≥8.6 cm~3 or MFN≥8 as an ultraphonic criterion for pubertal PCOS offer the best compromise between sensitivity and specificity.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2015;21(7):838-840
Objective To apply MR diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to quantitatively analyze cervical spinal cord injury without radiographic abnormality (CSCIWORA). Methods 15 patients with CSCIWORA and 20 healthy controls were scanned with MRI of conventional scans and DTI. The fractional anisotropy (FA) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) were measured. Results FA and ADC of the patients were (0.475±0.109) and (1.438±0.252)×10-3 mm2/s, respectively. Whereas, they were (0.604±0.096) and (1.371±0.280)×10-3 mm2/s in the controls. Compared with the controls, the FA was less (P<0.05) in the patients, but the ADC was not significantly different (P=0.267). The fiber tracking (FT) showed the abnormality of white matter fiber tracts of cervical spinal cord in the patients. Conclusion DTI can detect the CSCIWORA, and FT can directly display the injuries of white matter fiber tracts of cervical spinal cord, which provide more information to evaluate the clinical severity of CSCIWORA.
8.Application of preoperative needle electromyography in patients with severe carpal tunnel syndrome
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2018;41(5):409-412
Objective To investigate the relationship between the results of preoperative needle electromyography and the recovery of abductor pollicis brevis (APB) function in patients with severe carpal tunnel syndrome. Methods The clinical data of 68 patients (76 hands) with severe carpal tunnel syndrome were retrospectively analyzed. According to the results of preoperative needle electromyography, the patients were divided into the motor unit potential (MUP) positive group (46 cases, 52 hands), and MUP negative group (22 cases, 24 hands). The patients were followed up 1 year after operation, and the manual muscle testing (MMT) grade of abductor pollicis brevis muscle, functional assessment of thumb and patient satisfaction was recorded. Results The MMT grade ≥ 3 rate and satisfaction rate 1 year after operation in MUP positive group were significantly higher than those in MUP negative group: 100.0% (52/52) vs. 75.0% (18/24) and 100.0% (52/52) vs. 66.7% (16/24), and there were statistical differences (P<0.05). The patient′s thumb function 1 year after operation was evaluated by coin pickup test, button fastening test and sewing needle clamp test. The results showed that the thumb function in MUP positive group was significantly better than that in MUP negative group, and there was statistical difference (P<0.05). Conclusions The recovery of postoperative thumb function is related with the evocation MUP of postoperative abductor pollicis brevis needle electromyography. For MUP positive patients, there is no need for secondary thumb opponensplasty 1 year after operation. Needle electromyography has a certain reference value for thumb opponensplasty.

CTB protein possessed mucosal adjuvant immunoactivity. The CTB gene was amplified by PCR method from a strain V. cholerae. The nucleotide sequence of CTB gene was 375 bp and shared 96.0%~99.2% homology with other 6 CTB genes. The recombinant plasmid pTWIN1-CTB transformed E. coli strain BL21(DE3) expressed with 0.8 mmol/L IPTG. The molecular weight of expression products was identical with expectative weight by SDS-PAGE electrophoresis. The CTB fusion proteins mainly assembled inclusion bodies and the outputs of proteins were approximately 20% of the total bacterial proteins. The CTB proteins possessed mucosal immunoactivity by GM1-ELISA assay.
